The job of a ghostwriter:

Put the client's message in the client's words.

But better than they could.

Writing well makes you:

- richer
- smarter
- more efficient
- more persuasive
- more employable

Invest in your writing.

Great writers are great observers

You can't write well until you learn to see things for how they are.

How I write:

1. Stare out the window for 50 minutes
2. Write like a madman for 10 minutes
3. Repeat

And you're just scrolling social media?

The writer's urge to change the world without even leaving your house

The best way to learn writing is

*drumroll*

Write.

Stop looking for shortcuts.

Learn:

- Focus
- Writing
- Persuasion
- Psychology
- Sales

And you will be unstoppable

Noone with the life you want is boasting about it on social media.

Writing well is about thinking well.

The words are secondary.

It's better to write for 20 minutes every day than 8 hours every few months.

I’ve been thinking about the word survivor. It’s a label that sticks, even years after treatment ends. People expect you to be grateful, to have all the answers about resilience and hope. 

But the truth is, some days I still feel lost. There are moments when the fear creeps back in, or when I wonder if I’m doing enough with this second chance. 

In the workplace, we talk about bringing your whole self to work. But what if parts of you are still healing? What if you’re not sure how much to share, or how much people really want to know? 

I don’t have a blueprint for this. Just a lot of questions, and a hope that being honest about the hard parts makes it easier for someone else to do the same. 

Survivorship isn’t a finish line. It’s a process, and some days it’s messier than others. Maybe that’s okay.

As Moira Rose says "One must champion oneself and say, "I am ready for this!'"

There’s a strange tension in being both a survivor and a leader. Some days, I feel like I’m supposed to be the example of resilience. Other days, I just want to be a person who gets tired, who doubts, who wonders if she’s doing enough.

Cancer taught me a lot about uncertainty. About how quickly everything can change, and how little control we really have. That lesson follows me into every boardroom, every strategy session.

I used to think vulnerability was a liability in leadership. Now, I’m not so sure. Sometimes, the most powerful thing I can do is admit I don’t have it all together.

People remember the stories, not the stats. They remember the moments you let your guard down, even if just for a second.

I guess what I’m saying is, you don’t have to be unbreakable to lead. You just have to be real. And sometimes, that’s harder than it sounds.

What cancer taught me about showing up for people at work (that no management book ever did)

I never thought I'd be the person who talks about survivorship at work. For a long time, I kept that part of my story separate. Professional on one side, personal on the other.

But the lines blur, don't they? Especially when you're leading people who are carrying their own invisible stories.

Cancer changed the way I see everything. It made me more impatient with small talk, more curious about what people aren't saying. It also made me realize how much we all need grace, especially on the days when we're just getting by.

I don't have a neat lesson here. Just a reminder that everyone you work with is carrying something. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just notice.

And maybe, let them know you see them.
