Odoo just taught the European market a €7 Billion lesson.

The news just dropped: Odoo executed a €60M secondary transaction at a €7Bn valuation (with AVP & Alkeon Capital).
This comes just one year after their €500M round at €5Bn.

Fabien Pinckaers didn't sell his company.
He didn't IPO.
He just let pressure out of the valve.
This is exactly what I mean when I say Liquidity = Longevity.

If Fabien had been "starved" of cash five years ago, Odoo might have been sold for €200M.
Because he had access to secondaries, he could afford to say "No" to early offers and build a €7Bn giant.

Most European Founders don't have this luxury.
They are stuck in the "Starving Founder" trap.

Let’s look at the reality for the average Series B Founder (Source: Creandum/Sifted 2024):
🔹 Median Founder Salary: €159,000.
🔹 Median VP Sales Package: €275,000.

Read that again.
The person who invented the product makes 40% less cash than the person selling it.

"But the Founder has equity!" investors say. "They have €40M in stock!"

Let’s talk about that stock.
It is 99.9% illiquid.
You cannot pay a mortgage with it. And if the company sells low?
That €40M becomes €0.

I see Founders of €100M companies living in rented apartments, terrified of asking for a raise.
So what do they do?
They sell the whole company early just to secure their future.

The Result:
🇺🇸 The US Founder (who took cash off the table) swings for a $10B IPO.
🇪🇺 The European Founder (who is cash poor) sells out for €100M.

Odoo proves the alternative works.
Let founders take chips off the table.
It’s not "cashing out."
It’s "locking in" the patience required to build a Decacorn.

If you want a Founder to take risks, give them the safety to do it.

🏛️Le Patrimoine (Gestion) : La boîte fait du bénéfice ? Proposez immédiatement les placements intelligents, n'attendez pas la fin de l'année.

Avant, connecter tout ça était un enfer technique. Aujourd'hui, c'est natif.
La barrière technique est tombée. Il ne reste que la barrière psychologique.

Ce n'est pas un bug informatique. C'est l'effondrement d'une nation.

À Téhéran ce matin, on ne regarde plus le prix des produits, on regarde l'heure. Car entre le matin et le soir, votre argent peut perdre assez de valeur pour ne plus couvrir le repas du lendemain. Ce n'est plus de l'économie, c'est de la survie.
Weimar 1923. Zimbabwe 2008. Venezuela 2016. Iran 2026. Les époques changent, mais la sanction mathématique reste la même : quand la création monétaire déconnecte de la richesse réelle, la monnaie meurt.

Pendant que l'épargne des Iraniens part en fumée, Ali Khamenei trône sur un empire estimé à 95 milliards de dollars (via le Setad). Une fortune qui ne vient pas de la production, mais d'un mécanisme implacable : la confiscation systématique et "légale" des biens immobiliers et actifs des citoyens, pour "leur donner une leçon".
 
C'est ici que la leçon économique devient universelle.

L'Iran subit un "perfect storm" :
1. Déficit de crédibilité : Comment faire confiance à une monnaie émise par un État qui spolie ses propres citoyens ?
2. Trappe à liquidité : Pour empêcher la fuite, l'État coupe l'accès aux cryptos et à Internet. L'argent est piégé.

L'Iran nous rappelle brutalement ce qu'est vraiment la monnaie Fiat. Ce n'est pas du papier. Ce n'est pas des chiffres sur un écran. C'est un contrat de confiance.

C'est la promesse que l'État protégera la valeur de votre temps et de votre travail. Quand l'État devient prédateur, ce contrat est rompu et la monnaie retourne à sa valeur intrinsèque : zéro.

La stabilité monétaire est un luxe invisible. Quand la confiance disparaît, la monnaie s'évapore. Et la liberté avec.

The IPO is becoming a relic. Clay just proved it.
Clay just hit a $5B valuation.
Not through an IPO. Not through a merger.
But through its second employee tender offer in 9 months.

