I joined Toastmasters to become a better communicator and leader. I can still recall my first speech.  My hands were shaking, my mouth was dry and I thought for sure that the people on the front row could see butterflies jumping out of my shirt.  Even though I was nervous giving my first speech I was excited because I knew that it was part of the process of me learning how to be a more confident presenter.

This has been a wonderful year.  We started the year off with 5 clubs in our area and then we were fortunate to be able to add a sixth club.  This was my first opportunity to mentor a brand new club and has been wonderful to watch them grow into more effective communicators.  Two of our clubs finished the year off at President's Distinguished.
