We can all agree that life is typically too serious and stressful, especially on a “professional platform”, so I enjoy breaking that norm with some laughter in both my content and sales process.

Professionally: I specialize in building and refining sales motions and top of funnel processes, bringing a unique twist that “breaks through the noise” of the modern day dreaded norm of what people believe is good revenue generation.

Before moving to Sales, I had the pleasure of coaching and treating thousands of clients through rehabilitation and personal training for almost 10 years, where I now channel the same energy and passion in leading GTM teams.

The company restructured, your team got cut, and now you’re back on the market trying to explain why your last 3 roles only lasted a little over a year each

Every rejection email says the same thing: “We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate long-term commitment to their employers and require a minimum of 2 years in your last position” 

The irony?

The average SDR tenure is 1.4 years and AEs barely make it 18 months

VP of Sales tenure has dropped from 26 months to just 19 months in the last 7 years

This is the new baseline for our entire industry and it’s accelerating

Between 2022 and 2024, 578,000 tech workers got laid off

That’s 655 people per day!

And another 112,000 lost their jobs in 2025

It’s almost as popular as posting a selfie on LinkedIn 

And when people do choose to leave

They’re responding rationally to the system we built

Job switchers get 10-20% raises and “loyal” employees get 3-5%

Meanwhile, tenure doesn’t predict the things we actually care about

It doesn’t tell us if someone can communicate well, if they’re coachable, or if they can build pipeline and close deals

Yet 42% of employers won’t even interview “job hoppers”, regardless of their past performance, but then complain that they can’t find good talent

In an industry where the average rep vacates after 18 months and the average VP is asked to leave in 19

It’s time to stop screening for a stability that doesn’t exist

The system is broken, and the people stuck in this catch-22 deserve better than being rejected for a metric that means nothing