Think about that. In the old world, employees waited 10 years for a "liquidity event." They were paper-rich and cash-poor until the bell rang on Wall Street.

In the new world, liquidity is continuous. Clay’s valuation jumped from $1.5B → $3.1B → $5B in less than a year. And crucially, they let people cash out along the way.

Startups are staying private longer (10-15 years). If founders want to retain top talent, they can't ask them to wait a decade for a payday. Regular, structured liquidity is the new "vesting cliff."

This shifts the entire wealth management paradigm. It’s no longer about "planning for the exit." It’s about managing progressive liquidity.

The smartest companies are building their own internal stock markets. And the smartest employees are treating their equity like active compensation, not a lottery ticket.

Liquidity isn't a destination anymore. It's a habit.

I see it every week.
Early employees at Next40 unicorns sitting on €500k+ of "theoretical wealth."
Yet, their banker laughs when they ask for a mortgage.

While VCs secure their management fees...
While Founders negotiate secondary cash-outs...
The builders are left holding a lottery ticket with no expiration date.

We tell them: "Wait for the IPO."
Spoiler: The IPO window is closed until further notice.

An asset you cannot sell isn't wealth. It’s a golden handcuff.

It’s time to turn paper money into real life.
Liquidity shouldn't be a privilege. It should be a feature.

The "Private" Market is effectively being privatized... again.

The $3B+ acquisition of Coller Capital by EQT Group confirms the single most important trend of 2026.
But if you look closely at the recent wave of deals, you’ll see there are actually two different wars being fought simultaneously.

Look at the roster:
EQT Group acquires Coller Capital ($3B+)
Goldman Sachs acquires Industry Ventures
Morgan Stanley acquires EquityZen
Charles Schwab acquires Forge

On the surface, this looks like simple consolidation.
In reality, it is total Vertical Integration.

The War for "Pipes" (Distribution):
Players like Morgan Stanley and Charles Schwab aren't just buying assets; they are buying the marketplaces (EquityZen, Forge).
They are building Walled Gardens where they control the company cap table, the trading venue, and the wealth management clients buying the shares.

The War for "DPI" (Product): Players like EQT Group and Goldman Sachs are buying the specialists (Coller, Industry Ventures). In a world where IPOs remain scarce, they need Secondaries to manufacture liquidity and return capital to LPs.

Liquidity is no longer just a "feature" of the private markets.
It is the primary product.

The institutions are no longer waiting for the exit door to open.
They are buying the building so they can install their own doors.

As these giants internalize the secondary market, will we see better price discovery, or will liquidity become a premium service reserved for the biggest ecosystems?

Don’t die poor!

We have a glitch in the matrix.
Physically, we are all trying to be Bryan Johnson. We track our sleep, we drink the green sludge, and we cold plunge. We are engineering our bodies to live to +100. 🧛‍♂️

But financially, we are investing like we were born in 1940.
We play it safe. We hoard cash. We assume we’ll retire at 65 and politely check out at 85.
Do you see the trap?

If you succeed your health (living to +100)...
But you fail you wealth (investing for growth)...
You create The Success Disaster.
You end up being the fittest, healthiest 98-year-old in the nursing home... who can’t afford the bill.

To avoid this, you have to defeat the villain of this story: Sequence of Returns Risk.
It means you retire, the market has a bad year, and you are forced to sell assets cheap to buy groceries.
You dig a hole so deep that even if you live to 110, your portfolio never climbs out.
Inflation is eating your lunch.
You cannot afford to be "Conservative."

If you plan to be alive in 2075, you can't invest like a librarian.
You need to invest like an Institution.

How? Sync your Wallet with your Watch:
Stop De-risking Early: You have a 40-year horizon, not a 5-year horizon.
You need Growth.
Get "Un-Correlated": You need assets that don't panic when the S&P 500 crashes.
Look at Private Assets and Alternative Assets.
Manage Liquidity like a Hawk: Cash is your oxygen mask.
It prevents you from selling good assets at bad times.

