When I first began contemplating this book, I envisioned it as a chronicle of my experiences and
lessons learned while forging a path in the HVAC industry. However, what I’ve come to realize is that I was writing this book in part to connect with people who haven’t yet figured out what they want to do in life.

Over the last few years, I’ve been pondering what to call this group of people. I’ve come up with several names for them, mostly privately, as I didn’t really talk about it with anyone else. The name that I’ve settled on is the “untouched.” What I mean by that is that they haven’t been touched yet by what may be exciting to them, or what they find interesting.

My hope is that some of my peer group and other industry professionals will buy the book, read the book, and either buy a copy for a friend, a youngster, or someone they know that may be searching for their long-term career. This book is meant to help create more awareness around the plethora of opportunities for young women and men coming into the workplace. It’s also for people in the private sector who have recently retired from military service or have served their requirement, who may be looking for their long-term career and life path.

If you’re in any of those groups, please share what you read here. My hope is that it will inspire at least one person to take action on their career. If it does that, I will feel like I have succeeded in this journey.
