Well, it’s a construction zone, but it’s my construction zone.

Since the beginning of 2024, my ‘office’ has been one wall of my bedroom. 

Bootstrapping two businesses meant every spare dollar went into growing my team, serving clients, and keeping my own needs at the very bottom of the list.
This year, I decided I had waited long enough.

I’m still a long way from the big goals I have for myself and both companies, but I’m finally allowing myself a small upgrade: a dedicated home office.
In about two weeks, this work-in-progress space will become a full room just for building what is next: a podcast studio, meeting area, and office all in one.

It might not look like much yet, but to me it represents years of sacrifice, a bet on myself, and a reminder that it is okay for founders to invest in their own environment too.

What is one “small” upgrade you have made that changed how you work?

The long work trips are hard. Missing bedtime stories still stings, but I’m also really proud of the life we’re building.

I found a voice memo my son recorded, telling me how proud he is of me for working so hard. 

It now lives on my phone as my little courage button for big flights, big meetings, and anything that makes my stomach flip. (Like these moments below)

It’s a good reminder that our kids often see our effort and love more clearly than we do. 💓 

Parents, what helps you stay grounded on the tough days?

While this may not be the healthiest version of self care.. it’s still my personal preference.

A Lot of People Don’t Like AI Content

(Are you one of them?)

Teams often hesitate to use AI for content because they worry it won’t feel authentic or that it will replace humans entirely.

In my conversation with Charlie Hills 🦩, I asked him the biggest AI myth he encounters.

His answer?

“People think AI can create content on its own.”

Many assume AI will just replace human creativity. “Why use AI,” they ask, “when you can just write it yourself?”

But that misses the nuance.

AI is not a replacement, it is a support tool.

Charlie shared how he uses AI to:

• Experiment safely without risking brand voice

• Get past writing blocks he has never been great at

• Scale ideas across formats such as video, blogs, and posts

The upside? Companies that treat AI as an assistant and not a replacement gain speed, consistency, and creativity without losing authenticity.

AI is not a threat. It is a tool for media-first companies to generate leads and connect with buyers more effectively.

Last year, I stood in a room at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and told everyone 'GPT' was the overused word of the year and AI agent would be next for 2026.

I wasn't wrong. 😆 

Here's what most people still get confused:
• A GPT is an AI feature inside of software.

Is AI terrible or magical?

(Here’s the spectrum Jeremy sees)

I asked Jérémy Grandillon the AI myth he keeps correcting.

He calls it a spectrum.

Some people sit on one end:

“AI doesn’t help. I’ve tried ChatGPT. I don’t trust it.”

Others are on the other:

“I love it. I have dozens of GPTs working for me. It’s magical.”

Jeremy’s view: AI sits in the middle.

Set up right, it can feel magical.

Without context, guidance, or process alignment, it frustrates.

AI isn’t a silver bullet. It isn’t useless.

It’s a spectrum. Knowing where your process fits is what makes it powerful.

Where do you fall on the AI spectrum?

Can you describe your product in one sentence?

(This question tells you everything about your marketing)

I asked Charlie Hills 🦩 a simple question:

“If you were on the marketing team for Stanley, what would your one-line message be for people who are curious about it?”

He didn’t list functions.

He didn’t talk about features.

He went straight to positioning.

“Your AI LinkedIn content strategist.”

That answer stuck with me.

Most tools struggle because they sound like this:

“We help you write posts.”

“We help you create content.”

“We help you automate marketing.”

But that’s not memorable. And it’s not clear.

What Charlie did was define the role the tool plays for the user, not what buttons it has.

Not a scheduler.

Not a post writer.

Not another AI tool.

A strategist.

That shift changes how people understand the product instantly.

It reminded me that good marketing is not about saying more.

It is about saying the right thing in fewer words.

If your product had to be described in one sentence, would people immediately know why it exists?

I've been experimenting with something new.
