When I first moved to London, I knew very little about tech sales.

I quickly realized that the fast-paced environment was exactly what I was looking for, and soon found myself immersed in the BDR world.

Bit by bit, I learned the sales process and developed strategies that helped me succeed.

I studied the craft of sales relentlessly, learning from every conversation, every win, and every loss.

Patterns started to emerge, and I developed a framework — a blend of data-driven strategies and personalized engagement — that helped me consistently exceed my targets.

As my framework solidified, I transitioned into a new role: sharing what I’d learned with others.

My shift from individual contributor to management came when I realized I could not only drive my own success but also empower others to do the same.

In this new chapter, my focus shifted from pipeline generation to people development.

I don’t just want my teams to hit their numbers — I want them to build meaningful, sustainable careers.

I work closely with each team member, tailoring coaching to their individual strengths, and I’ve watched them grow into high performers.

Primer is the world's first payments and commerce automation platform. We offer a unified checkout and payments infrastructure, integrated using a low-code framework, allowing merchants to consolidate and optimise their payments stack.

As a Solution Engineer at Primer, I collaborate closely with our business development teams to identify a prospective client's existing challenges with their payment journey and create a technical solution to present back, illustrating our value and benefits via an engaging story. I'll work closely with the prospect on the technical validation and solution design; once finalised, I then support their developer & engineering teams team on the technical integration, QA/testing and go-live.

Or, in short: I work closely with merchants (from large enterprises to small businesses, across Europe and Asia) to identify and solve payments/commerce pain points by upgrading and transforming their technology stack using Primer’s groundbreaking solutions.

Integration Engineer

My role as a Sales Engineer is to work with internal stakeholders and external client groups, such as top-tier Merchants and Partners who are looking for PayPal and card processing solutions, and help them identify, implement new, and improve existing solutions. 

This engagement involves aspects of pre-sales which include understanding the requirements and objectives, designing the solution in terms of UI/UX and Architecture, through to the more technical side of development support, testing and certification before a platform goes live. 

This role is highly customer focused. I aim to provide functional expertise, analytical insight and implementation consultancy in order to drive world-class buying experiences on different platforms, from the largest e-commerce and retail brands to small merchant businesses. 

Technical ability and agility is necessary to deliver enhancements that have tangible benefits for customers and consumers. Interpersonal skills are highly developed and required - Firstly to build relationships with my customer portfolio as a consultant, expert and trusted partner; Secondly to work alongside internal teammates to support new product development and release, improve team processes and knowledge, and accelerate large integration/sales cases.

 - Conducting and recording survey data by interviewing approximately 100 people, recording responses in spreadsheets and then evaluating the responses

Skills Gained:
- Attention to detail: Working with a large database of responses I had to focus on both recording the data during interviews and data input into excel so that the data entries and hence evaluation would be accurate.
- Professionalism: Experiencing working within an office environment with adult colleagues has taught me the appropriate approach and work ethic I need to succeed within a company.
