I am an executive coach who helps leaders master energy, focus, and flow. My coaching is a unique blend of neuroscience, sports science, and my experience as a senior leader in highly volatile, complex and uncertain environments. 

I helped build three companies past $8B in valuation with two IPOs and one private exit. 

I have been a hacker, researcher, athlete and explorer most of my life. 

When I was 19, I started hacking my brain with light and sound, meditation, and neurofeedback.

This led to a lifetime of finding ways to train the brain just like an athlete would train the body.

I chased flow through mountaineering, rock climbing, and endurance events discovering a formula that worked for a while but was not sustainable. 

My training  in yoga, meditation, and breathwork helped me respond to the stresses of working as an executive in the cybersecurity industry. 

Further studies in neuroscience helped me ground the training in the latest knowledge about the brain and how it responds and adapts to stress. 

This experience led me to create the Corporate Athlete Program, to help leaders do the best work of their lives, while feeling great at the same time.

I was live on a webinar when the dog walked in.

We started a movement.

To help corporate professionals master their energy, focus, and flow.

Pro athletes train and recover every week to prepare for performance. 

On the contrary, most professionals are expected to perform every day without a lot of training and recovery, sometimes at the expense of their mental, emotional, and physical health. 

I was one of them, performing as a C-level executive at a public cybersecurity company, experiencing chronic stress and physical and mental health issues. I was performing but losing my joy and motivation.

I had the pleasure of joining Akash Ganapathi, Eric Speciel, Nate Meadows to talk about Flow vs. Burnout at the Daniel Opine Fireside Chat a couple weeks ago. 

Turns out there is a pretty good formula for this. People need:

– Curiosity
– Passion
– Purpose
– Autonomy
– Mastery

When you line all five up, you feel energized and motivated to do audacious things, with other people, for long periods of time. 

The trick is to make sure you are recovering along the way. It feels so good in this state that you don't want to leave it. However, this state is neurobiologically expensive and burnout can sneak up on you.

Taking the time for active recovery (not just rest and relaxation) makes all the difference in your ability to perform over long periods of time.

Your bucket list is making your life smaller.

You've got 47 things you're "supposed" to do before you die.

Machu Picchu. Write a book. Learn Italian.

Meanwhile, you're missing Wednesday.

The actual texture of your life isn't in those 47 moments. It's in the 47,000 moments between them.

Having coffee with a friend.
Playing on the floor with your kid.
Being frustrated at the grocery store.
The panic before a big presentation.
The relief after.
All of it counts.

I ditched my bucket list three years ago to live in higher resolution.

I still have the big events. But it's the little events in preparation that are the important ones. 

Training feels different when you don't have expectations. I'm just running because moving through trees makes me feel alive.

Dinner with my wife hits different when it's not squeezed between "important" things. It IS the important thing.

Your nervous system knows the difference between obligation and engagement. It knows when you're performing life versus living it.

Those bucket list items? Half of them aren't even yours. They're borrowed dreams from others or some version of yourself that doesn't exist anymore.

Here's a simple tool to reduce anxiety before a big meeting, event, performance, called the 4-7-8 Technique (courtesy of Dr. Andrew Weil): 
 
1️⃣ Find a quiet spot 
2️⃣ Sit comfortably, back straight 
3️⃣ Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds 
4️⃣ Hold your breath for 7 seconds 
5️⃣ Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds, making a "whoosh" sound 
6️⃣ Repeat 4 times 
 
This will activate the parasympathetic nervous system, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and flood your brain with oxygen, improving your focus.

Calm is not something that happens to you.

When you have space, time, and no disruptions.

That time will never happen.

Distractions, transgressions, and pain will always arise. 

Waiting for the perfect state is a perfect way to suffer.

Calm is a practice that can be trained.

Calm is a decision you make and re-make over and over.

Calm is when you feel the tightness in your chest, the anger arising, and you respond well anyway.

You then gain freedom from the trained reactions.

The event is just the event.

Neutral and temporary, cause and effect.

Take three breaths before you answer a challenge. Listen fully before planning your responding. Name the emotions, feel them, and respond well despite them. 

You have the capacity to hold these and still respond with high quality.

Be the beach, not the surf.

There is all kinds of advice on time management.

...and it can be helpful.

I manage energy, focus, and flow instead.

Time is fixed. You get 24 hours a day like everyone else.

Energy, focus, and flow are variables you control.

Energy - When do I have the most cognitive juice? Am I recovering enough? Are my intrinsic motivations aligned with the work? Your brain works differently at 7 AM versus 3 PM. Schedule accordingly.

Focus - Do I know what done looks like? What are the first three moves? Am I working on the right thing or just the urgent thing? Define outcomes before you start moving.

Flow - Have I stacked the triggers and removed the blockers for myself and team? Created space for deep work? Flow is not mysterious, it is a well-known state.

Most productivity advice shows you how to optimize your time.

I optimize for quality throughput instead. I protect my peak hours, clarify my targets, and remove everything that breaks concentration.

The result? I work fewer hours and ship more value than I used to.

