Alternative Language Teacher

I am a career and technology educator with a proven ability to adapt, learn, and synthesize information. Give me something to accomplish, and if I don't already know how to do it, I'll learn it and master it.

I graduated with a degree in Mass Communications with every intention of beginning a career in broadcast media, but the allure of adventure pulled me in. I moved to Japan after graduating and began my journey teaching English. 

Now, I am working to help students find their love for technology and STEAM careers. I foster creativity and succes- through-failure in my classroom through mastery grading. Teaching them industry tools like: Adobe photoshop, illustrator, and Premier Pro gives my kiddos the opportunity to explore STEAM careers in graphic design, animation, and A/V production. My students are using those skills to create content and build portfolios.


I love tech and developing new skills in it. I am currently self learning my way through Javascript and Python.(Though I wish I had more time!)  When I am not working or learning, I  enjoy a good karaoke session. My weekends are reserved for time spent my with wife and my kiddo! Our favorite things to do together are building legos, swimming, and telling silly stories.

I have a hard time asking for help. My neurodivergence often keeps me worried about troubling others. I value people reaching out. It helps dissolve that barrier.
