Most new managers think that becoming a manager is the “graduation.” Truth is, it’s the reverse.

When you go from being someone who “executes” to someone who’s managing a team, you go from trading on IQ to trading on EQ. 

You go from doing the actual work to listening to employees, catering to what they want, taking blame, and being the bigger person.

Remember, leaders work for their employees.

The world is full of talkers who complain and envy doers. 

You wanna win … you have to f*cking grind … you have to “rough it” … now what?

Roll up on that business idea and give it a shot, make it happen. Being 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and having regrets that you didn't swing the bat? That's the worst of them all. 

Our at-bat is in front of us. Take a swing!

People don’t get that kindness is the best business strategy.

As I go through my own life, I’m realizing more and more how kindness is such a big part of the equation. It’s not just about sales and negotiation. It’s not just about doing what you love. It’s not just about hustle.

That’s why It breaks my heart that so many people think “nice guys finish last.”

If you give value to someone else first in business, you have the leverage. I truly believe that.

There's so much talk … so little consistent doing. 

Talking sh*t about anyone, even your competitors, is a waste of your time...and talking bad about someone else doesn’t make your life better 💜

I’m gonna draw it out for you all …. whose permission are you waiting for?

It's not how many hours you work. It's how productive you are in the hours you work.

People are counting the wrong number.

The business and life world for that matter is about efficient, fulfilled happiness and high impact when you’re actually awake versus wasting time on silly things...

period!

Community is the last great asset.

When you play out all these chess in your life, it's going to be the only thing left. The people who care about you and the people you care about...they are the ones who will open up the doors in your career -- and in your life.

I'll always bet on that, and I believe that to the end.

Life is ups and downs for everyone...

The reality is most people aren’t joyful because they aren’t reacting to the “down times” well…once you get cozy with the dirt, the bad, the garbage, the issues, that’s when shit gets good 😉

Don’t waste energy

Too many over focus on non controllable aspects of life!

If you have toxic employees within your organization, you’ll have other employees who are scared to have meetings with them.

You’ll have people who are spending time navigating discussions with those employees than actually executing.

Your people will be spending time on politics. Not on execution.

When you build a culture where people feel safe and excited to come to work, they won’t worry about dealing with other employees as much.

When they’re not spending any time worrying, they’re spending time executing. If they don’t have to spend 15 minutes a day bickering or figuring out who’s trying to “ruin” them, they’re free to come up with new ideas and actually do the job they were hired to do.

One of the great missteps of society over the last half century is us losing our way with understanding the value of the generations above us...

Their wisdom, their understanding, their stories. This little move I talk about in this video might change the course of someone's life... and I hope that someone actually considers it and takes action. 

Doing wonderful things for people is always a good idea but when you do it, and in return it actually brings you even more value not just for your soul but for your perspective and maybe remapping the way you see the world is something I wish for all of you.

Out of 254 kids in my high school graduating class, my class rank was 243. Literally only 11 kids were worse at school than me.

A few years back, I reached out to my high school to get my report card and now it sits in a frame in my office. You know why I have it? Because once people see success, they don’t see the sh*t beforehand.

I also have it because kids need to see this. They need to know that being a poor student doesn’t mean you’ll be successful in life … but it sure doesn’t mean you won’t be❣️

I hope we change the convo on grades and success and find the balance 💜💜💜💜

I hope you look back when you're 90 and know you've made a difference. 

So many of you will choose your careers and what you spend your life on because of your parents wishes or pushes when deep down you know it’s not right for you … 

....I have a secret for you … if you truly adore and respect and love your parents, you’re better off fighting it out now because you don’t want to end up like the millions of people who regret and dwell on listening to their folks and now find themselves deeply unhappy in their day to days … send this to a kid or a parent that needs it.

Hope you woke up happy today- oh and that’s how you do the financial success and make it sustainable…you focus on joy first!

Regret is poison. Try to avoid it at all costs!

I don’t even know if my company, VaynerMedia, looks at resumes. I sure don’t.

I hire SVPs and VPs — I did two interviews the other day — and I have no clue where any candidate worked or what college they went to.

Now, do college degrees matter? Yes, of course there are several professions where you need a college degree & many others who only hire from the Ivies, but it's not the standard for everyone anymore.

My company is a real legit company—the hottest Madison Avenue agency out there—we don't even require a college degree. I couldn't tell you what college 99% of my employees went to...

I have no f*cking clue. It doesn't matter. And by the way, other, real companies are taking it out of the equation too. Some of the best engineers ... these kids today are saying, "F*ck college! I'm going to make millions by building a little app."

It's becoming like sports out here. Nobody gave a f*ck that LeBron didn't go to college ... so I think businesses are starting to become like sports...

And before you ask—yes, I'm aware of the irony of using AI to deliver a message about authenticity and vulnerability.

Here's why I'm telling you this upfront:
That script you just heard about admitting "I don't know"? I meant every word. The message is 100% mine. But I'm also learning that being genuine in 2026 means being honest about the tools we use.

I could have pretended this was me on camera. But the whole point of that message was about dropping the facade and building real trust. 

So here's my "I don't know" moment: I'm still figuring out where AI fits into authentic communication.

What I do know is this: delegating the recording to my digital twin freed up 2 hours I spent actually having those messy, imperfect conversations I was talking about. The ones where we figure things out together.

So maybe the real vulnerability here is admitting I'm experimenting with tools that make some people uncomfortable, while trying to stay true to the human connection that actually matters.
