than four years of college.

3/ Ask this in your next 1:1
"What's one thing that improved because we worked together?"
 
Listen.
Then write it down.
 
It's simple.
And it's how quiet leaders stop being invisible.
 
The difference between being remembered and being replaced?
 
Not louder leadership.
But lasting impact.

4/ Build your replacements
The clearest signal you're ready for more? That someone beneath you is ready for your seat. Build them intentionally.

Leaders don't get promoted for doing it all. They move forward because they know what to stop doing.

Now I see "unexpected" as a signal:

Not just in how you lead others,

It's a shift more mid-level managers need:
Less head-down execution.
More career-level awareness.
 
Take the uncertain assignment.
Go meet that stakeholder in person.
