Our deepest wounds aren't from others' words.

In my early months of coaching, I questioned whether I could support Directors, VPs, or CXOs.

Because I'd never held those titles myself.

I was certified by one of the world's most prestigious Ivy League universities, but I still doubted my abilities.

There was a voice asking me, "Who do you think you are?"

Not everyone in your life

The longer you stay in the wrong place,

The more it costs you.

I was in a job that looked good from the outside.
But I knew it wasn't right. 

Inside, it felt heavy.

I told myself to wait.

It could be temporary.
I needed thicker skin.
Maybe I was expecting too much.

That's how it starts.

You adapt to survive.

That stays with you
Because success should not feel like survival.

Access grows.
Doubts get smaller.
Confidence grows faster.

Support is not just kind words.
It is action.

It looks like:

Saying her name in the room before she feels ready
Challenging bias even when it is subtle
Redirecting credit when it is not given
Recommending her for bigger roles

This is not charity. It is leadership.

When you shorten someone's learning curve, your impact grows too.

You can't change the years you walked alone. 

But you can make sure the next woman doesn't have to.

The most powerful leaders create more leaders.

Sometimes the room doesn't see what you bring.

Your ideas get overlooked. 
Your work gets underestimated. 
Your voice gets less attention than it should.

I remember being in a meeting and sharing an idea.
No one reacted. 

Five minutes later, someone else said the same thing and the room lit up.

I remember sitting there thinking maybe I'm the problem.

That's how doubt quietly starts.

You begin questioning yourself. 
You work harder to prove you're good enough. 
You explain your thinking longer than needed. 

Over time, others' opinions start shaping how you see yourself. 

And that's where the real risk begins.
Outside doubt slowly becomes self-doubt.

When that happens, leadership gets smaller. 

↳ Bold ideas stay quiet 
↳ Achievements get played down 
↳ Decisions wait for approval

The pattern gets familiar.

You second-guess your gut. 
You soften your words. 
You take up less space in the room. 

And the quieter you get, the easier it is for others to skip over you again.

Strong leaders learn something important:

Recognition does not create value.
Your value exists long before anyone sees it.

Don't wait for permission to own your skills. 

Don't shrink to make others feel comfortable.

Your value stays the same, 

even when someone else can't see it.

International Women’s Day matters.

What leaders do the next day matters more.

For one day, the work of women gets special attention.

Messages of appreciation appear.
Progress is celebrated.
Stories are shared.

And that matters.

Recognition helps people see valuable work.

Leadership, however, shows up in daily behavior.

In meetings where every voice is heard.
In the chances people receive equally.
In decisions where different views are welcomed.

Supporting women at work grows through everyday leadership choices.

Do we listen when a woman shares an idea?

Do we recognize her work in the room?

Do we invite her into important decisions?

Do we give her the same space to challenge and lead?

Do we help her grow?

These moments shape careers.

They open doors.
They build confidence.
They shape future leaders.

Some of the best lessons in my career came from women who challenged my thinking and raised the bar for everyone around them.

Their impact showed in their work.

Through their ideas.
Through their courage to speak up.
Through the standards they held.

That kind of impact does not appear once a year.

It grows in everyday moments.

In how people are heard.
In how credit is shared.
In how many chances are given?

International Women’s Day is a reminder.

What matters most is what happens the next day.

And the day after that.

And every day that follows.
