Some people say I’m Ron Swanson.

And though you’ve never seen us in the same room, I can assure you I’m not. I don’t go hunting, I’ve got no history with women called “Tammy”, and I don’t work for the US Parks Department.

Much like Ron though, I’m a connoisseur of fine steaks and whiskies. And also, winning.

Now, I’m not saying Wotter came from my desire to spend more time eating meat and drinking spirits – but it certainly helps. In more ways than one.

See, from these situations, our best ideas stew. So, alongside Paul (the Leslie to my Ron), I indulge, often. For strategy reasons, and stuff.

Convenient? Yes. But it also works.

As for Wotter, we’re the only platform that measures the effectiveness of employee engagement initiatives. We track the initiatives, you tailor them. The data leads the way.

Wotter is an AI powered Employee Engagement platform. With the simple (yet difficult!) aim of making work better for everyone.

Here I've been the sole Front End developer since conception. I've built the client facing dashboard from the ground up using a Python/Flask backend with Jinja templating, with JS, jQuery, HTML, CSS and Bootstrap on the front.

Main responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining (and fixing!) new features.

Alongside the dev work I'm also involved in maintaining the Wotter website. Marketing. Social Media. Discussions around company direction, planning and priorities. You name it!

Aap3 is a specialist recruitment agency, operating mainly in the Technology and Defence sectors.

Working here gave me a huge amount of exposure to companies and tech that I probably otherwise wouldn't have even heard of. From tech giants, to hedge funds and start-ups, the work was always exciting, and guaranteed conversation with some extremely interesting people. 

During my time, I successfully filled roles around the world (including roles in Tokyo, 8 hours time difference - yikes!), and doubled the record for a single Permanent placement fee.

As part of the resourcing team, my main duty was to support our Recruitment Consultants in finding the best candidates the market has to offer.

On top of the traditional Resourcing role, I took on additional account management responsibilities for a number of clients. This allowed me to develop my industry relationships, and really get to grips with the latest developments in the world of Technology.

Hey there, I’m Jamie. 

I'm an ex-tech recruiter with a Psychology degree, who's now a Head of Product/Front End Dev/bitofeverythingelse here at Wotter.

Wotter was created with the aim of making work better for everyone. And with the help of a tiny push from a worldwide pandemic (and the deletion of £500k in upcoming revenue), it was born!

The problem with Wotter being born, was that none of us had any clue about how to actually make the thing...Being an ex-recruiter, I'd only ever spoken to devs. So whilst I knew the lingo, building a useable product was something else. 

So, we headed over to Udemy to try and do something about that. I picked up a Web Dev course for the grand total of £12 and as a result, taught myself how to code and began building the platform that is helping companies maximise their employee engagement today.

3 years later and I'm still doing what I love. Building products that help people! Though I'm a bit better at it now...
