I met Benaiah Rawlings, the CEO of Zeahomes, a Ghanaian real estate agent, on Facebook. 

Turns out we went to the same high school but life took us in different directions.

When we met on Facebook, I was a content writer. 

I wrote social media posts and shared them in my feed and Facebook groups. 

He needed a content writer for his blog and he liked my posts. So I got an offer and a job.

The role was to write and publish 2- 3 articles weekly.

It was my first official job as a content writer.
I had never done any real research before.

I took up the challenge.

🎯I watched YouTube videos to learn how to improve my content-writing skill.

🎯Spent hours reading blog posts online for inspiration.

🎯Gathered industry insights and ideas from Ben.

🎯Scoured the internet and used tools for content ideas.

The result of my hard work was evident. He was impressed and hired me full-time.

I wrote, edited, and published 20+ articles on his blog during my time working for Zeahomes. 

This job harnessed my storytelling, research, and writing skills.

5 years of writing online in 1 post.

2020- COVID struck. Started to learn web design.
Failed because my Laptop was bad.

Started graphic design with my phone. 
It didn't last too because of Laptop issues. 

Learned text animation. 
Got a client and made my first online buck.
Started writing stories on Meta late 2020.



2021- Got serious with writing on Meta.
Gained a lot of traction.

Organised content writing classes.
(Free and paid batches)
Got signups for both.
Joined writing competitions but didn't win any.

Heard of LinkedIn and downloaded the app.
Froze the app later on.
Won an award for sharing stories on FB.



2022- Discovered Upwork.
Finally got a client later after sending many proposals. 

Started to take LinkedIn seriously. 
Got a writing gig with less than 500 followers. 
Hit 1k and 2k followers.



2023- Signed 2 clients.
Hit 3k followers.

Juggled vet school and writing online.
Took a ton of breaks from LinkedIn.



2024- More breaks.
Started writing on Linkedin in the 2nd half. 
Landed an international contract job.
Hit 4k followers. 

Went on another long break.
Graduated from vet school. 
Came back to Linkedin and Upwork. 
Hit 5k followers.



2025:
Helping busy Founders/Ceos save writing time and build authority on LinkedIn. 

Attracted opportunities.

This time, I’m locked in!

My personal brand is in a dry spell.

Your work will compound.

Not overnight, but in time.

And when it does, you’ll realize the dry season wasn't punishment after all.

It was preparation for great opportunities.

P.S. What's the biggest lesson you learned during a dry spell?

October- Didn’t sign a single client. 

November- Signed a high-paying client in 3 days.

Here's what I did:

1) Built in public. 
I used to sceptical about this.

Infact, I remember cringing when I made that post early November.

But it works. It keeps you accountable because people are watching.


2) Sent DMs 
6 months ago, I was terrified of sending DMs.

Now, I don’t miss it.

If you want to land clients faster, get it in Dms.


3) Get comfortable with rejection. 

Embrace them, fail and learn faster.

With every No I got, I refined my DMs and offer until I got a solid Yes!


4) Nail your positioning.

A strong positioning answers the questions:
~Who do you help?
(Get specific)
~What services do you offer?
(How you help)
~What is the outcome?
(Results/Benefits)

Once you get this, write content that reflects your positioning.

5. Fix your LinkedIn profile.

Once you nail you positioning, optimise your profile around it so it hits.

Uncertainty is something that seems scary,

Of course, there are moments when you're

So we know when to celebrate small wins,

And when to push ourselves a little more.

Because that balance between both sides

By the end of the day, those are our goals,

And nobody else will achieve them for us.

We need to show up for ourselves daily.

So figure out when to be your own friend 
and when to test your current limitations.

mindset and how we see setbacks today.

You can't always directly control them all,

But you can do something much better:

Control how you respond to all setbacks.

Because your response is something you 
control, and controlling that brings change.

And the changes can be powerful enough,

To change the thing you wanted to change.
