10+ years ago, I began my awakening journey, uncovering disturbing truths hidden in plain sight while navigating through the complexity of life.  I traveled to 32+ countries and worked with various healers, Lightworkers, Shamans, and Guides to amplify my light and activate my Gifts.   

It's beautiful to see so many waking up from the lies we have been told. However, I know firsthand that this journey isn't easy. 

Now that we have this knowledge, what do we do with it?

Fighting for the life you’ve chosen is infinitely easier than fighting for a life you never asked for.




As a US American that moved to spain over 13 years ago, I am often asked if any number of things from quality of life and building a business to systemic racism and raising a family are “better” or “easier”here than in the US.

Objectively speaking, there are a few factors in the assessment that are absolutely no-contest. Universal healthcare is #1.

For everything else, however, I tell them this:

Building a life of your own design takes equal parts courage and commitment. It’s easier for some of us than others—and EVEN as a Black woman, my US passport privilege has no doubt made my move more straight forward than most.

However, when it comes to the tough socio-political stuff, the conversation changes.

The short answer is, no. There is not less hardship. There is not less racism. And no, neither are easier to experience here than in the US. 

But these experiences HAVE been easier to overcome when I wake up, take a walk, stare out at my Mediterranean “backyard” in awe of having made a lifelong dream of endless creative inspiration, location independence, multi-language mastery and a seaside permanent address happen JUST because I said so. 




So no, living outside of the US doesn’t change my racialized experience or shield me from reality.

But it sure does make it easier to show up and face it.

Not even educational outrage.

Just being weird, unprofessional, a little swear-y, and responding to all-ish if your comments.

Let this be a message to all my fellow misfits: 2026 is your year. You just gotta tell it like it is, overshare a couple times a week, call out BS, and cheer on the people that make this platform worth being on. 💛

Today is no ordinary #MotivationMonday. Today is not for being quippy or weird(er than usual). Instead, today is for asking ourselves the serious questions. The right questions. The hard questions. Questions like:


If you were truly unafraid to fail, how would you put your name, your reputation and your money on the line for what is right and just?


I will say it again and again and again: 

Lock in, allies. 2020-2025 activism is not going to work in 2026 and beyond. Your courage is critical in this moment.

We're 12 days into this man-made year.

Who are you choosing to be?

If you are a sentient human being in 2026 carefully evading the news, I know what you might be feeling right now.

Helplessness.
Lack of resources.
Afraid to take action.
Questioning of identity.
Unable to discern next steps, personally or professionally.

I hear you. I AM you.

But here’s the thing:

Even in times of absolute turmoil, especially in the last 18 months of life, business, and global events, there are some things I’m extremely proud of.

I’m still here. I am still innovating. I still experience some form of joy on a daily basis. Most of all, I am still hopeful that what I’ve just gone through has set the stage (and a new standard) for what my life will look like as I turn a new decade next year.

Why?

Because I haven’t had to do any of it alone. 

Whether you are an impact professional or an everyday changemaker just trying to leave this place a little better than you found it, I want this to be the year that you stop trying to be okay with everything that isn’t and build the thing you know is going to change the world, starting with you.

The question is:

How can I help? 💛

When I wrote the blueprint for the R.I.S.E. Changemaker’s Academy, I wasn’t trying to create another complicated new business system.

I was trying to put complicated systems in a language anyone could understand.

The other week I said that when it comes to impact, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel; you just have to put them onto your car. 


The Code™️ is kind of like that.


If I ask you to write a one-page mission statement describing the 7.9145 core competencies of a businesss that has never existed or generated income, you’re going to fire me. 

But if I ask you to state your cause and why you care about it?


We’d have to spend an hour trying to get it down to three paragraphs because you’re so passionate about the communities you serve, you could write a dissertation on your “why.”


If I ask you to build a fully-coded fake door website MVP to test product-market fit for your top three ICPs until you’ve determined viability, you’re going to leave with a migraine. 

But if I ask you who you dream of working with and to think who in your network already fits that description so you can offer them a promo session in exchange for a testimonial?


Same outcome, nary a wayward acronym to be found. 


It’s not just about simplicity; it’s about translatability.

I’m not here to overwhelm you with business-speak.

I just want to get you paid the best way I know how:


Being yourself. 🌟
