I lead a research-driven initiative examining labor, leadership, and institutional accountability at a critical inflection point in the American workforce.

My work focuses on how Black women experience power inside organizations, how institutions respond to economic and cultural disruption, and how leadership norms, policy decisions, and workplace structures shape outcomes over time. I approach these questions through long-form research, narrative analysis, and applied inquiry grounded in lived professional experience.

I have published multiple books that function as field-based research, documenting patterns in voice, silence, leadership evaluation, and institutional behavior across corporate, educational, and policy-adjacent environments. These works serve as qualitative evidence informing my ongoing analysis of workplace systems rather than as prescriptive or self-help material.

The Center for Black Women, Work, and Power provides a formal home for this body of work, supporting sustained scholarship, public-facing analysis, and institutional engagement. It is intentionally structured as a lightweight research entity to preserve independence, rigor, and publication focus.

I am currently engaged in research, writing, and advisory work related to workforce transformation, leadership dynamics, and organizational accountability.

Podcast Host

Host of Black Power Moves, a weekly deep dive podcast that is part of the Ebony Covering Black America Podcast Network. Episodes inform about Black culture, empowerment, entrepreneurship, and history.  

The podcast format exemplifies a casual, get-to-know-you conversation, rather than an interview. This  expresses the mission and goals, which are simply to amplify the voices of Black people across the Diaspora.

To that end, there are no prepared questions, to recreate the tradition of oral storytelling through a historical African lens. Guests tell their own stories in a way that feels comfortable and natural, with the host guiding the conversation in the framework of an authentic, culturally sensitive and relevant narrative that has a goal to amplify Black voices and inspire, educate and motivate listeners. 

Guests include Black tech leaders, college presidents, community leaders, trail blazing business and social entrepreneurs, educators, and cultural icons.

•	Provided analysis, modelling and programming support to the Gallium Nitride Power Device team which improved R&D learning cycle time by 8%


Duties
•	Developed and improved the manufacturing process for gallium nitride (GaN) transistor.
•	Carried out electrical analysis of devices which helped understand performance and robustness of key parameters.
•	Carried out statistical analysis of devices which informed next round of design experiments and relationships between input and output parameters.
•	Worked with cross-functional teams including; design, fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging and sales to bring the product to market.
•	Communicated project status to senior stakeholders.

Technology Development Engineer (Gallium Nitride Devices)

Nexperia acquires Newport Wafer Fab

Key Achievements
•	Conceived, designed, built and implemented in-house anomaly detection system which led to earlier problem detection by engineering teams and significant reduction in customer returns which in turn led to internal award and recognition.
•	Instrumental in identifying and resolving failure mechanism impacting on supply chain delivery to key client by providing excellent analysis, detailed engineering work and dedication. This resulted in internal award and recognition.
•	Solely accountable for specifying technical requirements and contracting with external suppliers for the supply of business critical raw material. Resulted in internal site recognition award.


Duties
•	Monitored the yield and electrical performance of transistors at the end of the manufacturing line.
•	Identified failing transistors and carried out analysis to understand and isolate root cause.
•	Optimised and improved manufacturing process to aid bottle necks in the factory and to make more electrically robust devices.
•	Trained and mentored junior engineers and technicians on statistical analysis and presentation.

Process Integration Engineer (Silicon Devices)

I lead a team of software, machine learning, and analytics engineers to build products and features which help customers discover items on the JustEatTakeaway website and app.

I started my career as a VLSI  (Very Large Scale Integration) manufacturing engineer, fabricating power electronic devices. I've also worked as a data analyst/scientist, helping businesses understand what their customers want and recommending interventions.

I'm pursuing a part-time Ph.D. in AI Ethics, specifically machine learning bias and fairness. My research aims to understand why algorithms display discriminatory behavior and what we can do to remedy it.

I'm also interested in using data and technology to solve problems in society, especially in developing countries. I believe that Africans will have to solve Africa's problems. As a result, I'm very passionate about developing the talent that will solve those problems.
