I achieved the 4-hour work week by Tim Ferris before there was a 4-hour work week by Tim Ferris.

I set out to achieve it in 2003, despite everyone telling me it could not be done. 

And there I was, a 23-year-old enjoying the entrepreneurial genes I had inherited from my serial entrepreneur father, building out what I'd later learn was a CPaaS ("communication platform as a service").

For most entrepreneurs, the first 9 businesses fail and the 10th succeeds. But for me, it was that first one which succeeded (and ran strong for 21 years)!

It was through those babies that I learned about...

I got into advisory for 2 reasons:

1 - Because my 4-hour work week freed me to pursue other things.
2 - Because I loved guiding and advising other people on the strategies and tactics that helped my business succeed.

It started as digital consulting. 

But after immersing myself in the E-Myth framework and mastering it, I became a management consultant, public speaker and workshop facilitator.

I joined companies as a trusted advisor and/or Non-Executive Director, helping businesses of varying sizes and complexities to overcome their challenges and maximize their potential.

•	Completed project successfully within time-frame by guiding the opening of a prestigious International school and ensuring recruitment of all local and international staff.
•	Designed the curriculum and performance management systems.
•	Reviewed documentation of quality assurance and control systems.
•	Constantly updated risk management of project progress and adjusted the plan accordingly towards exceeding project expectations 
•	Conducted training sessions to all departmental heads.

Senior International Project Manager

•	Provided Leadership to the in country project team consisting of 400 teachers on the largest ELT project in the region regarding program expansions and developments.
•	Planned and directed course delivery, curriculum plans, placement testing, grouping and orientation for both staff and approximately 7000 students.
•	Successfully collaborated with the Preparatory Year Dean, Vice Deans and Program Chair.
•	Managed all operations within the KSU’s Preparatory Year Department IEP.
•	Signed off on all academic and financial documents.
•	Coached project partners and achieved all targets for project completion, fulfilling the largest EFL project within the region.

General Manager

•	Played a key role in the design of systems which allowed smooth operations of teacher arrivals (c. 400), accommodations, visa processing, contracts, and other related paperwork.
•	Provided disciplinary actions whenever necessary and handled all grievance procedures.
•	Developed, updated, implemented HR-related policies and procedures and ensured quality of standards were maintained.
•	Counselled fellow managers, advised teachers and students with regards to academic and pastoral matters.
•	Ensured best practice by following all procedures and policies regarding first aid, health and safety, security and emergency procedures amongst staff and students.

Senior Training Specialist

I failed every exam in school. Got expelled more than once.
Nobody expected much from me.

But I rebuilt, step by step.

In 2001, I began my first leadership roles, and over the next 15 years, I worked in senior positions across several organisations, building teams, developing talent, and helping people grow.

And despite the demands of my full-time roles, I always made time for what mattered most to me: helping others rise. Coaching, mentoring, and quietly guiding people to handle the weight of leadership became my unofficial side-hustle. Over time, the impact grew and so did the demand.

Then in 2016, everything changed. I pulled into the office one morning, into a job I actually loved, when I heard a quote from Steve Jobs:
"You only have one life. Don’t waste it building someone else’s dream."

That hit me. I realised I didn’t need to keep working for someone else, I could build something of my own.

So I put a plan in place. I enrolled in an MBA to sharpen the blend between practical experience and academic rigour, did take on some work to help me gain momentum again , and then we launched Afia Partners with the rest of my family by my side.

Today, Afia Partners is a leadership transformation company that works with global brands, government departments, and ambitious teams across the GCC, UK, and beyond.
