Being able to write in a way that sounds like a real person with charisma, snark, and emotion will be a big advantage over the next few years.

I personally don't care about an em dash. But I *do* care that everyone is starting to sound very generic and... just boring. 

You may be wondering: But Megan, this doesn't fit into my "do more with less, AI-everything, 9-9-6 content that the algos love!" so I'll give you a few tips on how to do this with a modern twist:

1. Find ~20 pieces of content that just sound great to you. You actually read them and they resonated. It sounded like a human wrote them. The vibe, style, tone all resonated. 

2. Take screenshots of those and feed them into a ChatGPT project. Ask your AI minion to analyze and summarize trends and give insights into the style, tone, and structure so that you have the _language_ of what good looks like to you.

3. Now, this is going to be the hard part: WRITE YOUR FIRST DRAFT OF WHATEVER YOU'RE WORKING ON YOURSELF. I know, scary stuff.

4. Give that first draft to that same ChatGPT project and ask it to review it. Ask it to look over it like an editor would and give feedback on how to make it sound more like the way you want to sound.

5. Don't worry about being perfectly formatted. Just take the feedback, write another draft, and publish it.

Over the holidays, I built an app (and it is live in prod, people!) using Lovable (obsessed). 

As part of this project, I also challenged myself to approach the supporting marketing stack with a fresh perspective.

I didn't want to choose the hottest CRM/website builder/whatever because of the hype, I wanted to choose what made the most sense for a fun little app about native plants.

One tool that shocked me with its smoothness was ActiveCampaign. It honestly wasn't even on my radar for email until a coworker (thanks, Dominik Dorosz!) mentioned that it sounded cool. 

It features a neat AI capability that perfectly builds email workflows based on a prompt in just a few seconds. I was blown away from the first couple of minutes.

And integrating via API took a total of 2 minutes with Lovable, which would have been the biggest stumbling block for me as a non-coder before. 

If "build something cool" is on your 2026 vision board, I am proof that you can get it done in about a weekend.

I used Lovable to rebuild my personal website, and it was pretty incredible. Here are two things I learned:

1. You can prep too much. 

I came armed with a pretty big system prompt that I worked on in Claude, including style, layout, etc. I ended up nixing that altogether and just giving Lovable some screenshots of websites I liked. That second iteration turned out much better. Also, they now have templates for websites, which I learned about after 🫠 .

2. It's a similar effort but a better outcome.

I went into this project thinking it would be more difficult to use Lovable for a website vs something like Webflow, Squarespace, etc., and while some things took more time, in total, the time investment was probably similar, and the outcome was much better. In total, I rebuilt my site in ~4 hours, which includes writing content.

I am a fan of using AI to think like an editor for your writing, especially if you feel less than confident. But please, for the love of LinkedIn, make it sound like you. Develop your own writing style, your own voice.

Things that are probably not in your voice:

- Any sentence about doing something "quietly". Am I to believe that we as humans are suddenly being very demure and understated? 
- Everything you write has this very "it's not this, it's that" binary narrative.

If you're nervous that you won't sound professional in your writing, I can assure you, I'd rather a messy and interesting post than a perfectly hollow one.
