And we’ve only just started building our growth engine.

For the last few years Hey Digital has grown steadily at 30–40% year over year - that alone is a big win.

But what feels different heading into 2026 is how we’re approaching growth.

For a long time, most of our momentum came from:
→ LinkedIn content
→ Word of mouth
→ Great work compounding on itself

It worked. Really well.

But it also meant we were under-investing in areas we knew could unlock the next phase.

So toward the end of last year I made a pretty big shift.

I brought on Michael Glover as our first Head of Growth.
Then Nawfal FARES joined as our GTM Engineer.
We've had Ajay Mishra leading our discovery calls for a while now.
And in the next few days we’ll be making an offer to an awesome Demand Gen Marketer.

For the first time in 7+ years we’re building a real growth function and not relying on just riding momentum.

Michael shared our Q1 priorities internally this week and they sum up how we’re thinking about growth right now:

1. SEO and AI SEO
We already get discovery calls from both traditional SEO and AI-driven search, despite barely touching it. That’s a signal.
We’ve probably been playing this at 5–10% capacity. Now we’re treating it properly and bringing in Perry Steward and his team to help scale it.

2. Expanding how we help clients
Our core performance offering is strong. But clients kept asking for more creative, faster iteration, more video.
We tested this ad hoc at the end of 2025 and it worked. Now we’re formalising it.

3. ABM and warm outbound
The foundations are finally in place. Clean ICP data, proper infrastructure, and outbound aligned with paid and content.
Slow. Thoughtful. No spray-and-pray.

4. LinkedIn as a system
LinkedIn has driven a huge amount of our growth. Now we’re treating it like an engine.
More consistency, more team involvement, more intention. Less noise.

One important thing to say.

While this post is focused on our own growth initiatives, we’re just as focused on client delivery.

Because growth without retention is worthless.

Last year our month-over-month churn sat below 6%. Our LTV is strong. Clients stay. That doesn’t happen by accident.

We’re continuing to invest heavily in:
→ Team structure
→ How clients are supported
→ How strategy, creative and execution connect

At the end of the day, you can run the best marketing in the world.
But if the product or service isn’t great, it doesn’t matter.

What excites me most right now though isn’t the numbers.

It’s that for the first time, we’re investing in our own growth with the same care and structure we bring to our clients.

2025 was another foundation strengthening year.
2026 is about going bigger, taking more risks and applying pressure in the right places ✌🏻

A proper measurement framework is the foundation of any successful B2B SaaS paid acquisition strategy.

Most teams don’t have one.

They have dashboards.

We had a client call recently that perfectly summed up the problem.

On paper - performance looked like it had fallen off a cliff.
GA4 revenue from campaigns had dropped to almost zero.
It looked like the paid campaigns were suddenly failing.
Alarm bells for this VP of Marketing started ringing.

But when we stepped back and looked at the business performance through multiple lenses, a very different story appeared.

Back end data for this company showed:
→ Revenue in one geography up 9%
→ Revenue in another up 200%

Same campaigns. Same spend. Same period.

The issue wasn’t performance.
It was how performance was being interpreted.

And this is where a lot of SaaS teams get stuck.

They treat attribution like a verdict.

If HubSpot first-touch or last-touch says something isn’t working, the conclusion is immediate:
“Paid isn’t working.”
 “LinkedIn doesn’t convert.”
 “Demand gen is inefficient.”

That mindset is the real problem.

Attribution is not truth.
It’s simply a model.
And every model tells a different story depending on what you ask it to optimise for.

First-touch tells you one thing.
Last-touch tells you another.

But neither tell you how decisions actually get made in modern B2B buying.

Especially not on channels like LinkedIn.

People consume content here passively.
They don’t click everything.
They don’t convert in a straight line.
But they do remember.
They recognise.
And they show up later, often through a different door entirely.

That’s why more teams (us included) are leaning into influenced pipeline as a core signal.

Not as a replacement for attribution.
But as a counterweight to it.

A strong measurement framework:
→ Separates decision-making from platform defaults
→ Uses multiple signals, not a single source of truth
→ Looks at pipeline influence, not just form fills
→ Accepts that no single dashboard gets to decide reality

Dashboards are useful.
Attribution models are useful.

But using one view to declare whether marketing “works” or not is how good strategies get killed early.

The goal isn’t perfect attribution.
It’s better judgement.

And that starts with letting go of the idea that one number gets to tell the whole story.

This is something we see over and over again at Hey Digital.

The strongest teams don’t argue about which attribution model is “right.” They build a framework that lets them look at performance from multiple angles and make calm, informed decisions.

HubSpot first-touch is a signal.
Platform data is a signal.
Influenced pipeline is a signal.

None of them deserve full control on their own.

Your ads aren't underperforming because your targeting sucks. They're underperforming because your design does.

We just reviewed campaigns for a SaaS company spending around $60K per month on paid.

CAC climbing. CTR dropping. Ads fatiguing faster than they could refresh them.

The growth lead was convinced it was a targeting problem.

So they changed audiences. Tested new platforms. Rebuilt their tracking.

Performance stayed flat.

Here's what actually happened:

→ Same 3 ad variations for 4 months straight
→ Landing pages designed by product team (looked like it too)
→ Messaging buried in walls of text
→ "Creative testing" was just swapping headlines on the same generic screenshots

The problem wasn't with the strategy. It was with the execution and experimentation layer.

And this is the pattern I see constantly:

SaaS companies will spend another $60K on ads before they considering spending even just $5K on better creative. 

They'll blame the channel, the funnel, the offer - anything except the design.

Design is the layer that determines whether someone understands your product, believes they need it, and takes action.

When your design is weak, everything downstream suffers:

→ Paid performance stagnates because you can't test enough variations to learn anything
→ Website doesn't convert because product value isn't communicated visually
→ Sales cycles drag because prospects don't "get it" fast enough
→ Confidence to scale spend disappears

Most teams don't realize design is the constraint.

They think they have a marketing problem.
They actually have a creative capacity and iteration problem.

The best-performing SaaS companies understand that when it comes to ads, creative iteration speed determines how fast they learn and how confidently they can scale.

They work with designers who actually understand SaaS. Not just “talented designers,” SaaS-specific ones who know how to translate ICP pain points into visual clarity and what actually moves trials and demos.

Your product designer is probably brilliant at UI/UX - but they're not built for marketing creative at scale.

Welcome to the circus that is operations 🎪 I’m Gabby, and I lead a team of project managers and operations specialists at Hey Digital to build, manage and optimise all the processes for our fully remote team, so they can deliver their best work to our clients, and have the best time doing so.

I have been working in operations and managing teams for the better part of 10 years now, and before that I was actually IN a circus (that’s a story for another day). I have a deep curiosity that has led me to pursue studies in Politics, Philosophy and Business and has ushered me across a few different industries. I would like to think this has given me a range that helps me to think outside the box and craft innovative systems that transform chaos into order, unknowns into knowns.
