This year, the energy started even earlier,
my early-morning flight was already full of Italian founders, operators and investors heading north. You could feel the buzz at 7 AM.

As always, I flew to Helsinki to get fully immersed in the Slush vibes the electricity in the air, the speed of conversations, the density of talent.

A few highlights from this edition:

The panel by InnovUp on global scaling a pleasure to share the stage with friends and top operators like Andrea Gennarini (2100 Ventures), Alessandra Mazzilli (Earlybird Venture Capital) and Salvatore Modeo (The Qube Incubator). Great insights, great energy and a bite of Puglia’s diaspora! Of course I’ve contributed giving the #communitycapital perspective!

The legendary side events hosted by VC funds, associations and corporates (the BACKED VC one is unmissable). The real dealflow happens there.

Dinners, lunches, coffees… always side-by-side with friends like Francesco Cerruti  from Italian Tech Alliance, Nicklas Pavoncelli, Alessandro La Rosa, Vittorio Palma, Leopoldo Angelini, Alex Roggero⚡️ and so many brilliant Italian founders who keep leveling up year after year.

A Hollywood-style main stage, with conversations that set the tone for where Europe is going… Alexandre Prot (Qonto — and yes, community funding!)

Il mercato venture capital italiano sta cambiando pelle! E questa volta, davvero.

Negli ultimi mesi si sta verificando una dinamica che chi lavora nell’ecosistema da anni aspettava da tempo: fondi esteri che guardano attentamente all’Italia, round più maturi, operazioni più ambiziose, founder più preparati e finalmente la sensazione di un mercato che vuole crescere, non solo “sopravvivere”.

Ma c’è un punto che (troppo) pochi dicono chiaramente:

Non è solo una questione di capitali!
È una questione di qualità.

Qualità dei pitch,
Qualità delle narrative,
Qualità dell’esecuzione,
E qualità della collaborazione tra VC, angels, corporate e sì, community capital!

	•	cosa sta funzionando (e cosa no) nelle nostre strategie di fundraising

E quando il capitale internazionale arriva, è perché qualcosa sta iniziando a funzionare sul serio!

Last night in Milan we tested something simple and very “Silicon Valley” for the European ecosystem....And it worked!

The first Community Funding Showcase brought together 50+ #founders, #angels, #operators and curious innovators for an informal, relaxed, high-signal evening:

3 live pitches, zero noise, real conversations, pizza, beer and #CommunityCapital at the center of it all!

We hosted 3 companies currently raising on 3of the main Italian #platforms:

(Anzi 637, perché il nostro sistema lavora sempre e mentre scrivo il numero continua ad aumentare 😅)

Per generare questo volume di meeting B2B qualificati con metodi tradizionali, servirebbero almeno 25 SDR full-time.
Una forza vendita enorme, lenta e costosa.

Noi lo abbiamo fatto con un team ristretto, agile e iper-focalizzato.

Anche se ci chiamiamo SalesMagic non siamo maghi 🧙‍♂️⚡️
È pura ingegneria del processo.

Abbiamo sostituito l'approccio del "volume a caso" con la precisione:

1. Segmentazione (vera): Non spariamo nel mucchio. Parliamo solo con chi è in target.
2. AI Workflows: L'AI non "scrive le email", quello è l'ultimo dei problemi. L'AI analizza i dati, intercetta i "Signals" e ci dice *chi* contattare.
3. Human Touch: 111 di questi appuntamenti sono arrivati da warm calls del nostro team. La tecnologia assiste, l'umano chiude.

La cosa che mi dà una carica pazzesca è che dietro a questo record per il mio team, c'è business vero per i clienti - 3 esempi B2B SaaS:

- Sibill: 59 Sales Opportunities (con PMI).
- Restworld: 108 Sales Opportunities (con Ristoranti).
- Feedaty: 56 Sales Opportunities (con Ecommerce).

Questo mese poi ci siamo tolti qualche soddisfazione internazionale: le nostre email hanno ricevuto risposta dal Marketing Director di Samsung Dubai e dal CEO di un colosso dell'intrattenimento indiano… nessuno è troppo importante per ignorare il messaggio giusto al momento giusto.

Con una cold email puoi arrivare ovunque: anche sulla scrivania del Marketing Manager di Samsung Dubai.

Cosa pensano (quasi) tutti:
Servono gli "agganci". Servono le intro “warm”.
O peggio, servono budget folli in Ads per sperare di farsi notare.

Se pensi che arrivare a certi tavoli sia impossibile, ho una brutta notizia: 
è solo perché non sai fare Outbound.

In realtà forse è una bella notizia, dipende dalla prospettiva 👀✨

Nessuna introduzione. Nessun "amico di amici". Solo una cold email.
Come ci si arriva? Nessuna magia. Solo metodo.

Nessuno è troppo importante per ignorare un messaggio che risolve un problema reale.

L'Outbound, se fatto bene, seleziona. 
Salti la fila e arrivi direttamente sulla scrivania di chi decide.
Smetti di cercare "trucchi" o "growth hacking".
Costruisci un sistema.