My 'Perfection' Was Sabotaging a Billionaire Client 🤦🏻‍♀️


A year ago, I was 30 minutes into a session with a self-made billionaire. And I was failing…

It wasn't that I was unprepared. I knew his work. I'd read his book. His decisions move markets. The fact that he'd chosen me over any expert on the planet...

...was precisely the problem.

Instead of coaching, I was performing.

My delivery was polished, logical, and sterile. 

The energy, the bold analogies, the inspirational spark I'm known for? Gone. I was scanning every word, trying to prevent missteps.

High-achievers know this state. It’s the "perfection trap." It’s the gap between your A-Game and your "approval-seeking" game.

I was treating him like an idol, not a client. And this performance was sabotaging us both. I knew if I stayed there, I'd lose his respect and deliver zero value.

So, I took a calculated risk. I paused the session.

"Listen," I said. "I'm comfortable with overachievers. I am one. But you operate on a completely different level, and I'll be honest, I'm nervous. This 'am I measuring up?' script in my head isn't helping me bring my full power. How can you help me fix this?"

I didn't ask for pity. I defined a problem that was blocking his results and invited him to solve it with me.

He paused for two seconds. Leaned toward the screen. "The fact that I am sitting here as your client means you measure up."
 
That was it. The entire exchange took 15 seconds.

The spell was broken. The "performing" state shattered. I didn't say another word about it and dove directly back into the session.

For the rest of that call, and the next ten weeks, I coached him from a place of grounded, full power. I brought the V12 engine he had paid for.

The Takeaway: 

That 15-second exchange was more than a nice moment. Introspect, it was a masterclass in power, trust, and performance.

Vulnerability isn't a weakness; it's a strategic tool.

The "perfection trap" is a cage of your own making. The fastest way to break free is to name the dynamic in the room.

By admitting the "performance," I didn't lose power, I reclaimed it. I replaced a fragile, performative authority with a grounded, authentic one. I gave him a reason to trust the real me, not the polished shell.

He, in turn, didn't patronize. He met my directness with his own. He didn't just reassure me; he stated a fact and immediately closed the loop. He refocused us on the work.

Perfection is a barrier. Authenticity is a bridge.

Don't let your "performing self" sabotage your "powerful self." When you feel you're slipping, you have the power to stop, name the problem, and reset the terms.

That is where true, high-level work begins.

In the past few months I’ve been approached for tentative investment offers of various amounts - anywhere between $2M-$25M in discussion - for Ascendra, the AI solution for food addiction recovery I’m building. I didn’t pitch, investors came to me. 

I appreciate their warmth and consideration. It’s encouraging to know people who are the most sensitive about  capital have faith in what I do and are willing to consider voting for me with dollars. However, I’m not looking for external funding yet. 

Regardless, being approached to consider opportunities like this feels like a full circle being closed.  Here’s why: 

Twelve years ago, I was 28. I was desperately trying to raise funds for my first venture — an app that makes internal referrals easy. I remember sitting down face to face with the lead of a highly respected VC. It was a 1.5-hour conversation at the lobby of the hotel he stayed in during his short stay in New York. He rejected me. However, he was kind enough to share with me 1) the profile and qualities of the founder that attracted the best investors (serial entrepreneurs, visionary, endurance, purpose, personal experience of hardship etc…) and 2) the ideal profile of the company that they were looking into investing. 

I left the conversation with very clear understanding of why he couldn’t give me a “yes” at that moment. There was disappointment, but I didn’t think about the “no”negatively because it just meant I was ready…yet. 

This morning, when I was sipping my hot chocolate while returning the email to the VC who discussed a generous offer, and realizing it’s the third investor pitch I’ve received in a short time, that image of the old me, on the same rainy day in November, flashed back in mind.

I sit here contemplating the conversation from twelve years ago. I realize although I didn’t work to check every box that person said, I’ve already embodied that profile of the ideal founder that VC was looking for — clear vision, the execution, the story, the mindset, the way high-stake conversations are handled, pressure soften and alchemized….

These things just come with experience and years. 

I’m no longer seeking approval now, and I’m fully present when doing what I believe in - mostly unaware of how the external world think about it. To me, that’s a beautiful closure. 

In my understanding, investor relationship is a high-commitment and high-impact relationship. If I do work with investors in future, I want to start from people I know well and trust.

Out of 10 clients who have struggled with weight and eating problems for decades and still feeling they are losing every single day to that battle, 7 told me it started when someone in the family made a comment when they were teens. 

Not having the peace and freedom within costs them too much joy, confidence and too many opportunities in life. 

I’ve had this experience first-hand at the age of 19, when I weighed 50 lbs heavier and bingeing daily. 

And if my mother didn’t pretend not seeing the 50 extra or made a single comment about how I looked staggeringly different, I could’ve struggled with that physical and emotional weight for a lot longer.

Ten years ago, my first client was an ex co-worker who wondered how she could eat bimbimba daily while keeping fit too. 

My second client was a single mom in Philly who walked dogs to support her family.

My third was a Canadian personal finance genius — he was building his company while I was building mine.

My fourth was a leader of a meditation retreat center in LA (he had the face of a Hollywood star!)

