My 3rd Slush in a row and the magic just gets stronger!

If you work in #tech or #venturecapital, Helsinki during #Slush is the place to be.
A global conference with world-class speakers, thousands of innovators, and an atmosphere that hits you like a wave the moment you land.

This year, the energy started even earlier,
my early-morning flight was already full of Italian founders, operators and investors heading north. You could feel the buzz at 7 AM.

As always, I flew to Helsinki to get fully immersed in the Slush vibes the electricity in the air, the speed of conversations, the density of talent.

A few highlights from this edition:

The panel by InnovUp on global scaling a pleasure to share the stage with friends and top operators like Andrea Gennarini (2100 Ventures), Alessandra Mazzilli (Earlybird Venture Capital) and Salvatore Modeo (The Qube Incubator). Great insights, great energy and a bite of Puglia’s diaspora! Of course I’ve contributed giving the #communitycapital perspective!

The legendary side events hosted by VC funds, associations and corporates (the BACKED VC one is unmissable). The real dealflow happens there.

Dinners, lunches, coffees… always side-by-side with friends like Francesco Cerruti  from Italian Tech Alliance, Nicklas Pavoncelli, Alessandro La Rosa, Vittorio Palma, Leopoldo Angelini, Alex Roggero⚡️ and so many brilliant Italian founders who keep leveling up year after year.

A Hollywood-style main stage, with conversations that set the tone for where Europe is going… Alexandre Prot (Qonto — and yes, community funding!)

The founders of Lovable, ElevenLabs, and others shaping the next decade.

Pepe Agell (Pear VC) giving a masterclass on early-stage venture dynamics.

The Blast Club + baby vc session bringing fresh perspective and young fire into the mix.

Il mercato venture capital italiano sta cambiando pelle! E questa volta, davvero.

Negli ultimi mesi si sta verificando una dinamica che chi lavora nell’ecosistema da anni aspettava da tempo: fondi esteri che guardano attentamente all’Italia, round più maturi, operazioni più ambiziose, founder più preparati e finalmente la sensazione di un mercato che vuole crescere, non solo “sopravvivere”.

Ma c’è un punto che (troppo) pochi dicono chiaramente:

Non è solo una questione di capitali!
È una questione di qualità.

Qualità dei pitch,
Qualità delle narrative,
Qualità dell’esecuzione,
E qualità della collaborazione tra VC, angels, corporate e sì, community capital!

	•	perché i fondi internazionali stanno arrivando più intenzionati che mai
	•	cosa sta funzionando (e cosa no) nelle nostre strategie di fundraising

La verità è semplice:
l’Italia non è più (solo) un mercato early-stage “di prossimità”. Stiamo entrando in una fase in cui le nostre migliori #startup possono e devono giocare la partita europea e globale.

E quando il capitale internazionale arriva, è perché qualcosa sta iniziando a funzionare sul serio!

Last night in Milan we tested something simple and very “Silicon Valley” for the European ecosystem....And it worked!

The first Community Funding Showcase brought together 50+ #founders, #angels, #operators and curious innovators for an informal, relaxed, high-signal evening:

3 live pitches, zero noise, real conversations, pizza, beer and #CommunityCapital at the center of it all!

We hosted 3 companies currently raising on 3of the main Italian #platforms:

Deep Learning Italia raising on Mamacrowd
Nova Ventures raising on CrowdFundMe
Powandgo raising on Opstart - Crowdfunding Fintech Hub

Different founders, different sectors, same goal... use Community Capital as a strategic layer to validate, accelerate and expand!

Events like this remind me why Europe is moving fast... Not because we copy Silicon Valley but because we’re finally building our own culture of openness, collaboration and community-driven venture building and developing!

Am I crazy?

As much as I love Notion, I needed my place. A calm and peaceful place to organise myself and my ''brain''.

I tried Obsidian before, but didn't like the UI.. There's a bit of a learning curve, while Notion is a playground.

But here's the thing: I'm getting the best of both worlds.

Obsidian is connected with my agents that document everything I need ➡️ then I push all relevant company updates on Notion for team management

That cuts the noise for me, and I think I only scratched the surface.

Released by Google, it’s like if Lovable had a baby with Cursor’s code view. The feature set is wild:

• Distinct Plan / Code / Review modes.
