But the brands that slow it down don’t just rely on reminders or discounts.

They build stickiness into the subscription itself.

That’s why it’s encouraging to see loyalty finally being treated as part of the subscription system - Not just a hopeful bolt-on.

When loyalty, credits, tiers and referrals all live inside the subscription portal.

1. Customers see the value as they manage their orders

2. You can surface rewards at the exact moment someone is considering cancelling (and what they lose if these do)

3. And you can actually measure how loyalty impacts CLTV and churn, not just points issued

That connection matters.

I’m also a big believer that referrals help break the subscription death curve - that moment where growth flattens and you’re just replacing churn.

Using subscribers as an acquisition channel is powerful.

And when referrals are native to the subscription experience, it becomes frictionless.

The more loyalty is embedded into how subscriptions work, the more resilient the program becomes.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 
𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀.

This template was built to feel warm, spacious, and inviting-the same way a well-designed home should feel.

From the first section, the focus was on atmosphere.
➡️𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁 imagery.
➡️Balanced 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴.

A layout that doesn’t rush the reader.

Home decor isn’t impulse-driven in the inbox. People pause. They imagine. They picture the product in their own space. 
This email was designed to support that moment of imagination, not interrupt it.

Visual hierarchy played a big role here. The hero section sets the mood before asking for attention. Product sections follow naturally, without clutter. Nothing competes. Everything has room to breathe.

Color choices were intentional, calm, earthy tones that feel familiar and comfortable. Not trendy for the sake of trends. Just colors that sit well in an inbox and reflect the idea of home.

This template was designed mobile-first. Because most people scroll emails casually—on the couch, between tasks, late in the evening. If it doesn’t feel effortless on mobile, the experience breaks.

Mailchimp gives flexibility, but thoughtful design still matters. Alignment, spacing, and flow aren’t optional; they shape how the brand is perceived before a single word is read.

One thing this project reinforced for me:
Good home decor emails don’t try to sell a product.
➡️They tell a quiet story.
➡️A story about comfort.
➡️About taste.

About creating spaces people want to come back to.
If a reader scrolls through this email and feels calm instead of overwhelmed, curious instead of pressured, then the design has done its job.

That’s the approach I’m continuing to refine-
