Chief Executive Officer

I’m Falan Blake a nursing student and CNA with a vision to bridge psychiatry, neurology, and nursing research. My journey into healthcare is deeply personal. I’ve lost loved ones to stroke and heart disease, and my child lives with a serious mental illness that changed the course of our lives. 

What drives me is the question why…why the brain and body respond the way they do, and how we can move beyond treating symptoms to addressing root causes.

My focus is pediatric neurology and mental health nursing, with long-term plans to pursue a dual PHD/DNP and position myself as a nurse scientist. I believe nursing can play a greater role in reshaping how we understand brain health from advocating for advanced imaging in psychiatric care to exploring new pathways for trauma-informed recovery.

This isn’t just a career shift; it’s a lifelong mission. My platform will document my academic journey, share insights at the intersection of psychiatry and neurology, and build awareness for research-based nursing care.

Falan Blake

Last year was our first Thanksgiving together as adults. I cooked the “traditional” way at first.

We grew up in New York City. His family leans more Latin/Irish in their holiday food traditions, and mine leans more African American. But I never actually spent Thanksgiving with the Latin side of my dad’s family, so our foods were always different anyway.

I went on to become a chef, and by the time I had my own home, I was done with typical Thanksgiving food. Working in restaurants and casinos meant spending the entire week cooking hundreds of turkeys. By the time the holiday arrived, the last thing I wanted was more turkey.

So we decided to create our own version of the day. A blended, non-traditional dinner built around foods we actually love.

I don’t cook professionally anymore, but I still cook for friends and family when they’re nearby. This year, my neighbor already requested his own skillet of southern cornbread. My daughter wants pot roast. And Kevin will eat whatever I put on the table.

As for me, I want crab legs. But honestly, that’s every day for me.

I ✅ Did it. I finished my first college class — English 101 — with an A.

I’ve always been a strong writer, but editing…that’s another story. Structural editing has never been my strength and that’s okay!

Huge thanks to Marie S., who red-marked my drafts to death and listened to me spiral for an entire semester, and to Kevin, my other half, who slept maybe five hours over two days helping me fact-check and research my 12-page Partisan Essay.

Let’s just say, as a criminal defense lawyer, he found the topic far more exciting than I did and I still don’t fully understand what I wrote. 😭🤣😭🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

If it weren’t for the two of them, that A would’ve looked a lot more like a C.

We all have our strengths. Mine isn’t editing or political commentary and that’s perfectly fine.

• Worked as a team to carry out Inspection, Testing, and Simulation of Foxboro DCS & Triconex PLC
Controllers.
• Carried out Continuity tests on instrument panel, Hot and Cold Loop checks on Control Valves, Mixers, MOVs,
Transmitters and other smart instrumentation etc.
• Punch List checks in line with the Site Acceptance Test
• Supervised daily activities of Vendors, and wrote reports to the Instrumentation Head of
Department.
• Monitored control room Cabinets, servers, and systems performance and made reports

Instrumentation and Control Engineer

FEDDO GROUP

• Prepared E&I software list, RFQ, CTRs, MTOs, MDRs, Work Execution Plans, to meet with project scope, Design & detailed engineering of electrical and instrumentation work scope for Marine based natural gas systems and other offshore/onshore LNG solutions, such as the generation of Instrument lists, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable lists, etc.

• Prepare specifications and datasheets in accordance with project requirements to ensure technical and regulatory compliances are met.

• Coordinated with electrical and instrumentation equipment vendors, to ensure compliance with project specifications. Selection of electrical equipment types, cable sizes and protection type and review drawings, calculations, design reports, etc. by vendors.

• Reviewed technical quotes, recommend the selection of suitable electrical equipment and instrumentation, cables and other system components based on process/project requirements to assist procurement/commercial team.

• Took part in inter-discipline coordination work between engineers from other disciplines to ensure quality and interfacing of electrical part in larger package supplies. 

• Conducted inspection for panels, instruments and electrical equipment, cabling system installations on skids, interface connections, witness FAT/SAT, supervise installation and power turn-on at site.

• Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

• Preventive Maintenance & Functional check on Pressure, level and Temperature transmitter.

• Preventive maintenance on Emergency Push button and stroking of control valves.

• Preventive maintenance and Calibration of Instruments on High Integrity Protective systems using Calibration tools 

• Preventive Maintenance and Functional Checks of Fire and gas devices such as (Gas detectors, Smoke detectors Manual Alarm
Call Point and heat detectors.

• Preventive Maintenance on Valves, SOVs, Positioners and Gauges.

• Preventive Maintenance and safety integrity test on Fire and Gas devices

Field Instrumentation Technician 

Nigeria LNG Limited

• Carried out instrument maintenance activities during periods of NLNG Train shutdowns.

• Removed and reinstated/replaced Field instruments such as control valves, transmitters, Solenoid operated valves, Proximitors, Gauges, during turnaroundmaintenance

• Calibrated & installed transmitters and gauges, performed calibration check and loop test of transmitters and control valves and re-filled wet-legs for wet-leg level transmitters.

• Carried out accessories change-out on valves in line with the VMS (Valve Maintenance Strategy).

• Carried out sensitivity test on vibration probes.

• Installed and tested turbine and compressor instruments (spark plugs, flame detectors, bleed valves, purge valves, temperature elements (RTD & Thermocouple), and gapped vibration probes.

•Demonstrated Zero energy both at the Field auxiliary Room/multimeter testing on every line andobtained necessary approval from the Area operator before any task.

•Assisted in the review, development, and implementation of site preventative maintenanceprograms.

• Ensured the accuracy of test results and prevent damage to materials by properly calibrating and maintaining their equipment.

• Developing processes and procedures to support quality assurance activities and rigorous testing.

• Conducted material tests using a variety of Non Destructive methodologies and technologies.

Non Destructive Testing Inspector

• Initiated setup, software installation/system configuration and Hardware fault
diagnoses/troubleshooting whenever reported.

•Devised an efficient means of Database Management and backup system.

•Supported the University MIS department to provide a satisfactory network coverage by installingAccess Points to all the designated location and attend to all complaints from university staffs and
students.

I am Marshal Abraham, an  Electrical Engineer, I work on various instrumentation and control systems projects for the oil and gas industry - Refinery, Offshore, LNG, Subsea, and onshore. 

I am responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining plant Instrument, electrical systems,  subsea controls, and process safety systems, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

I have a strong background in plant Operations and maintenance, FEED and Detail engineering design deliverables, asset integrity management, PLC, Quality Control, and Project Management, with the use of Design and Planning Software. I also have IT skills and experience in data analysis and reporting. I graduated from Federal University -Oye Ekiti with a B.Eng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, where I learned the fundamentals of electrical engineering and gained practical skills in laboratory and field work. 

I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills to solve complex engineering problems and contribute to the sustainability and efficiency of the energy sector.