Quando abbiamo cominciato a portare risultati ai clienti, dopo pochi mesi abbiamo trovato il primo "happy problem":

il bottleneck era diventato la capacità dei commerciali di gestire le decine di botta e risposta via email.

[fast forward: 10 mesi dopo]

Oggi abbiamo automatizzato ancora più in profondità, vedi sotto: dall'intent scoring alle behavioral sub-sequences fino alla prenotazione automatica degli appuntamenti.

Tutto visibile in real-time sul portale cliente e CRM.

E quindi ora abbiamo un nuovo happy problem:

il bottleneck è il tempo sul calendar dei commerciali.

Gli happy problem non finiscono mai, ma devo dire che in 10 mesi siamo arrivati esattamente dove volevamo:

- costo marginale del lead tendente a zero
- scalabilità via API con un workflow n8n che gestisce 100 o 10.000 lead con lo stesso setup
- bottleneck spostato downstream
- massima efficienza

Quando nel 2009 sono tornato in Italia da Miami (PR di giorno, cameriere la sera) e ho iniziato a lavorare come BDR, passavo le giornate a generare opportunità "alla vecchia maniera":
- analizzavo liste infinite di aziende
- cercavo i decisori giusti
- superavo filtri e centralini
- mandavo recap via email
- aggiornavo il CRM

Dopo 1 anno di questa routine ero già in cerca di un modo migliore 
(infatti divento un Salesforce Champion interno e porto in azienda un metodo più analitico e moderno).

La cosa incredibile che ho realizzato guardando questa foto è che sono passati 16 anni ma il 99% delle aziende continua ad avere la stessa sales routine che facevo io nel 2009.
Uguale identica.

Niente automazione, niente signal based outbound, niente AI enrichment.
Praticamente masochismo… 😅

La checklist definitiva della deliverability in 14 punti dalla mia chiacchierata con Vijay (Head of Customer Support di Smartlead). 

Quando, come Vijay, hai visibilità su MILIONI di email inviate ogni giorno, i pattern diventano evidenti quindi credo che siano dei punti di grande valore:

📬 Email Deliverability:

- Suddividere l’infrastruttura email su più provider per mitigare il rischio di degrado reputazionale
- Inviare più di 100 email al giorno da un singolo account aumenta il rischio di finire in spam
- Limite consigliato: 25-30 email al giorno per ogni casella
- Best practice: utilizzare tre caselle email per dominio
- Creare caselle email dedicate per le singole campagne, così ognuna ha la sua reputazione e si evitano contaminazioni
- Consigliato un massimo di 2-3 campagne per ogni casella email
- Monitorare quotidianamente i trigger logs e riallocare i leads tra le caselle se le performance diminuiscono

🛠️ Email Provider:

- Zapmail & simili: utili per scalare velocemente il numero di caselle, ma non sostituiscono Google/Outlook in affidabilità
- Infrastruttura email solitamente divisa tra Google (70%) e Outlook (30%)
- Google e Outlook sono gli SMTP con la reputazione più alta
- Evita SMTP “massivi”: gli IP condivisi vengono penalizzati dalle nuove policy Google che richiede SPF, DKIM e DMARC corretti, spam report bassi e tassi di bounce quasi nulli

🎯 Email Campaign Optimization:

- Il ritmo della casella deve essere più veloce del time gap della campagna. Altrimenti si perdono invii
- Warm-up sano —> 30–60% reply rate reale
- Preferire l’invio di email in plain text, senza link HTML e senza immagini e niente “template da newsletter”

tldr: Il 90% delle campagne fallisce prima ancora di essere lette, perché l'infrastruttura è debole. Salvatela. Se l'infrastruttura non regge, il copy non serve a nulla. 

Meglio partire blindati nel 2026.

Voglio spiegare il concetto di inbound-led outbound usando un esempio concreto: uno dei miei ultimi post ha generato 18 discovery call.

Ecco cosa è successo nelle 8h successive alla pubblicazione:
- ho ricevuto 6 prenotazioni demo inbound → dimostrano l’effetto del posizionamento + contenuto
- ho creato 6 call da conversazioni aperte nei DM → dimostrano l’importanza di portare avanti una conversazione
- ho creato 6 call da outreach su chi ha interagito → dimostrano l’importanza di capitalizzare su “segnali” come un like o un commento

Totale: 18 call totali in mezza giornata è un risultato forte, “replicabile” e automatizzabile se orchestrato bene.

Tutto parte da questa formula:
Profilo ottimizzato + contenuti strategici + tracking dell’engagement.
Solo così ogni azione inbound diventa un segnale per un outbound ad alta conversione.

Alla fine spesso ci perdiamo in distinzioni futili, inbound, outbound, organic, paid…
La verità è che il business è un flusso unico, per questo preferisco parlare di: GTM flywheel, dove ogni pezzetto del ciclo influenza positivamente quello dopo.
