Motivez is an award-winning youth-led organisation, founded in 2015, that empowers underserved young people aged 14 - 25 to access entry-level STEM jobs and become changemakers. They have directly supported over 11,000 young people across the UK through their grassroots, employability and advocacy programmes where they develop local STEM changemakers transforming their communities. The programmes and mentoring are delivered by relatable young professionals from leading partner companies such as Salesforce, Google, TfL, PwC and Rolls-Royce. This work has been highly commended and supported by the likes of the Royal Family, Sir Lewis Hamilton MBE, Idris Elba OBE and Beyonce.

Promoted to Race Engineer for Season 3 of the Extreme E championship, following the championship win in 2022.

Race Engineer

X44, formed by Seven-Time Formula One World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, made its debut in the new Extreme E championship series in 2021. 

We race in extreme locations affected by climate change to raise awareness of the issues whilst providing opportunities to improve gender diversity in motorsport.

In 2022, we made history by securing the maiden World Championship, after two attempts.

• Enhanced the design of an internal tool and automated the manual input by 60%

• Worked closely with UCL startups helping them raise over £1,000,000 in seed funding 
• Funded 8 startups and led a team of 4 to grow the startup eco-system at UCL
• Managed sponsorship to use as seed capital for high-growth startups 
• Analysed over 60 business plans and shortlisting startups for interviews and the final round
• Organised three final round events with judging panels of top venture capitalist’s and founders 
• Previous judges included Google, Microsoft Accelerator, Accel, Balderton Capital and TechStars

• Saved £50 million in R&D and operating costs through redesigning a component, improving its performance by 40% for the aerospace programs including Trent XWB, Trent 7000, Trent 1000 and Future Programmes
• Pitched design recommendations to numerous Chief Design Engineers, the Director of Aerospace Technology and Future Programmes, the Chief Audit Officer and other stakeholders R-R
• Implemented across all new engine programmes

• Selected to attend the J.P. Morgan Investment Management Spring Week with 21 other students
• Engaged in interactive workshops, case studies, work shadowing and a presentation where we pitched J.P. Morgan's products to senior leaders

George Imafidon MBE is an award-winning humanitarian engineer and social impact leader from Peckham, South London.

George is CEO and co-founder of Motivez, an award-winning youth-led organisation founded in 2015, which empowers underserved young people aged 14 - 25 to access entry-level STEM jobs and become changemakers. They have inspired millions worldwide through their campaigns and directly supported over 9,000 young people in the UK over the last eight years through their grassroots, employability, and advocacy programmes where they develop local STEM changemakers transforming their communities. Their work has been highly commended and supported by the likes of Sir Lewis Hamilton MBE, Idris Elba OBE, Beyonce and the Royal Family where he received an MBE for services to young people and STEM.

In addition to his work as a social entrepreneur, George Imafidon also holds the title of the Young Engineer of the Year 2022/23, awarded by the Royal Academy of Engineering. As an advocate for sustainable motorsport, he works as the Race Engineer for Sir Lewis Hamilton's X44 Vida Carbon Racing team, where he won the Extreme E championship in 2022 to conclude his second season with the team.

His commitment to giving a platform to underrepresented voices was further evidenced by his appointment to the Board of The Hamilton Commission to address the underrepresentation of Black people in UK motorsport. He also serves on the Board of the Co-op Foundation and took a gap year during his university studies to fundraise for the #AB1Million campaign, raising £1 million for the Amos Bursary to ensure talented young people of African and Caribbean descent have the opportunity to excel in education and beyond.

My career in banking has seen me work across all segments of the bank. Beginning in the Barclays UK segment of the company, before working within Corporate Banking for a 2 year stint, with occasional collaboration with the Investment Bank. 

I am now back within the BUK segment of Barclays, working within Business Banking - Eagle Labs, as a Proposition Delivery Manager.

I was proud to represent Barclays UK and specifically Barclays Eagle Labs - in fact to be the one of the only two nominees from the UK's wider Financial Services industry, at this year's awards. Working in Finance doesn't have to reflect a disconnect from social impact and initiatives that benefit the community, that should be driven forward! 💯

Social impact and corporate social responsibility are both beneficial from a Citizenship point of view, but they also build strong financial resilience, amongst undeserved communities. 🙌🏾

I had the absolute pleasure of being asked to create an outfit for Nana Agyemang  who was nominated for the Outstanding Leader at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards (MBCC) this weekend.   Having been nominated for a number of awards this year, he wanted to have an outfit that was going to be a little different.

The dress code was black tie, but it was important to demonstrate that African print can be brought into every dress code.  I loved every moment of bringing that vision to life.

Seeing it all come together was special, but what really made the night was the reaction. We lost count of how many times people stopped us to say if there was an award for best dressed, we would have won it 🤎 

When you pour creativity, culture and intention into what you do, moments like that remind you why you love it.

Proud of the outcome, proud of the night, and excited for more opportunities to create fashion with meaning.
