Saint Brendan’s Point Oyster Farm

In this role, I worked with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, local farmers, and seafood restaurateurs to plan an oyster farm on 40 acres of leased land in accordance with Virginia maritime and agricultural law. Once we were ready to begin building, I worked with the property owner, Stephen O'Keefe, to write a grant proposal and win $40,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture. 

Using said $40,000, I hired and managed a small team to create a functioning oyster reef and farm in the Mobjack bay near Jamestown, Virginia.

I worked with a team to help buy, remodel, and sell a house in under 4 months with a 17% profit margin. The team and I helped primarily with the redesign and refurbishing of the house. These tasks included painted the entire interior of the house, landscaping, and redecorating.

I collaborated with the TriVista team on a variety of internal and client-based projects. Client operational improvement projects included an NSi Industries Footprint Project in Charlotte, NC and MyMochi Ice Cream Continuous Improvement Project in Los Angeles, CA. During these projects I collaborated with management teams of each company to brainstorm efficiency improvement methods. I collected and analyzed scrap data and presented my weekly findings to the MyMochi CEO, CFO, and management team. Each week, I also gave advice to the CEO and management team on our next steps for scrap reduction. I developed and executed an experiment finding the tempering times of ice cream moving from a -20 degree freezer to a 0 degree freezer to help reduce the amount of lost production time. I led an internal update meeting with TriVista directors from other consulting teams to update them on the findings of the MyMochi Continuous Improvement team.

Summer Analyst

While studying abroad in Rome, Italy for the Fall 2020 semester, I was chosen by the administration to be one of four student assistants on campus. I worked with the resident coordinators daily to maintain a safe environment for the students during the COVID-19 pandemic. I assisted on school trips and events with setup and cleanup, directing groups with instructions on where to go, and checking students into hotels before curfew during trips. Additionally, I was on duty for 4 hours multiple nights a week, monitoring the campus to make sure that all school policies were followed by my fellow classmates.

I tutored a high school student with a learning disability in Biology six days a week, for two hours each day. I sat with him while he took his online Biology class and helped him through any struggles he was having by assisting him with typing and walking him through the lessons to ensure that he learned and comprehended the material on his own.

I assisted the masons in building residential walls for new housing developments. I performed a variety of jobs carrying cinderblock, steel rebar, mortar, concrete, and wood to help build the walls. I followed the instructions of the foreman and assisted with anything that the masons needed me to help with.
