Leadership is when people feel braver just because you are in the room.

I didn't learn this in a boardroom. 
I learned it by watching who I became around leaders who made me smaller ~ and who I became around the rare ones who made me bigger.

The leaders who changed my life never walked in trying to be the smartest person in the room. 
They walked in trying to make everyone else smarter.

More willing to raise their hand, challenge the idea, speak the uncomfortable truth.

That's what radical kindness looks like in practice. 
It's not soft.
 It's creating the conditions where people stop performing safety and start performing at their best.

Think about it: 
When was the last time you walked into a room and felt braver because of who was already there? 
Now flip it ~when was the last time you were the reason someone else felt that way?

That's the leadership question worth sitting with.

Because titles don't make people brave. 
Psychological safety does. 
Presence does. 
The unspoken message of "I've got your back" does.

If you want to lead, stop asking "How do I command this room?" and start asking "How does this room change because I'm in it?"

The answer to that question is your leadership legacy.
