I help women leaders and changemakers own their voice and build personal brands rooted in identity, clarity and purpose.

Much of my work supports women who are capable, experienced and mission-driven, but feel overlooked, unseen or unsure how to communicate the value of what they carry. They know they are called to more, but don’t want to lose themselves trying to be visible.

My approach to personal branding is identity-led. Not trend-driven. Not performative.

When identity is clear, confidence steadies. Messaging sharpens. Presence strengthens. Visibility becomes intentional rather than exhausting.

Alongside my work as a personal brand strategist, I am a keynote speaker, facilitator and MC, working with organisations, networks and events to support leaders and teams around voice, identity, presence and purpose-led leadership. My sessions are grounded, practical and reflective, helping people communicate with clarity and confidence rather than performance.

I am also a broadcaster, author and the founder of Heartsong Live Radio, a values-led radio station I built from the ground up and grew onto mainstream DAB. Creating platforms where voices are heard, valued and elevated is not just what I teach. It is what I live.

As the first African woman to start a radio station in Scotland, my career has been shaped by navigating leadership, visibility and identity in spaces where women are often expected to shrink. That lived experience informs how I support others.

My work sits at the intersection of purpose, mission and profit. I believe meaningful work deserves to be resourced, and women should not have to choose between impact and sustainability.

I have literally just got home from speaking at Glasgow Caledonian University for the Future Leader Experience, in the Small Group Conversations with Common Purpose. 

It was genuinely lovely connecting with so many future leaders, hearing their ideas, and having real conversations that were honest and hopeful.

I shared my leadership journey and kept it simple.

Leadership is not a title. It is influence. It is choosing to take responsibility for what you can see, even before you feel ready.

I took them back to where it all started me. Always love sharing my story. From organising concerts, to pulling people together and creating space. 

I quickly learned that people didnt just want an event. They wanted a place where they feelt seen, heard and their voice mattered which led to creating platforms such as Heartsong Live Radio and Adelphe Connect. 

I also shared a framework that I live by. As a leader, you are an I.C.O.N.

I. Identity: Know who you are, who you’re called to, what you stand for, your message and the solution that you bring.

C. Clarity: Clarity does not always come from thinking. It comes from taking action. Take the next step, and you learn what works, what not to do or what to do more of. Most leaders do not have it all figured out. They learn on the job. 

O. Opportunities: Say yes to opportunities. I love this Richard Branson line “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you are not sure you can do it, say yes, then learn how to do it later.”

N. Narrative: Your story matters. Not the polished version. The honest one. Your journey can give someone else permission to start, and to keep going.

These are some lessons I have learnt along the long way and still learning. Especially the part about staying consistent with the vision when it is quiet, messy, or slower than you planned.

Leadership is nurturing your vision. Nobody gives birth to a baby and abandons them. You carry it, protect it, feed it, and stay with it until it can stand.

Today I realised I have been expecting myself to be superwoman again. 😉😜☺️

You know when you wake up tired, already behind, and you still have to “turn on the lights” for everyone else. 

You still have to show up, lead, respond, plan, decide, and carry the energy. That has been me lately.

Because behind the scenes, some really exciting things are happening with Adelphe Connect. We are building, tightening, and putting things in place that will make the work stronger and more sustainable.

And it matters to me because Adelphe is not just a project. It is people. It is women who need support that feels safe and practical. It is a vision I cannot shake.

But some days, I do not “have it”. Some days I am tired of being the one who keeps it moving. Some days I want to pause everything, but life does not pause. Then I catch myself feeling guilty for being human.

So I am practising something new. I am being kinder to myself in real time, in the middle of the juggle. And with that kindness, I am giving myself permission to go slow and do it properly.

I have seen the “2016 is the new 2026” trend going around on instagram. I do not usually join trends, but this one I wanted to join 😉 and for good reasons. 

Because 2016 was a turning point for me.

In 2014, I released my first album, Arise. It was gentle. It was honest.

