From ₹150 a day to a ₹7.5 Lakh startup: The inspiring story of Zishan and Md. Sahil

In the world of startups dominated by tech grads and funding rounds, it’s easy to believe two 17-year-olds from Dhanbad can’t make a mark.

But Zishan and Md. Sahil thought differently.

▶️ In 2024, with no investors, no office, and no business plan, they launched Proxigo a platform connecting customers directly with skilled technicians for home and electronic repairs.

▶️ The mission? To ensure fair wages for technicians and transparent pricing for customers.

How did they start?

👉 Both worked as daily wage laborers, earning ₹100–₹150 a day assisting repair technicians.

👉 They noticed how middlemen pocketed most of the earnings, while the real workers got scraps.

👉 So, they decided to change the system by removing the middlemen entirely.

What began as a simple WhatsApp group to coordinate local repair requests slowly grew into something bigger.

In just one year:

✅ 3,000+ customers served in Dhanbad

She completed her schooling from Convent of Jesus and Mary, just a regular kid with extraordinary dreams.

She then moved to the US:

📌 B.S. in Electrical Engineering — San Francisco State University
📌 M.S. in Engineering Management & Leadership — Santa Clara University

From Fairchild → AMD → Ungermann-Bass → Crescendo Communications →
Cisco — where everything changed.

At Cisco, she helped drive the company into the switching market,
turning Cisco Catalyst into a $5B+ business.

She led 20+ strategic acquisitions and directly drove multi-billion-dollar revenue growth.

Then in 2008… the brave leap.

She joined Arista Networks, a small cloud networking startup with <50 employees.

Today:

✅ A global tech giant
✅ Competitor to Cisco
✅ Publicly listed & massively profitable

She now continues to lead Arista as President & CEO,
and also sits on the board of Snowflake (and previously Zscaler).
