Most people put their LinkedIn activity on pause in December. 
The thinking is that everyone is slowing down, so it is better to wait for January.

The problem is that by the time January arrives, momentum has to be rebuilt.

❌ Your audience needs warming up again. 
❌ Your profile needs reactivating. 
❌ Your pipeline needs restarting from cold.

December is one of the easiest months to stand out. There is less noise, fewer posts competing for attention, and more decision-makers planning their priorities for next year.

If you use this time wisely, you can begin January with warm conversations, visible activity and a clearer sense of who is engaging with you.

You do not need to work harder. You just need to stay present and consistent. A few small actions now can create the head start others will be scrambling for in the new year.

Most people hear ‘social selling’ and picture endless connection requests, pitch-heavy messages, and automated follow-ups. That is not what builds real business.

Social selling is not about how many people you can reach online. 
It is about how well you can build trust, show up consistently, and create space for genuine conversation.

Relationship selling means you are focused on the person, not just the platform.
It means you:

👉 Listen, not just broadcast
👉 Nurture, not just transact
👉 Stay visible, even when you are not “selling”

Anyone can automate messages. 
Very few take the time to ask, “What does this person actually need right now?”

If you want your LinkedIn presence to work for you, start thinking less about digital tricks and more about human touchpoints. The technology is there to open the door. The relationship is what keeps it open.

At first, I blamed the algorithm.
Then, I blamed my content.

I wrote clever hooks.
Posted more often.
Even sent “personalised” DMs to strangers.

Nothing changed.

People weren’t buying.
They were scrolling. Watching. Noticing.

Because I was trying to impress.
Not to build trust.

That’s when everything shifted.

I stopped chasing likes.
Started showing up with something real.

Stories.
Small conversations.
Space for people to respond.

No pitch.
No pressure.

Just being helpful. Being consistent.
Being human.

And slowly… the right people came to me.

Because here’s the truth:

People don’t buy because you post more.
They buy because they trust you.

And trust?

It’s built one small moment at a time.

So, if LinkedIn isn’t landing right now...

Don’t shout louder.
Don’t sell harder.

Just show up better.

📢 When Transparency on LinkedIn Stops Feeling Safe

This week I saw something that should worry every professional on this platform.

A legal holiday photo shared on LinkedIn led to someone being investigated and arrested.*

Not because the photo was illegal where it was taken. But because it crossed an invisible line somewhere else.

LinkedIn encourages us to be open, authentic, and human.

But the moment that transparency is interpreted differently in another jurisdiction, the consequences can be serious.

LinkedIn’s policies make it clear they can limit visibility, label content, remove posts, or restrict accounts when they believe rules or local laws are violated.

Their User Agreement also states that they may remove content without notice if it conflicts with regional law or platform standards .

So here’s the dilemma.

We’re asked to show more of ourselves to build trust, but the more we share, the more exposed we become.

And for many professionals, that creates a real fear of posting anything that might be interpreted the wrong way.

🤔 The real question

Should users accept that visibility leaves them open to the most restrictive laws anywhere their content appears?

Because conversations build relationships.
And relationships drive everything else.

The more I focused on that, the more consistent and human this platform became.

And none of it feels like an ending.
It feels like the start of better conversations to come.