But by 2016, something had shifted. I was tired of being put in a box. Tired of shrinking. Tired of second-guessing what I already knew was in me.

So I titled my second album “Unrestrained”. Oh the backlash I got for the title and my album cover. The album was released at Engage 2016, our flagship worship event. 

That year, the mandate was to organise a mass choir too which saw people from different denominations come together to be a part of the choir, I still remember the moments leading up to the event and the atmosphere in the room on the day. That moment when my album was released felt like more than a music release. It felt like permission.

Around that same season, I was also studying a Master’s in Digital Marketing at RGU. I started in 2015, but 2016 was when it really stretched me. I was finding language for what I was building, and courage for what I was becoming.

I am grateful for the journey so far and everything it has come with. The wins, the lessons, the growing pains, the people, the open doors, and the closed doors that saved me.

Three lessons I have learnt on this journey  
	👉Your next level usually starts with one brave decision. Not a perfect plan. A decision.
	👉Confidence grows by movement. Clarity comes when you act, not when you wait.
	👉Being yourself costs you some approval, and it gives you your life back.

There’s a quote people often attribute to Martin Luther King Jr: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” The wording is widely shared, but the original source is debated, and that is fine because the message still stands.

Senior leadership roles do not fail on competence.
They fail when authority, judgement, and execution are stretched by visibility, scrutiny, and consequence.

I partner with senior leaders as responsibility expands and leadership is tested in ways technical skill alone can no longer carry.

Many highly capable leaders reach this stage with strong track records, yet find that expectations, exposure, and decision weight increase faster than their internal leadership system can adapt. When left unaddressed, authority strains, judgement becomes less steady, and influence fragments, creating avoidable risk for both the leader and the organisation.

My work focuses on strengthening leadership architecture at these inflection points.
I stabilise authority, sharpen judgement, and reinforce presence and execution so leaders can operate with clarity, precision, and impact as complexity grows.

I bring particular depth in supporting African diaspora senior leaders, where difference adds an additional layer of context requiring deliberate calibration so leadership intent, judgement, and action land as intended.

My perspective is shaped by 15 years across complex corporate environments, including Big 4 and FTSE 100 organisations, and over five years partnering with senior leaders operating under high scrutiny and consequence.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲
This work is most relevant when:
• Increased visibility exposes strain in authority or leadership positioning
• Decision-making carries higher organisational or reputational risk
• Influence becomes harder to sustain across broader, more complex systems
• Leadership effort starts to feel heavy, personal, or overly effortful
• A challenge, conflict, or inflection point reveals gaps that competence alone cannot close

The result is clearer judgement, stronger influence, and leadership credibility that holds as responsibility grows. Leaders also report greater steadiness and reduced internal strain as pressure increases.

My children and I watched a programme this week about food and health. It followed a mum and her two children whose diet was largely made up of processed foods.

At home, we have been intentional about reducing processed food and prioritising good food - unprocessed and as close as possible to its naturally occurring state.

On the way back from swimming classes, we were talking about the programme. I mentioned that the alternatives suggested by the experts were the same ones I regularly point them towards.

I was enjoying my “Mum was right; you should listen to me more” moment.

One of them agreed, “You’re right, we should listen to you more.”
Then, referring back to the programme, added, “Their mum kind of let them down.”

I was taken aback. Feeding your children what they prefer, and then hearing it reframed by a child as letting them down.

I mentally noted the comment. On the days I am being pleaded with to agree to something that isn’t the best option, I return to a simple line: “I don’t want to let you down.”

We indulge and think we are helping.
Yet those we indulge may later blame.

Leadership at home is not so different from leadership at work. Clear judgement and firm boundaries may be resisted in the moment, but they are rarely misunderstood in hindsight.

One of the virtues I admire most is boldness. Not the performative kind, but the quiet, unshakeable resolve to stand firm when it carries consequence.

