I’m Eva Gysling, a three-time Olympic swimmer and executive/team leader with 35+ years in complex organisations. I know real pressure - on the starting block and in the boardroom - and how much potential gets wasted when culture is left to chance, systems are poorly designed, and leadership behaviour goes unchallenged.

My work sits where Olympic mindset, executive leadership, culture and corporate mental health meet. Burnout isn’t an individual weakness, and “tough” leadership doesn’t justify daily micro-suffering - especially when it’s driven by bad behaviour. High performance without psychological safety is a contradiction. If people pay with health or dignity, it’s not performance, it’s system failure and a culture problem.

That’s why I created The Executive Edge - ASPIRE: a clear six-module framework for senior leaders who build healthy high-performance cultures on purpose. ASPIRE turns intent into standards, rituals and tools across:

I don’t train people to “be more resilient” so they can tolerate the intolerable. No glossy wellbeing without accountability. No treating bad leadership as a private issue. Psychological safety is infrastructure, non-negotiable, measurable, and owned.

Social media made the word “mute” feel normal.

Someone’s content annoys you.

Lower the volume on what doesn’t deserve your attention.

3/ Every skill counts - even the ones from “failures.”
4/ The people you surround yourself with matter.
5/ Doubt is normal. But it shouldn’t stop you.

No matter where you are, it’s not too late.

You’re not too old. Too lost. Too far behind.

You’re just beginning a new chapter.

Hard Truth: You either quit or you keep going.

Both hurt. Choose wisely.

Quitting hurts your pride.
Continuing hurts your comfort.

Here’s how to decide which pain to choose:

1/ Is the struggle building you or breaking your values?
Growth discomfort is different from misalignment.

2/ Are you tired or truly done?
Exhaustion needs recovery, not resignation.

3/ Is progress invisible or absent?
Sometimes results lag effort.

4/ Are you quitting the goal or the strategy?
The method can change without abandoning the mission.

5/ Will you respect this decision in a year?
Time clarifies courage.

Both paths cost something.

Harsh truth: Hours worked ≠ value created.

Yet, many companies still reward hours worked over actual impact. 

Long meetings, late nights, and packed schedules often get mistaken.
But does working longer really mean achieving more?
The answer is NO!

The most successful companies know that:

✅ Outcomes > Time spent
✅ Efficiency > Busyness
✅ Impact > Presence

Google thrives because it prioritizes results. 

It’s not about how long you work - it’s about what you achieve.

A high-performance team isn’t one that stays the latest.

It’s one that:
- delivers value.
- solves problems.
- moves the business forward.

So instead of asking “How many hours did you work?”
Always ask “What did you accomplish?”

TV compresses years into neat success stories.

What’s usually missing?
✅ The early stage.

From the outside, it looks exciting.

From the inside, it can feel:
- Uncertain.
- Isolating.
- Mentally exhausting.

Because building something from nothing is rarely smooth.

Here’s what the early phase of entrepreneurship actually looks like:

1/ Failure happens often
→ And most of it never becomes a public story.

2/ Income can be unpredictable
→ Some months reward the effort. Others test your patience.

3/ Your mind never fully switches off
→ The business follows you everywhere.

4/ Doubt shows up regularly
→ Sometimes from others. Sometimes from yourself.

5/ Progress feels slower than expected
→ Momentum takes longer to build than people think.

But none of this means the process is broken.

It means the process is working.

Because entrepreneurship doesn’t just build businesses.

It builds resilience.

And resilience is usually forged in the uncomfortable parts of the journey.