I could still name at least twenty of my first clients — their faces, their stories, dreams, even some of our earliest conversations.

Those memories are etched in me.

Today, I coach a wide spectrum of clients — from common 9-5 people, small business owners, C-suite leaders, listed-company CEOs, top artists, billionaires, to leading scientists, etc. 

But this year, as I hit the ten-year mark of my business, the people who come to mind most often are not the ones with big titles.

This post will expose the entire weight loss industry. 

Or at least, part of it.

It’s way bigger than you think, but it needs to be addressed.

It’s about GLP-1, the popular medical weight-loss treatment.

One of my clients is a neuroscientist who spent years working in GLP-1 research and development.

She sat across from me in our first session, and I could tell she was nervous.

"I need to tell you something,"

I leaned forward.

"I know how it works. I know the data. I know the mechanism better than almost anyone."

Don’t.

Because the problem isn't your feeling.
It's your wiring.

And you can't medicate your way to new wiring.

You have to build it.

That researcher who helped create the med?

A Story Of The Little Red Dress That Found Me Back ❤️ 👇

A few weeks ago, I was invited to this gorgeous Diwali party hosted by a world-famous artist here at her home in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

The hostess kindly wrote “dress to dazzle” on the invitation.

I thought for a moment about what to wear — and this little red dress came to mind.

There’s a story behind this dress.

A decade ago, I was in New York City.

I passed by a boutique on 5th Ave and saw the red dress — stunning, elegant, unforgettable.

But I was rushing to a meeting in 20 minutes, so I told myself I’d come back later.

After work, I returned.

It was gone.

New season, new collection — and I missed my chance.

From time to time, I’d think about that dress — not because of what it was made of, but because of what it represented: timing, alignment, readiness.

Years later, while walking down a street in San Francisco, I saw it again — the exact same dress, in the window of the same brand.

Coincidentally, I had another meeting in 20 minutes.

But this time, I walked in, picked up the dress, didn’t even try it on.

I simply took it, swiped my card, and left.

When I put it on later, it fit perfectly — exactly as I had envisioned years ago.

God’s delay isn’t God’s denial.

When something is meant for you, it will find its way back — when you are ready to claim it.

Meeting 1: A client who turns 45 tomorrow 🎊. Our birthdays? Just one day apart.

Meeting 2: One of my very first clients from 10 years ago. Didn’t expect to meet him in person one day. Enjoyed Burmese food together. Surprised to discover that he just turned 50 this month, and I’m turning 40 this month. Suddenly it made perfect sense why our paths crossed back then.

Meeting 3: A recent client. We grabbed coffee and tea to go, walked 10K steps together while having fun conversations regarding fertility, learning new languages, and parenting …and yes, another November birthday. 🎂

Life has a funny way of weaving people together at the right moment, in the right season.

💛Just to let ya know: up until 8 weeks ago, for almost half of this client’s lifetime, self-control with eating or weight was non-existent. This included over-indulgence whenever food came to mind, finishing plates regularly beyond fullness, gaining weight, severe binge eating disorder, lots of fears, self-esteem at rock bottom, and constant shame for over a decade.

When the client said “didn’t even want to” eat the things on the nightstand, it’s the ‘nightstand exercise’ we do starting from Week 5 of the Lean Instinct Formula. 

This exercise involves the person putting what used to be their biggest addiction food on the nightstand every night and observe how they react. They are absolutely free to eat it if they want to.

At the beginning of the program, every client finds even entertaining with idea SCARY despite the excitement of looking forward to it. 

The secret is this: by week five, their old ‘algorithms’ which drove them to be addicted and out of control have already been rewired into ‘algorithms’ that automatically lead to detachment and self-control without the need to control. 

And when I say ‘algorithms,’ let me clearly define it: 

It’s how the mind perceives and responds to food, and how the body senses, processes food, plus how both organically orchestrate eating by default.

Once the shift is done, you walk into the old challenging situation with a completely different experience.

Reverting back to the old patterns is almost impossible because the brain has grown new ‘programming’ that supports itself and the body has adapted to the new equilibrium.

People needing to lose weight see weight loss. Vacations become enjoyable. Shame is replaced by peace and self-love.

This level of freedom and healing is unthinkable to most people who have been struggling with chronic binge-eating and craving issues for years. 

And even the registered dietitian who I collaborate with on the food component of Lean Instinct Formula told me “I’ve never seen someone recover from bingeing and food addiction!” when we first met. 

By then, she had worked with hospitals for many years assisting thousands of patients with food issues. I remember saying to her,  “You are talking to one.” 

Yes— I’ve been through that dark night of the soul and came out strong. And I understand every part of it.

I love asking clients at graduation, “How did you find me 10 weeks ago?” And today’s story: 👏🏻

“I had just finished a binge. I was driving on Route 29 and felt awful — so awful that before I even pulled over, I typed ‘food addiction coach’ into Google.

Your website was the first one that came up. I clicked. It had a lot of words.

So I pulled over to actually read it.

After the first section, I crossed my hands, lowered my head, closed my eyes, and said:
