I talked with 3 coaches doing over $1m/yr this month. Here's what they're building instead of 'funnels' in 2026.

They all said the same thing.

A simple sales funnel got them started a few years ago, but that's not how people buy anymore.

Their customers KNOW when their in a sales funnel now. 

And so they've changed their buyer journey to fit this model instead.

There are a couple variations to this, but essentially you need to 3 things to make it work: 


1. Get them engaged with something LOW friction. 

This could be a lead magnet, a newsletters or a low ticket offer for example.

(although 2 of them were actually abandoning their low ticket offers in favour of a shorter buying journey to high-ticket MRR). 


2. Help them level-up with an easy next-step.

This is a simple "if that helped, this will too" offer. 

Your goal here is to help them know, like and trust you enough to engage with your core offer. 

Keep it simple, bingeable and offer it sooner than you think you should.


3. Make accessing your core-offer an EASY next-step.

Remember, we're helping them 'ascend', in this model.

They need to know what you core offer is, how it helps them and have a clear, easy path to access it. 

Don't hide it in a 7-day email course. 

Make it easy for them to buy from you. 
(this is where 97% of coaches go wrong).


You need to stop trying to stuff hundreds and thousands of people into the top of your funnel hoping a few will drop out as clients. 

You can sell more, with less effort, to your small audience if you just help them level up.

And make it easy for them to take the next step.

3. Everyone else will have one on their watch and use it to calculate tips.

It's human psychology.

HomeDepot is full of incredibly powerful tools.

Few use them correctly or can build something meaningful with them.

Most just collect them and then end up in the ER.

Instead of getting 1 of them to 90%.

Building a business isn't difficult. The strategy is easy. 

You probably already know what you need to do.

But it's HARD work. 

And we tend to avoid the thing that's hard and get distracted by shiny objects or 'the next' thing.

Pick one. 

Optimize the living daylights out of it until it's humming at, at least, 75% of it's actual potential. 

Then optimize even more to get it up to 90%. 

That's how you win. 

Successful businesses = Leaning into the repeat work. 

Just do the work.


What's the HARD thing you've been avoiding?

I've built 6 businesses over the last 18+ years.

I used to choose my business model based on how much it would make it. I tried to maximize earning potential. 

But then as the businesses grew and started to make money, I realized that wasn't actually how I wanted to spend my time. 

I stopped PICKING a business model.

And started building my own based on minimizing my time spend, 

AND maximizing my earning potential. 

When you build for you, instead of choosing someone elses business model.

Optimize your time, and the $ will be easier to earn.

Do you work on vacation? 

Here's the dark side of entrepreneurship when you don't set proper boundaries. 

- You can't switch off and enjoy your surroundings.
- You spend every waking hour thinking about work.
- Stress builds. There's not enough time. 

A guy walked past me while I was working at the beach for an hour in Hilton Head, SC.

He said "You should ask your boss for a day off!" and then laughs as he staggered off.

I looked at him and said "I am the boss!". 

I was ticked-off for a bit, but then I realized the true value of entrepreneurial freedom. . . .

I have control. 
I can decide. 
It's my choice. Not someone else's. 

And it's glorious! 

I love the flexibility I have to work wherever I am in the world.

I've built my delivery model so that it feels light and easy. 

My business is about protecting my freedom, not anchoring me.

And I like to feel productive while Im on vacation. 
That's my happy place. 🙌🏼

But you have to set REAL boundaries and know when to close the laptop (or your phone . . . yeah you know).


What does your delivery model look like? 

Do you take the laptop, or is that a no go?

If you slid your offer across the table on a piece of paper. . . 

Would the buy? 

Have questions?

Or ignore it completely? 

If the value of your offer isn’t clear enough that they take immediate action. . . 

It needs work.

It’s the critical component most coaches don’t spend nearly enough time on.

- And they lose sales. 
- Spend hours in sales calls that go nowhere.

Here's a simple truth every coach should know.

I turned 28 today, and I don't celebrate my birthday.

This time, I am just looking back.

It's been 5 years. I have been building different things.

This year, I built my dream.
My agency and my community.
This is not an overnight success.

I have spent 5 years learning all of this.
Every year brings more experience.

When people ask me how I know so many things,

My answer is:
I have been through depression.
I still suffer from anxiety almost every day.
I have built 2 businesses. This is my third.

If you're building something, don't look at someone who is already successful.

It will only demotivate you. Look at your past and build your future. That's it.

I disappointed more people in 12 months
than I did in the previous 27 years of my life.

Some of my closest friends barely saw me.
Weekend plans disappeared.
Random hangouts stopped.

But people on LinkedIn saw me almost every day.
Posting.Building.

Trying to create something from nothing.

Because when you decide to dream bigger,
There's always a price to pay.

I chose the unconventional path.
I decided to build my agency from scratch.

No shortcuts. No safety net.
Just belief and a lot of uncomfortable decisions.

At the time, many people didn’t understand it.

All they saw was what I stopped doing.
They didn’t see the late nights, the doubts, the pressure.

But now things are different.
The agency is growing.
Clients are coming in.

The work I once hoped for is finally becoming real.

And looking back, I understand something clearly:
Growth often looks like disappointment to people
who expected you to stay the same.

But sometimes that’s the price of building the life you actually want.
If you’re in that uncomfortable phase right now… keep going.

One day, on the same journey, people questioned
will become the story people respect.

If you are building everything on LinkedIn, this can be your biggest mistake.

When you start posting and get your first client. 

You start thinking wow, this is it. This is the place.

You put more time, more effort.

BUT!!! What if.

LinkedIn banned you tomorrow?

What are you doing for that?

Growing and monetising LinkedIn is important.

BUT,
If you have built a business that is dependent on one platform.

It will always be risky. 

How many of you got banned on Upwork? 

So how can you prevent that?

That's simple.
By owning your audience.
By diversifying your income streams.
By building relationships outside the platform.

Don't just ask for your client's number.
Ask your friends to connect on WhatsApp.

Build something sustainable.
That does not depend on one thing only.
