I lead a research-driven initiative examining labor, leadership, and institutional accountability at a critical inflection point in the American workforce.

My work focuses on how Black women experience power inside organizations, how institutions respond to economic and cultural disruption, and how leadership norms, policy decisions, and workplace structures shape outcomes over time. I approach these questions through long-form research, narrative analysis, and applied inquiry grounded in lived professional experience.

I have published multiple books that function as field-based research, documenting patterns in voice, silence, leadership evaluation, and institutional behavior across corporate, educational, and policy-adjacent environments. These works serve as qualitative evidence informing my ongoing analysis of workplace systems rather than as prescriptive or self-help material.

The Center for Black Women, Work, and Power provides a formal home for this body of work, supporting sustained scholarship, public-facing analysis, and institutional engagement. It is intentionally structured as a lightweight research entity to preserve independence, rigor, and publication focus.

I am currently engaged in research, writing, and advisory work related to workforce transformation, leadership dynamics, and organizational accountability.

Podcast Host

Host of Black Power Moves, a weekly deep dive podcast that is part of the Ebony Covering Black America Podcast Network. Episodes inform about Black culture, empowerment, entrepreneurship, and history.  

The podcast format exemplifies a casual, get-to-know-you conversation, rather than an interview. This  expresses the mission and goals, which are simply to amplify the voices of Black people across the Diaspora.

To that end, there are no prepared questions, to recreate the tradition of oral storytelling through a historical African lens. Guests tell their own stories in a way that feels comfortable and natural, with the host guiding the conversation in the framework of an authentic, culturally sensitive and relevant narrative that has a goal to amplify Black voices and inspire, educate and motivate listeners. 

Guests include Black tech leaders, college presidents, community leaders, trail blazing business and social entrepreneurs, educators, and cultural icons.

Principal UX/UI, L&D, Curriculum Designer and Employability Consultant

Proactively worked with clients to deliver effective HR solutions including the development of a relevant UX, CX and L&D strategy fully aligned to company’s growth and evolution, taking them from where they are to where the would like to be with their systems and training usability and ability. Worked as a part of a team that designed and implemented a new employee onboarding solutions for upskilling, adopting  Organisational wide Performance Management approaches e.g. the creation of a structured learning roadmap for employees first year in the business - embedded in client's company HR onboarding strategy.  

Responsible for the delivery of seamless JR solutions and continued to design and provide usable and effective management systems for clients' development on their day to day business interactions and business transactions. Also, created and supervised suitable e-presence as a part of re-branding e.g. e-presence, content development and management, communication channel branding (i.e. organisation logo, colours,signature etc), giving clients' the look and feel of professionalism in addition to creating the desired 'aura' about their organisation.

𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀:
Worked as part of a team (3) developmenting delivery strategies that led to the successful outcome of receiving Direct Centre Status (DCS) via Edexcel Awarding body. This led to an increase in about 10-15% roll on/off of candidates, due to speed in quality assurance.

Delivered full apprenticeship frames subject areas : IT User - Skills Level 2 | IT Users - Level 2 and IT Practitioners - Level 2 | coupled with delivering Coaching and Mentoring. 

Achieved 100% achievement rate with all apprentices and within 2 years, have moved onto further education (i.e. University) and also secured employment organisations such as:

Provided relevant support via strong IAG and Life Coaching skills; ensured quality driven delivery and personal development guidance via 1-2-1 and group modes.

Effectively and successfully managed a caseload of 42 university staff within the Estates and Administration departments ( both junior staff and senior management); 
Delivered NVQ training work based training and covered: Customer Service | Business and Admin for standalone NVQ's of the QCF Apprenticeship framework (levels 1-3).
 
Monitored staff- training programme which was  tracked on a weekly basis, pin pointing areas of concerns (absence, sickness and engagement lag).
