Presently since June 2022, I am working here in Khara Hydro Power Project (03x24MW), Saharanpur (UP) located at downstream of the power channel, which has been extracted from the Yamuna river from Dakpathar Barrage (UK).

Here, as a Junior Engineer (Test), I am responsible for the following duties assigned to me and beyond:

✅ 220kV Switchyard (06 Bays).
✅ 220VDC Battery System, etc.
✅ Office Documentation & Stock.
✅ Protection System (GRP, UCB, etc.).

Here, I am also responsible for managing the "Monthly Energy Bill". Working in hydro power project is all together a different experience.

Previously I worked in Parichha Thermal Power Project (1140 MW) located on Jhansi-Kanpur national highway since June 2011 to June 2022. 

I had a good exposure working here in Electrical Maintenance Division (2X210 MW) dealing in the following:

✅ 6.6kV Switchgear.
✅ 250 MVA Turbo Generator.
✅ 220kV Switchyard (07 Bays).
✅ 220VDC Battery System, etc.

Thermal & Hydro Power | Simplifying Power Sector News & Insights |

Indian Railways awarded 1GW renewable energy tender to multiple agencies including Ayana Renewable Power, Jindal Power Limited, Bhalki Solar Power, ReNew, ACME Solar, etc.

The project will supply round-the-clock (RTC) clean power to the railway network at ₹4.35/Kwh.

Recently, second unit of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project (3x660 MW) has declared commercial operation.

GTPP is owned by Neyveli  Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL), which is a joint venture of NCL India Limited and UPRVUNL.

75% of the power generated by this projecf will be transmitted to UPPCL and the other 25% will be sold to Assam power utility.

GE Vernova and Siemens Energy is in agreement to invest $7 billion to rebuild the Seria power sector.

In this agreement, combined-cycle gas turbine power plants with a total capacity of 4,000 megawatts will be developed.

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) tendered for 500 MW/2000 MWh standalone BESS in Rajasthan.

Patanjali Ayurved Limited, UVS Energy (Ultraviolet Solar Energy), Makepower.in, Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports, and @Divakar Renewable recived the contract.

The winning tariff, ₹2.85k/MWh monthly, is reported as the lowest ever in India. 

With the completion of this project RRVUNL to install a total of 6 GW of BESS in Rajasthan.

Advait Energy Transitions Limited secures ₹21.30 crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for HV Emergency Restoration System (ERS).

ERS is used to quickly restore power transmission in case of tower failures or line disruptions, which helps utilities to maintain grid reliability and minimise the downtime.

It will be executed in 18 months.

NHPC Limited synchronised first unit of (8x250 MW) Subansiri Lower HEP (Arunachal Pradesh) with national grid.

Another three units of this project is expected to commission in December 2025.

Arunachal Pradesh will receive 12% free power as per national hydro power policy.

According to the National Electricity Plan (NEP), total installed capacity is projected to surge up to 900GW by March 2032.

A total ₹32 lakh crore of capex investment is estimated from FY26 to FY32.

SJVN has invited bids for a tender to develop the 2000 MW PSP.

The project will be developed on a “Build, Own and Operate” basis with 40 years of design life.

The scope of work will include:

• Selection of the site, 
• Studies and investigations,

• Attend the faults,
• Find the root cause,
• Rectify the same,

Journal it for the future, more than 90% of the faults in the power sector are repetitive in nature.
