As digital account manager I am working to continually improve and expand Peter Vardy's use of online and digital marketing to make it the best in the motor industry.

The role is demanding and highly varied, working with the BMW, MINI, Jaguar, Porsche, Land Rover and Vauxhall brands. I am responsible for the groups Online marketing campaigns, PPC Account, Social media activity, Directing and shooting of adverts, Online marketing budget, Research and development of IT solutions - including a new eCommerce platform, Reporting and analysis of statistics.

Day-to-day I run seven websites, both internal and external, with a combined total of 100,000+ visits per month. We do the majority of the work in house, but I do also work closely with a number of external agencies for larger pieces of development work.

The older I get, the less I care about being right.

I care about being aware.

Here are three takeaways I keep coming back to as Willo® grows:

1. You can’t scale confusion. 

Speed means nothing without clarity.

If everyone is sprinting in different directions, you are not building momentum, you are building friction. One goal per person, per quarter. That has been a game changer.

2. Rest is infrastructure.

Early in my career, I thought 12-hour days were a badge of honour.
They were just a fast track to burnout.

Now we design for energy, not hours. Fewer meetings, more ownership, and space to stop.

3. Trust is structural.

You do not earn trust through words, you build it into how you work.
Transparent goals, shared context, and freedom to make calls. (Something I really work hard to encourage daily with my team) 

💡 One idea I am playing with:
What if we treated leadership like product design, testing and debugging it constantly?

Truly, the best leaders I have met (and are inspired most by) are not the loudest or the busiest.
They are the most curious.
