A product focused on building an AI based Assistant for Social Media, with a focus on  the SMEs and Influencer markets. The product got featured in Tech in Asia and was exhibited in Rise Conference in Hong Kong 2018. 

It raised capital from Third Lane Ventures, a Micro-VC based in Sri Lanka and also raised Capital from Singapore and established the business there. Alakazam also participated in the AI/ Blockchain Accelerator in Taiwan conducted by AppWorks.

Hey 👋

I'm Dulitha, a seller trapped in an engineer's body. My journey began when I was 15, with writing a book, securing a family loan to self-publish, and using the proceeds to buy my first laptop. Talk about bootstrapping!

I believe persuasion is an art form, and true artists master it. Currently, I'm building Aristotle, the ultimate sales follow-up tool that's lightning-fast, giving sellers more time to, well, sell.

My career's been a wild ride:
• Started as a 16-year-old software engineer in retail (paid from the company's "incidental" budget 😉)
• Developed the world's first Open Source MDM at WSO2, used by Softbank and Fortune 500 companies
• Transitioned to pre-sales, consulting for US and Australian firms
• Launched a micro-SaaS helping self-published authors become Amazon bestsellers (spoiler: it worked!)

Then came the entrepreneurship rollercoaster:
• Scaled CabbageApps, a software dev firm, to 50 engineers working globally
• Launched multiple ventures:
  - Aristotle (Sales Automation AI) → Venture-backed, early traction, chasing PMF
  - HyperGlade (Real World Assets to Web3) → Similar story to Aristotle
  - AsyncInterviews (One-Way Video Interview Platform) → Lifestyle micro-SaaS
  - Urban.lk (Sri Lankan E-commerce) → Slowed post-2022 economic crisis
  - Alakazam (Marketing Automation) → Failed (thanks, Facebook API changes!)
  - KDP Rocket → Successful and exited

Recently, I was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Hustlefund in San Francisco, where Aristotle was born.

I'm a perpetual curiosity-follower. When not building or selling, you'll find me surfing, golfing, or rock climbing – my current obsessions in an ever-changing list of interests.

Over a period of 3 years, I've developed The Social Agency into a full-suite digital marketing agency with 15+ clients locally & internationally (UK, Australia, Qatar, etc) with the support of an amazing team of strategists, managers & creatives. Our clients range from international conglomerates to Sri Lankan conglomerates as well as a plethora of B2B SaaS, Retail & BPO businesses across the globe.

Co-Founder & Operations Manager

Due to the rapid expansion of The Social Agency's customer base and revenue between 2019 and 2021, was assigned by Asset Networks the direct oversight and management of The Social Agency Digital Marketing Services & Client Management. In order to scale commercial operations, Asset Networks increased the project's budget as a result.

- In the role of Digital Marketing Manager, responsibilities included the overall development of an internal brand strategy for growth, implementation & improvement of digital marketing processes across 5 business verticals (Web Design, Social Media Management, Social Media Advertising, Content Writing & Content Creation). 

- Additionally, the role ensured the maintenance of 8+ client accounts, the achievement of all client KPIs, client digital marketing strategies, and activations as well the maintenance of overall client satisfaction.

- The role also entailed the overall development, recruitment, and training of staff,  as well as the review, management, and presentation of budgets, sales reports, invoicing, and debt collections.

Digital Marketing Manager

Asset Networks (Pvt) Ltd

The Social Agency (2019-2021): 

- A member of the agency's founding team and its lead account manager, specializing in social media management, paid advertising, videography, content writing, influencer marketing, photography, and event coordination. 

- The responsibilities of the lead account manager included the creation of pitch proposals, client onboarding presentations, digital & paid media strategies, creative direction, and overall team coordination.

IT Solutions (2020)

- Assigned as a Digital Marketing Manager for major accounts within the conglomerate, catering to the ICT requirements of project development with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Inspector General's office.

- Participated in all significant partnership acquisitions and talks with Huawei, Loops (Sri Lanka), Jigsaw Ensemble (Australia), Kwebmaker & Hyperlink Infosystem (India), and others. 

- Oversaw the development of all company corporate branding to construct the company's image for tender bids as well as the development of strategic RFP responses for tender bids.

- The responsibility included communicating with international clients in Australia, Singapore, India, and Turkey, as well as evaluating investment ideas for high-value budgets ranging from $200,000 to $2.5 million.

The Social Mobile App (2018-2019):

- Founding Member of a multi-platform mobile development of a lifestyle application, with responsibilities including business growth, innovation, human resources planning and recruitment, marketing, and client/partner relationship management.

- The total digital marketing activities were coordinated, including creating a digital marketing strategy, its implementation, and the execution of social media management, advertising, and the design of the UI/UX of the mobile application.

- Marketing initiatives included enlisting over 100 merchants for the pilot project and forming strategic alliances with SLT, Mobitel, and TakTikBook.

Provided full suite operations support to the main college building in the form of event optimization and event set-up.

Event Staff

- Led a research pertaining to teamwork, the influence of personality traits on productivity and the exploration of transfer of knowledge between teams in various states of change and turnover. Worked with project lead on the development of experimental assessment and data collection along with the training of participants to keep confounding data to a minimal level.

- Coordinated with a team of 6 research assistants in the running of a project that looked at the implications of mindfulness, procedural thinking and the impact of mindfulness on dealing with distractions.

I am a Psychologist turned Marketer and Writer. I currently spend my time as Co-Founder & Head of Operations at The Social Agency.

My experiences as a Marketer & Writer over the years have provided me with a breadth of knowledge that encompasses Strategic Marketing, Digital Advertising, PR, SEO, Social Media Marketing, Brand Management & Business Development in the context of prestigious corporates, up & coming SME's & ambitious startups.
 
My time as a Founder has taken me through the importance of clear communication, client servicing, process development & optimization, tackling product-market fit, team building, business feasibility assessments, business plan development and many other lessons on the journey of hard knocks that is the life of a startup.

Furthermore, my academic foundation in Organizational Psychology & Entrepreneurship has placed me in a firm track to work with businesses, startup projects and corporations to ensure that user-driven product development & marketing is at the forefront of any growth strategy.
