Inspired by biomimicry (animal behaviour) our technology Orcanet (tm) came to life - optimising the way technology and animals can co-exist in our oceans 🌊

In Havguard AS we use artificial intelligence to make our underwater communication system auto-adaptive to environmental conditions, designed to reduce:
 
- energy consumption
- emission power
- time the fauna is exposed to communication signals
- usage of frequency bands used by animals to limit disturbance
- usage of sound and light in communication, and more usage of the magnetic field

Our team is inspired by our love and care for animals, and based on that we found ways to reduce human impact on nature, simultaneously increasing the quality of service. 

The Orca inspired us because it has a highly complex and yet efficient way of communicating. Their communication signals are using a complex modulation scheme and is adaptable for short and long distances. It's a discrete and interesting animal 🐋

Our technology was developed based on our core values, and the same values motivates us to believe we have a role to play in developing the next generation #underwater technology 🌊

Welcome to my profile 🇳🇴

I'm Emilie, a Norwegian entrepreneur and CEO of the deeptech company Havguard AS. 

The world-class expertise in Havguard has spent 14 years of work solving problems in underwater communication and sensing. This has resulted in new and revolutionary technology beyond the state of the art. Since the start of our company in January 23 we have had quite a journey; for instance we were a scouted company for the 401 Tech Bridge/ NavalX cohort BlueTIDE, on panel of disruptive technologies in NATO HQ for the Digital Ocean, venture in the selected CDL Atlantic Ocean program and last but not least a company in the Masschallange BlueTech program. 

My background (PhD.c) is from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), as well as the Nordic program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Karolinska Institutet, University of Oslo, University of Copenhagen, and NTNU). I have two abroad courses (Kings College of Applied Security Studies): one in “AI for national security” and another one in “Wargaming and Strategy”.

Additional to Havguard I have founded Ethica Invest (🇳🇴).

Strategic manager with budget and personnel responsibilities. The unit is responsible for the departments quality and development work which includes; Procurement and Contract Management, Digitization, Management Support and overall responsible for the department's development work, incl. to manage the department's call-off budget, competence development budget and customer budget.

2023 recipient of honorable mention for the Quality award and finalist for the Progress award.

Quality and Development Manager

The unit consists of three deputy unit managers and 39 employees, all of whom are specialists in there respective areas. As unit manager my goal was to achieve better results through strategic planning. This was achieved by tracking the labor market and adapting the services we provide accordingly, overseeing our work process and collaborating with other authorities.

During my three years as Head of Unit, the unit's success rate improved from 33.3% (before I took office 2017) to 62.7% (2018 44%; 2019 48.7%; 2020 55.2%; 2021 April 62.7%). This is partly why I was promoted to Head of Unit for Quality and Development of the Department.

General Manager

Lead the project group consisting of an IT developer, a procurement coordinator and several external consultants. The objective was to gather the needs of the different silos in the organization and make sur that the system supported the information flow both inside and between the silos. The system also needed to be costumer friendly and be able to communicate with our partners systems through API.

Project Manager - Laid the foundation for a procurement of a new business system

Development, Implement and quality assurance of work methods. This is achieved by leading projects, working groups and steering groups.

With focus on the Swedish Transport Administration's procurement requirements within social considerations, coordinate the City of Stockholm’s/labor market administration's resources and efforts to supply the industry with the right competence.
