You want it to happen quickly, so it probably won't happen at all.

And if it does happen, the result will be so different from what you intended that you'll have to start over anyway.

I'm starting to realize that the reason everyone and everything is so polarized is cognitive laziness.

No one wants to question anything if it feels good. People are not interested in facts. They're interested in feelings.

And the internet makes this worse in at least two ways:

1) Every idea that feels good is easily amplified, whether it's true or not. The worst ones, of course, get the most amplification.

2) It's completely eliminated cognitive friction. People just are not used to thinking hard. Now, thinking has always been taxing, but before the internet, you didn't really have a choice. But now, people don't care about sources, or, even worse, they twist they misinterpret the data to fit a narrative. Or hallucinate information that isn't there.

AI is ONLY going to make this worse.

Because imagine a machine giving your hallucinations weight because it's used 80% of its tokens... but you don't even know what a token is, because that takes energy to learn.

So eff it! If the all-knowing AI said it's true, it must be.

Stupid people don't know that they're stupid.

And they usually assume that *you're* the stupid one for not understanding or agreeing with them.

Remembering this can save you a lot of misery.

The average person has neither the courage nor the intelligence to choose truth over tribe.

They're too worried about fitting in.

Or more precisely, about not being outsted and being forced to confront the possibility they've been fed bullshit.

Because then they'd have to think for themselves.

The reality is that any significant accomplishment is a confluence of both individual effort and interference from factors beyond your control.

You make your own luck, but paradoxically, only when you’re acting in a way that reduces the need for luck.

In this way, creating luck comes from strategic decisions that reduce uncertainty.

The old saying “The harder I work, the luckier I get” perfectly encapsulates this reality.

You can't help someone committed to ruining their life.

You are *literally* the enemy for trying to help.

The best way to catch a falling knife is to let it hit the ground.

The Illusory Truth Effect

The illusory truth effect is a cognitive bias where repeated information is perceived as more truthful, regardless of its actual accuracy. 

Familiarity is mistaken for credibility, meaning hearing a statement multiple times—even if false—makes it more believable.

This phenomenon is driven by processing fluency, where familiar information is easier to mentally process, thus making it easier to believe.

Given how social media has rendered our attention span to something that can only be measured in nanoseconds, it's no wonder that people believe anything they see a headline about.

Combine this with cognitively lazy approach of "journalistic" websites simply c̶o̶p̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ syndicating other stories, and it's no wonder this happens.

If it aligns with a person's world view (confirmation bias) and it makes them emotional (emotional suggestibility), then you can be guaranteed they won't even think to question it.

This is how you get groups of people defending a subjective interpretation of reality as if it's objectively accurate.

We are doomed, because the ONLY fix for this requires so much work and confronting erroneous thoughts a person has invested energy into, that it won't happen.

And you can't even train kids to do this because most people don't realize this happens and they don't want to believe it's happened to them.

The Day You Stopped Waiting For Permission 

Two years ago I did something that punched my ego in the throat:

I calculated how much money I lost by waiting.

Not by failing. Waiting.

I looked at my first offer (the one that actually converted reliably).

That thing fit on a screenshot.

I could have launched 8 months earlier if I had stopped "refining" it and just put it out.

8 months of "I need to get the funnel right." Of "I should figure out my niche first." Of "let me get the positioning right before I start."

These are all important. But in business there really isn't anything that matters more than the math.

At the revenue that the offer eventually generated, those 8 months cost me around $180,000.

Because I was telling myself I was preparing but in reality I was doing NOTHING.

My "working hours" were 80% spent scrolling twitter and 'learning'.

I was preparing to prepare. While that money was always available to me.

I just kept pushing the start date forward. The muse was waiting for me and I kept telling her "later baby".

Every week I delayed was a week of clients who would have said yes.

Real people with real money. And we both never got the chance to do something good here because I was busy "getting ready."

Getting ready went from a step to my cope.

The most expensive cope in the world.

It costs you nothing upfront.

But it costs you the "man I really did that" that feels so satisfying in the future.

It's robbery.

Robbery of the person and the state you could be in.

Because while you are getting ready, the people you could be helping and building a business with found someone else.

The solutions were available to them but you were not.

You could've been way better. But you'll never know. Because they didn't even know you exist.

And by the time you show up, their problem is either solved or they have moved on.

The doors were closing in front of you and you could've stepped in but you did not.

This is the hidden cost of taking your time.

When you have good intentions and you've created some sort of result, even for yourself, taking your time is not patience.

It's a parasite that slows you down.

I know because I had it for 8 months.

It wasn't even painful. That's the worst of it.

It looked like professionalism and the "right thing to do".

But it was just cope.

Coping with the fact that it might not work or that it might not make any money. (When it wasn't even making money in the first place so why was I so afraid?)

The market was ready for me but I was afraid of my own greatness.

They say we fear failing but I say we also fear greatness because we feel like we don't deserve it.

