In this role, I worked with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, local farmers, and seafood restaurateurs to plan an oyster farm on 40 acres of leased land in accordance with Virginia maritime and agricultural law. Once we were ready to begin building, I worked with the property owner, Stephen O'Keefe, to write a grant proposal and win $40,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture. 

Using said $40,000, I hired and managed a small team to create a functioning oyster reef and farm in the Mobjack bay near Jamestown, Virginia.

👋🏽 Hi, my name is JP Rezendes.

🎓 Alumni of the University of Dallas, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Business Administration. Additionally, I hold membership in the academic societies of Phi Beta Kappa & Beta Gamma Sigma. 

🌇 Massachusetts native with a passion to serve all who I come across. In high school, I went on a 4-week service trip to Peru to renovate multiple parishes, and this inspired me to teach a theology class to exchange students at my high school. In my college years, I continued my exploration by earning a scholarship to study abroad in Rome for a semester and participating in service trips to Mexico and France.

📚 On campus, I held multiple leadership roles, serving as President of the UD Student Foundation, a student mentor within Optimal Work, and co-founder of Forum LVI. These experiences have taught me to communicate effectively, lead up and down, think outside the box, and prioritize that which is ethical.