Scripture has often shaped how that resolve shows up in my work. One verse, in particular, has stayed with me:

“The lion, the king of the jungle, who is afraid of no one.”
Proverbs 30:30 (TPT)

For a long time, boldness did not come naturally to me. Earlier in my career, I was timid. Capable and conscientious, but hesitant to assert myself when authority was misused.

In one especially tense meeting, a leader misrepresented facts and attempted to rewrite events in real time. I left the room frustrated, unsettled, and unsure of my next move.

As I walked it off, that scripture came to mind.
The lion does not retreat. It does not shrink.

I returned to my desk and put the facts in writing clearly, calmly, and without accusation.
It was not an emotional response. It was a considered claim of my authority.

The response was immediate. The same individual who had been comfortable distorting the narrative was suddenly uneasy. I was later told they would have preferred a conversation rather than matters being documented.

That moment was instructive. A scripture had moved me from hesitation to grounded action.
That is what faith looks like in practice for me.
This is how I engage scripture to navigate professional life.

As we move through 2026, boldness will matter. Not bravado. Not aggression. But the kind of boldness that refuses timidity when boundaries are crossed, judgement is tested, or truth is diluted.

Timidity slows leadership growth. It clouds judgement. It leaves capable leaders exposed.

When I need to recalibrate my courage, I return to that image of the lion. Steady, unafraid, grounded in its authority.

Over time, I have learned that authority is often claimed in moments like these, long before it is formally recognised.

More than halfway through January already. 

Not going to say it’s going fast because that’s such a cliché… but there, I said it.

This year has started intentionally slowwwwly.

I’ve been doing a lot of deep work finalising the framework for my new 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆 and 𝒎𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔, strengthening the existing 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆, and quietly working on a new website.

On the personal side, I’ve also been focusing on stabilising my health habits and supporting my children to do the same particularly around their education.

The year will be good. I’m getting ready for it.

I keep noticing the pull towards what’s familiar and comfortable. I’m aware of it and resisting it.

I’m building a new body of work, and I know I need to be new too for it to flow the way I’m envisioning.

On the drive home from school on his first day back, I asked my nine-year-old the usual question:

“What did you do in school today?”

“Maths and art,” he said.

Surprised, I replied,
“Maths and art for six hours?”

Then he added,
“Oh, we did New Year’s resolutions too.”

I smiled and asked,
“Interesting. What are your New Year’s resolutions?”

He paused and said,
“I don’t remember.”

We both laughed.

I’m sure your New Year resolutions, if you made any, have lasted longer than my son’s.

It is only the first full week of January, and life is already back in motion.

Diaries are filling. Priorities are reasserting themselves.

This is often the point where motivation is still present, but support systems are not.
Where intention exists, but structure does not.

If intentions are not designed into routines, decision-making, and accountability, they quietly give way to reality.

For leaders, the risk is not lack of information.
It is loss of focus.

Authority problems rarely announce themselves as authority problems.

They show up as:
▪️delayed decisions
▪️execution drag
▪️over-explaining under scrutiny
▪️discomfort with enforcement
▪️confidence that rises and falls with external reception

These are often mislabelled as:
mindset issues
confidence gaps
communication challenges
discipline

In reality, they are signals that authority has not been recalibrated to increased responsibility, visibility, and consequence.

Authority is not a trait.
It is not confidence.
It is not experience.

Authority is the internal system that governs:
how decisions are claimed
how judgement is enforced
what holds veto power under pressure

When that system is underdeveloped or outdated, leaders compensate personally.

They think more.
They prepare more.
They carry more.

That works temporarily.
Then it becomes fragile.
Eventually, unsustainable.

This is often the point leaders seek support.
Not because they lack capability, but because the role has outgrown the authority system they are operating with.

My work focuses on strengthening authority, presence, and execution at leadership inflection points, particularly after moments of challenge, scrutiny, or exposure, where visibility is high and failure carries consequence.

Not all leadership challenges are developmental.
Some are architectural.