What I learned from losing those $180,000 is that the market does not care about your timeline. It has money and it's going to spend it and it's up to you whether you're in the flow or not.

It's not moving fast that's reckless. It's not putting yourself in a position to get lucky that's reckless.

My main goal this month is helping people see that the path to financial freedom starts with the number 7:

Get 7 clients to pay you weekly so you get paid every day.

I've laid out the 5 steps in previous emails and today I'll give you the sixth and final one.

Step 1: Create an offer with weekly pricing in which you GUESS what problem to solve.

Step 2: Show it to 300 people before you even worry about your positioning or niche. The goal is to fail. To fail fast and see what doesn't sell. You want to turn a GUESS into a FACT by getting either a yes or a no.

Step 3: Repeat this until you get at least 3 yes'es for your offer. And now you have an offer you can trust.

(I've seen $10k/month businesses get built with JUST these 3.)

Step 4: Create Whale Bait so that when Whales visit your profile they will ask you about that offer.

Step 5: Create Moonshots to get a fresh stream of Whales.

These give you the trifecta:

1. An offer you can trust.
2. Whale Bait to turn the people who see it into clients.
3. And Moonshots to attract more of those.

These are all steps that other things take for you.

Your offer does the selling for you and your Whale Bait creates leads for you.

But the last one is one that you have to take yourself.

Step 6 is abandon.

Abandoning the version of you that wraps around your ankle and slows you down.

Abandoning the months one can take to refine an offer, find a niche or figure out the positioning.

Abandoning the version of you that prevents you from living up to a higher standard because of a FAKE story that keeps many hostage:

The story that there's more to be done.

It's the opposite actually.

The next level isn't unlocked by getting something you lack,

But by removing something you have.

The next level is unlocked through abandon.

Of abandoning the beliefs that don't serve you. The traits that hold you back. And the skills that frankly now fit you too small.

I'll tell you the favorite phrase of the 7 and 8 figure entrepreneurs I hang out with,

People that have achieved true financial freedom and are now pursuing intellectual and creative freedom.

Their favorite phrase is "I don't know".

They've abandoned their need to know what's going to happen in the future in exchange for a belief that they can create it.

The world doesn't happen to them.

They happen to it.

They don't need anyone to tell them that things are going to be fine because they've abandoned their need for it.

They have faith in themselves.

And in that the path will be revealed as they walk it.

Everything you want is already inside of you. You're already it.

Every moment could be a powerful moment if you so choose.

Half the business failures I see are people unable to stick to something for 1 year at a time

Your Business Is A Math Problem

"You get paid today for the content you posted 3 months ago."

I think that's solid advice.

It takes a while to convert someone because trust takes time to build.

This checks out.

What doesn't check out is the math:

A standard coaching agreement may last about 3 months.

They vary but for this math exercise let's say the average is 3 months.

If it takes 3 months to convert a client,

And a client leaves in month 3 on average,

Then mathematically, you're always going to be capped.

3-3 = 0.

Right back at where you started.

The math is horrible but at least it tells you the truth:

The skill isn't the issue here. Nor is it your follower count or offer (or lack thereof). The main issue here is math.

Getting clients is still the goal, obviously.

But if the math always reverts you back to zero then something in the equation went terribly wrong.

The culprit is Sales Velocity (how fast you get a client).

If someone has to follow you, consume your stuff, build belief, watch a VSL, schedule a call, then a follow-up call, then make a decision and then get back to you...

That's a pretty long sales process.

And we're not selling to enterprises who need to talk to boards to make decisions.

You're selling to people who can make decisions on the spot. It's just that the model with which you ask them to make a decision is a LONG one.

Too long for the math to play out in your favor.

When you speed up your sales process the math plays out differently.

Let's assume you only changed 1 variable in your business. Just 1.

And that you figured out a way to reduce the time to conversion from 3 months down to 2.

The math then serves you and serves you well.

Because at the end of every 3 months, you would have more clients than at the beginning.

Growth.

Entrepreneurs spend a lot of time figuring out how to build something.

Just for today, don't think like the entrepreneur.

Think like the engineer:

Instead of building from the ground up,

Ask yourself if the ground is worth building on.

Look at the math.

Run the numbers and see how the typical math of client businesses just doesn't work out.

The rate at which you lose money and the rate at which you make it is the exact same. This is why even people with big audiences and great offers are stuck.

And they always go back to the same point.

Sales velocity needs to go up. The process needs to be faster or else you'll always revert back to the average.

And the average in this industry is pretty pathetic.

I'll share more on how we do this. But for today, take this question with you:

Are you following the math or are you fighting against it?

People are generally more averse to commit to you than to buy from you.

The worst business model is hopping around business models

If I see the words "transform," "skyrocket," or "optimize" on an offer I already know it's not going to sell.

A health expert i worked with couldn't explain what he did... "gut health optimization" wasn't landing with anyone.

His most profitable post ever was just a before and after picture of acne treatment.