The Goal is simple:
Die with memories.
Die with zero regrets.
But for the love of God, don’t die waiting for your 60/40 portfolio to recover.

Are you funding a 100-year life, or just hoping for the best?

Dow Jones (The Wall Street Journal & MarketWatch) just integrated Polymarket data directly into their news terminals.
They are placing unregulated betting odds right next to the S&P 500.

Why? Because they realized that a phD in a suit is often less accurate than a degen with a crypto wallet.
We are watching a shift in how the world processes information:
From Prestige ➡️ to Probability.
From Credentials ➡️ to Skin in the Game.

In a world drowning in noise, deepfakes, and hot takes, the only honest signal left is a bet.
Don't tell me what you think will happen.
Show me how much you lost if you're wrong.

The "Smart Money" is stuck. And Europe is running on empty.

We need to stop looking at US headlines and start looking at European balance sheets.

I’ve spent the weekend analyzing the Carta Q2 2025 Report (Global) alongside the latest PitchBook data (Europe).
The combination reveals a "Liquidity Pincer" that threatens our entire ecosystem.

1. The Global Warning (Source: Carta)
Even in the US—the most liquid market on earth—the "Top Decile" of 2017 funds have a median DPI of ~0.5x.
Eight years in the "Best in Class" have returned half the principal.
If the winners are illiquid, do you think the average fund is doing better?

2. The European Reality (Source: PitchBook)
While the US is "stuck," Europe is draining. In 2025, European VCs invested €5.20 for every €1.00 they raised.
Read that again.
The "Burn Rate" of the industry is 5x its "Fundraise Rate."
We are running on reserves. The 2020-2021 "Dry Powder" is effectively gone (<11% remaining).

We are entering a Sovereignty Trap.
LPs (Pension Funds, Family Offices, Banks) need their 2017 cash back to fund the 2026 Deeptech wave.
But that cash is trapped in "Paper Unicorns" that aren't exiting.
If we don't unclog the system, we won't just lose "returns."
We will lose the capacity to fund our defense, our climate tech, and our AI infrastructure.

We cannot wait for the IPO window to save us.
We must provide liquidity solutions and professionalize the Secondary Market.
Not as a "distressed" option.
But as a strategic necessity to turn "Old Paper" into "New Ammo."
Europe’s future innovation depends on it.

The $84 Trillion is a lie.

Everyone is waiting for the "Great Wealth Transfer" to save the young gen.
But as a founder looking at the data, I don't see a transfer.
I see a Horizontal Vaporization.
We assume wealth moves vertically (Parent → Child ⬇️).
In reality, it’s moving sideways (Family → Industry ➡️).

Here is the math:
1. The Longevity Paradox:
We extended lifespan but not healthspan.
Living to 95 isn't free.
Senior living care isn't a bill; it’s an estate-clearing event.

2. The Liquidity Trap:
You can't inherit a house that was reverse-mortgaged to fund the last 15 years of care.

3. The Real Winners: The money isn't flowing to Gen Z.
It’s flowing to:
→ The Healthcare Industrial Complex
→ Private Equity Senior Living
→ Insurance

The Takeaway: If your strategy is "waiting for the check," you are betting on a broken system.
Reliance on inheritance breeds passivity in a market that demands aggression.

The biggest opportunities won't come from managing old money.
They will come from building for a world where everyone has to start from zero.

Don't wait for the windfall.
Build your own. Back to work. 🧱

We are seeing a massive divergence in the market right now.

On one side, LPs and VCs are screaming for liquidity after a three-year drought.
They need exits to validate their 2021 vintages.

On the other side, top-tier founders (Musk, Collison, Ghodsi) have access to seemingly infinite private capital.
They don't need the public markets.
They don't need the quarterly scrutiny.

So, who actually rings the bell in 2026?
