A team with a shared vision.

The reactions say it all.

Not many people know this, but ElliotDigital was my Fiverr name. 

Before building the business to where it is now, I was freelancing. I spent my early days saying yes to everything. 

Shopify builds. Paid ads. Social media. Email. 

If someone on Fiverr was willing to pay for it, I was doing it. 

But here's what I noticed. Every brand I worked with was obsessing over their ad dashboards. The numbers were up, down, always at the mercy of the ever-changing algorithm - one iOS update and everything shifted. 

Meanwhile, email was quietly generating serious revenue. Stable, consistent, and when brands needed to rely on it the numbers were crazy. 

It was an undervalued channel. 

One night, walking home from the pub, my partner Chloe said something I still think about five years later. 

"Why don't you just go all in on email? It's what you enjoy the most" 

It was my lightbulb moment. 

Almost overnight, I tried to convert every freelance client to retention only. 

I lost all of them but one. 

One client. That was my entire business - a client that we still have a great relationship with now. 

But it was enough to prove the model, and enough to start building. 

Today we're a 12-person in-house team in London, working with leading DTC brands. 

I still think about that lightbulb conversation I had with Chloe. 

Probably helped that I'd had a few pints.

The stupidest trick that skyrockets email open rates

(I can't believe this still works)

We added a sender name to one of our client's emails.

That's it.

Instead of sending from "Brand Name" we sent from "Laurence from Brand Name"

Typical open rates: 60%

This email: 73.57%

It's embarrassingly simple but it works because people connect with people, not logos.

Your subscribers are getting 100+ emails per day from brands.

But they're not getting many from actual humans.

So when they see a name in their inbox, it stands out.

The psychology is simple: we trust people more than we trust companies.

Here’s why:

Here's what we fixed:

Their original email buried the CTA, had a tiny headline, and the product section looked cluttered.

Zero social proof. Nothing that screamed "we're a major brand."

Our redesign:

↳ CTA above the fold where people can actually see it

↳ Headline 3x bigger and impossible to miss

↳ Clean, minimal product section

↳ Trustpilot reviews prominently displayed

↳ Final CTA at the bottom to catch scrollers

Now it looks like the high-status brand they actually are.

Your email design is your silent salesperson.

If it looks amateur, people assume your brand is amateur.

Even if you're doing millions in revenue.

Make sure your emails match the quality of your product.

This one word crushes it in our emails every single time

(It's a psychological trick for social proof)

The word: **Approved**

Instead of "What Our Customers Are Saying" (boring, overused, nobody cares)

We use:

→ Customer Approved

→ Community Approved

→ Airport Approved (for travel/lifestyle products)

Why does this work?

1. It's quick and punchy
2. It signals bestseller status (mimetic desire kicks in)
3. It implies social proof without being preachy
4. People think "if others approved it, I probably will too"

We've tested this across dozens of campaigns and it consistently outperforms traditional social proof headers.

The best part? It feels natural, not salesy.

Try swapping your next "customer testimonial" section with "[Situation] Approved" and watch your click rates jump.

Rhode needs to fire their marketing team

(Here's the email that proves it)

I got an email from Rhode by Hailey Bieber and it's a masterclass in what NOT to do.

Here's what's wrong:

The logo takes up half the screen, pushing content way below the fold. The hero image is massive but has no CTA button. The copy is hard to read. Then there's this messy grid that looks like a chaotic Instagram feed.

It's visually confusing and kills conversions.

So we redesigned it.

Our version:

→ Smaller logo (people know who you are)

→ Text on hero image with a clear CTA

→ Clean grid section that actually makes sense

→ Big, obvious CTA at the bottom

This isn't about being mean to Rhode. It's about the fact that even massive brands with huge budgets get email design completely wrong.

And if they're losing money on bad emails, smaller brands definitely are.

Design matters. Every pixel above the fold matters. Every CTA matters.
