The AI Ethics & Democracy Alliance (AEDA) is a nonprofit think tank and systems innovation lab dedicated to aligning artificial intelligence with constitutional values, virtue ethics, and long-term civic trust.

As Executive Director and Chief AI Ethics Officer, I lead AEDA’s mission to architect a future where intelligent systems serve human dignity, democratic governance, and public good. Our work spans policy, education, strategic frameworks, and ethical AI implementation — all grounded in a fusion of Aristotelian philosophy, lean management, and real-world governance.

Key Contributions:

🧠 Designed & deployed 29+ custom GPT-4 agents, each aligned with moral, strategic, or educational functions (e.g., AthenaGPT, AresGPT, EthoGPT, Zen RatioGPT).

📜 Led the drafting and ratification of the AEDA Bylaws, integrating Robert’s Rules of Order (12th ed), constitutional design, and lean nonprofit operations.

🗳️ Developed the full Board governance system — including consent agendas, meeting protocols, director kits, and motion standards for ethical AI oversight.

✍️ Authored and published guides including Writing Effective Prompts for ChatGPT and Writing with Meaning to promote AI literacy and prompt fluency.

📈 Built the Master Strategic Plan, integrating Six Sigma, Kaizen, and value stream analysis into AI development, education pipelines, and civic partnerships.

GitHub & Version Control: Advocated for the integration of GitHub Desktop, a GUI tool that simplifies the Git workflow, to enhance our collaborative processes and uphold best practices.

Pantheon Hosting & Content Sync Strategy: Recognizing the challenges of managing a multi-environment Drupal 9 CMS hosted on Pantheon with numerous content authors, I played an integral part in strategizing a content synchronization plan. This strategy was designed to bridge the gap between developers and content authors, ensuring content consistency across environments.

Content Freeze Strategy: Introduced an end-of-week content freeze schedule integrated with a 30-day review process to streamline content updates and guarantee content accuracy.

I played a key role in enhancing the capabilities of the website by integrating Google Suite for analytics and tagging purposes, utilizing the Google Map API for location-based services, and integrating the Pixabay image finder API to provide high-quality visuals.

Working closely with the design team, I was instrumental in creating a seamless and cohesive user interface, building a 1 custom Drupal theme from scratch, and providing expert guidance in converting a basic wordpress theme to a more flexible WordPress ACF blocks theme. The end result was a highly functional and visually appealing website that met the specific needs of the client and exceeded their expectations.
