I’m Falan Blake a nursing student and CNA with a vision to bridge psychiatry, neurology, and nursing research. My journey into healthcare is deeply personal. I’ve lost loved ones to stroke and heart disease, and my child lives with a serious mental illness that changed the course of our lives. 

What drives me is the question why…why the brain and body respond the way they do, and how we can move beyond treating symptoms to addressing root causes.

My focus is pediatric neurology and mental health nursing, with long-term plans to pursue a dual PHD/DNP and position myself as a nurse scientist. I believe nursing can play a greater role in reshaping how we understand brain health from advocating for advanced imaging in psychiatric care to exploring new pathways for trauma-informed recovery.

This isn’t just a career shift; it’s a lifelong mission. My platform will document my academic journey, share insights at the intersection of psychiatry and neurology, and build awareness for research-based nursing care.

Last year was our first Thanksgiving together as adults. I cooked the “traditional” way at first.

We grew up in New York City. His family leans more Latin/Irish in their holiday food traditions, and mine leans more African American. But I never actually spent Thanksgiving with the Latin side of my dad’s family, so our foods were always different anyway.

I went on to become a chef, and by the time I had my own home, I was done with typical Thanksgiving food. Working in restaurants and casinos meant spending the entire week cooking hundreds of turkeys. By the time the holiday arrived, the last thing I wanted was more turkey.

So we decided to create our own version of the day. A blended, non-traditional dinner built around foods we actually love.

I don’t cook professionally anymore, but I still cook for friends and family when they’re nearby. This year, my neighbor already requested his own skillet of southern cornbread. My daughter wants pot roast. And Kevin will eat whatever I put on the table.

As for me, I want crab legs. But honestly, that’s every day for me.

I ✅ Did it. I finished my first college class — English 101 — with an A.

I’ve always been a strong writer, but editing…that’s another story. Structural editing has never been my strength and that’s okay!

Huge thanks to Marie S., who red-marked my drafts to death and listened to me spiral for an entire semester, and to Kevin, my other half, who slept maybe five hours over two days helping me fact-check and research my 12-page Partisan Essay.

Let’s just say, as a criminal defense lawyer, he found the topic far more exciting than I did and I still don’t fully understand what I wrote. 😭🤣😭🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

If it weren’t for the two of them, that A would’ve looked a lot more like a C.

We all have our strengths. Mine isn’t editing or political commentary and that’s perfectly fine.

MOMtrepreneurs™ serves aspiring, new or established enterprising women through its innovative personal development, entrepreneurship training, and multi-channel marketing system. 

MOMtrepreneurs™ Enterprising Women's Project trains, mentor, audition and support enterprising women from high school to college on up in entrepreneurship, personal and social financial responsibility, exponential technologies and future relevancy development.

What started on the playground in 1990 by helping a few moms grew to over a million International subscribers by 2004. 

In 2004, MOMtrepreneurs™ became the first women in business organization awarded twice by the Small Business Administration and recognized by Texas Governor Rick Perry.  

After being recognized by the U.S. SBA Angelina Musik was invited to participate on Trump's Apprentice 3 Season, Street Smarts vs School Smarts, as the founder of MOMtrepreneurs but dropped out due to a traumatic brain injury suffered 5 days prior to the Semi-Finalist taping by Mark Burnett Productions, in San Antonio, Texas.

In 2008 Ms. Musik designed the first Women Entrepreneurial Achievement Program for women on welfare, and in 2010 Ms. Musik was nominated into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame managed by the Governor's office.

The Angelina TV Show

The Angelina Show: a weekly morning TV show where Angelina interviews entrepreneurs at their locations who then share their backstories to why they started their business and how they give back. The Angelina Show broadcasts on PAX TV at 9am on Channel 2.

This show launched October 2004 after I, Angelina, had suffered a traumatic brain injury July 2004. After airing several episodes it was shutdown so that I could heal.

ANGELINA BACKSTORY
At 12 yrs old, my stepdad (from Guam) gifted me six 10-speed bikes to sell on a military base in Germany as one of my first enterprising challenges while mom worked at the German Patent Office.

This was my foundation into becoming a persistent resilient entrepreneur who solves problems beyond my first computer programming experience in high school during the punch card era.

Though accepted into Texas A&M’s University School of Veterinary Medicine program, I schooled local in San Antonio, TX, in business, communication and RTF (radio, TV, film).

In 1990, I launched MOMtrepreneurs around raising my two kids while running my home registered childcare. Then, a home cleaning/organizing business in Katy, TX to help me fund my Christian Pop Album (cassette) which I sent to radio stations in Europe for airplay in 1996.

Entrepreneurship helped me fund me and my kids out of domestic violence from TX to WA State in 1999. While in hiding, I co-founded our media, marketing and web tech company with my now husband of 27 years Daniel.

From designing a version of the UPS tracking system to a browser-based HR training tool for Starbucks, etc.. we were the ‘quiet street smarts’ for hire.

In 2001, web tech behind MOMtrepreneurs evolved as a private community with functionality FB would eventually tout in 2005. "Sometimes, it's better if you don't play the game."

Awarded by the U.S. SBA in 2004 for web syndicating my radio/TV show episodes which applied education-based marketing strategies to reach, teach and introduce those seeking help to trustworthy solution providers online.

Five days before filming for the Apprentice 3 in San Antonio in 2004, I was hit by a truck, sustained a traumatic brain injury, and would slowly fade into the background for 15 years until a 2019 comeback.

Wellness by Choice Mission: educate the masses with introductions to trustworthy people, products, and services.

Jan 5th, 2021, my 31-yr old son Chris died after 3 weeks in a trauma hospital where he declined due to neglect. 

If only Chris would have learned how to better identify illness symptoms to prevent his outcome.
