Here's the reality:

Great marketing doesn't scream "BUY THIS" at people.

No one wants products shoved in their face. 

Really solid marketing is about: 

- Getting their attention
- Making them feel something
- Staying memorable long after being seen 

These 10 ads nailed it:

1. Burger King
↳ Went straight at McDonald's with zero mercy.
↳ Brutal, bold, and makes you pick a side immediately.

2. Adsum
↳ Watch ad that doesn't flex wealth or status.
↳ Humble, honest, and perfect for inbox fatigue.

3. Grammarly
↳ Shows how one missing comma can ruin dinner.
↳ Awesome way to prove the real value of editing. 

4. O'Donovan's Pub
↳ Fun, goofy, and a little raunchy: everything you want in a pub. 
↳ It makes you want to get in on the joke. 

5. Surreal Cereal
↳ Put their own billboard up for sale.
↳ It's just weird enough to be unforgettable. 

6. DHL
↳ Publicly roasted FedEx and UPS.
↳ It's confident enough to make you want to side with them.  

7. RXBAR
↳ Hooks you with curiosity before revealing anything.
↳ Makes you lean in before getting the pitch. 

8. BMW
↳ Low-key flex that only people in the know will get. 
↳ A classic "come be part of the club" invitation. 

9. Otta
↳ Calls out the exact pain point job seekers feel.
↳ Funny because it's painfully true.

10. Metamucil
↳ Yeah. A poop joke. On a billboard.
↳ Yeah it kinda gross. But it's also super memorable. 

The best ads don't pitch aggressively. 

They ask real questions, get you thinking, and make you feel seen. 

That's how you grab and maintain attention in 2025.

↳ Hold eye contact for 3 seconds per person, then move. 
↳ That's how you make 200 people feel like a one-on-one.

3. The No-Ramble Rule
↳ Every story needs three things: setup, struggle, takeaway.
↳ If your story needs a map to follow, you've already lost them.  

4. The Confidence Gap
↳ The pros use silence like punctuation. 
↳ Drop a line that hits and then pause.

5. The Connection Trigger
↳ Crowds love participation. It keeps them awake. 
↳ Ask something that makes them nod, laugh, or raise a hand. 

6. The "Own It" Move
↳ Screw-ups happen. How you handle them matters.

Networking changed my entire life.  

I'm not exaggerating.

I built an agency that's delivered billions of dollars in revenue. 

And it happened almost exclusively through networking.

But most people treat networking like it's optional. 
Or worse, they think it's fake and avoid it completely.

Here's how it actually works:

1. Hone your craft.

Getting good at what you do is essential to networking.
Think about it this way, people will only refer you if they trust you.

2. Build in public.

You don’t need to grow a following of 10,000+.
Just demonstrate expertise and optimise your social profiles.

3. Give actual damn value.

Could be something as simple as a kind compliment…
Or it could be something of deeper value using your expertise.

4. Make some promises.

Hold yourself accountable and making networking a regular thing.
Have someone close to you check-in on your progress.

5. Be yourself.

People remember how you made them feel, after all.
Unless you’re a d*ck. Fake it till you make it in that case.

(PSA: That last one is a joke.)

I spent years actively investing time into building relationships.

Those connections compounded into opportunities worth millions. 

Networking isn't something you do when you need a job or a client.

The 5 Biggest Mistakes to Avoid

Everyone quotes Buffett for investing.

But no one uses his advice for networking.

Like all "self-made" men, Buffett didn't build his empire alone.

He cultivated next-level relationships that launched him into insane wealth.

At one of his annual shareholders' meetings, he spoke about a trip to Europe.

Not to close deals or scout companies.
But to get the word out about what he looks for in an investment.

Think about that...

Still understood the power of showing up and building relationships.

No matter how rich or successful you are, your network is never done growing.

One relationship with someone at a higher level,
Beats 100 connections with people stuck where you are.

But don't think that "better people" means chasing status or titles...

Your network determines your net worth.