I am very driven and ambitious. That is why I work with people on leadership and career growth.

By the nature of who I am and the work I do, I naturally attract driven, ambitious people, even when they do not always see themselves that way.

As 2026 plans move into execution, professional ambition can quietly take over our mental real estate if we are not vigilant, leaving little room for responsibilities that carry equal or greater consequence.

Ambition is not wrong.
But it is incomplete.

I regularly anchor myself in a simple but sobering truth. It keeps me in balance. 

It is this:
I have the rest of my life to work.
I do not have the rest of my life to do everything.

The work will always be there. It will evolve, change shape, expand and contract. The nature of the work will shift many times over a lifetime.

I do not have that same flexibility in other areas of my life.

Parenthood is one of them.

There is a narrow window to teach, to train, and to be present in the ways that matter most. What must be formed now cannot be postponed without consequence. Some things are not recoverable once the season has passed.

The same is true of health.
I do not invest in my health later when I have more time. That work must be done now if I want to enjoy the rest of my life with strength and capacity.

This is why understanding seasons matters.

Life is not an endless stretch where everything can be deferred. Some responsibilities are permanent. Others are seasonal. Leadership requires discernment about the difference.

A thriving career on its own will not make you happy. Equally, fulfilment does not require sacrificing ambition or dulling your drive.

The real question is not whether to choose one over the other.
It is how to hold both wisely.

Some things are “now” work.
Miss the season, and the cost is real.

That is the reflection I return to when my drive wants to go faster than is wise. I am inviting you to hold the same.

Not what can be done later, but what must be prioritised now.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲.

You know you are accountable.
You know delay carries cost.
You know the decision ultimately sits with you.

Yet authority is still negotiated internally.

You wait for alignment.
You weigh your discomfort.
You seek a warm reception for the decision.

None of this looks like weakness.
It looks like thoughtfulness.

But when your judgement does not hold final authority, execution slows quietly and credibility erodes over time.

Most leadership challenges at senior levels are not about competence.
They are about where authority actually sits when it matters.

Unfocused attention is one of the most expensive leadership leaks of our time.

Many of us are focused on conserving resources such as time and money.
But are quietly leaking value elsewhere.

How?

Through unfocused attention.

When attention is scattered, pulled emotionally and mentally in too many directions, the cost is not immediately financial. It is cognitive. Strategic. Human.

Bandwidth erodes.
Judgement weakens.
Priorities blur.

What often follows is a familiar pattern:

→ Reliance on fragmented, generic, or ad hoc advice, often consumed without context

→ Absence of a coherent structure for personal, career, and professional growth

→ Weak support and accountability systems for making sustained strategic gains

The impact is rarely felt in the short term.

Instead, it shows up as delayed progress towards the future many say they want.

Because when focus is diluted and structure is absent, the cost is paid later through slower decisions, misaligned effort, avoidable friction, and capacity that never fully develops.

Guarding focus and managing inputs is a discipline, not a preference.

Many leaders are entering 2026 with clear plans. 
Fewer are paying attention to what will matter most in the end.

Many of us have stepped into the year with clear intentions:
Your growth plan.
Your development plan.
Your career plan.
Your leadership plan.

All of that matters.

But here is a reminder worth carrying into 2026:

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

There is no final “there” that suddenly delivers fulfilment, confidence, or peace.
No single milestone that completes you.

It is the journey, not the destination, that shapes us.

The lessons.
The discernment.
The conviction.
The depth of understanding.

These are formed in motion, not on arrival.

When we become overly focused on the destination, it becomes easy to miss what is actually doing the shaping and, in doing so, to prolong the journey.

Growth does not happen at the finish line.

It happens while you are navigating uncertainty, making decisions, recalibrating, and continuing anyway.

So plan well.
Be intentional.
Aim high.

And also pause long enough to experience the journey you are in.

That is where life is happening.
That is where leadership is being formed.

That is my message for 2026.
