Working with TEDxWabashCollege has truly been a blessing.

I've had the chance to test my leadership and management skills with a group of 30 students across Wabash College's campus, and also learn more about Event Planning and Marketing.

Our event has seen much success over it's four years, growing from 100 attendees to over 350 attendees, and selling out Wabash College's largest event venue.

We've also seen much professional growth, as our NPS Score has reached a new high of 78 over our 2018-2019 year.

My first position with TEDxWabashCollege was in the role of a curator.

For our 2018 event, I researched prominent topics on the TED platform, as well as topics that would be prominent to our local community.

With this information, I moved forward and contacted individuals that I believed would be powerful speakers to have at our event.

Once I decided on the three speakers I would like to bring to the event, I worked with these speakers to outline and develop their talks in the TED format. 

Then, it was the day of the event! I prepped each speaker on professional speaker techniques derived from TED to ensure their talk reached its potential.

Nothing got under my skin more than to wake up 30 mins early on a tuesday morning to tell my manager about my to-do list, so they could feel productive.

So, when I started Pneuma, I did my best to spin that model on it's head. 

1:1s shouldn't be about work. And if you're talking about a task list for more than 5 minutes, you're doing it wrong.

Today would be a great day to ask yourself why you have notifications on

4 years into building Pneuma...

Plenty of reasons to have slack and email notifications on...

... and not a single one of them have changed my mind

I've done this for so long I assumed everyone else does it as well, but I don't think that's the case

I'll jump on a meeting with a vendor, and during the meeting the individual sharing the screen has to swipe away notifications every few minutes.

Why? What's the point?

Schedule time to check your notifications, or notifications will end up scheduling your entire day

PS - Use an app like Opal to block socials from your phone to not get distracted

PPS - Use Apple's DND mode to simply turn off everything.

As a Regional Sales Manager, I worked with clients to identify bottlenecks and efficiency leaks they were experiencing with their workflow processes and find out where we could help them solve these challenges. I had the opportunity to work with a range of organizations, from Enterprise to Small Business, and worked through many complex sales cycles spanning several different departments and stakeholders.

Vocus was a marketing automation platform built for small business to large enterprise with the goal to help these organizations bring awareness to their brand through a variety of marketing initiatives in digital, social, and PR.

My responsibility was to work with small businesses of under $5 million in revenue and understand what they are trying to accomplish with their business and where there might be value in our Vocus Marketing Suite.  Many times, you were working with one key stakeholder, the owner, and you truly had to be a trusted advisor and know their business before they'd ever part ways with their hard earned money.  By using a consultative approach, this provided me the confidence to advise the client on their business and build the trust to make them realize we could help them gain the exposure they needed.

• Maintained an organized pipeline of leads, both inbound and outbound, through Salesforce
• Prospected potential clients through cold calling, cold emailing, and social selling

Golf Web Design was a growing operation with many moving parts.  I was tasked with working directly with prospects as well as new clients and maintaining those accounts as they grew.  Additionally, I worked closely with the team to put together proposals, marketing campaigns, build and update websites, and help the business continue to run smoothly.  

I was able to excel in this environment, as I was highly motivated to help the team achieve our end goal of helping our clients grow their business through an online digital presence.  Since our focus was clear, I was able to prioritize my daily activities and schedule to align with our vision.  Although I was wearing many hats, it allowed me to understand all phases of the sales process through to managing the accounts after they became partners.

Monarch Golf Management worked with a variety of different golf courses and organizations in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina to provide instruction and social networking opportunities to their clients and members.
