I got fed up of waiting years to build my business.

Instead… I bought my way to £1M+ personal income.

The usual route of business growth is painfully slow:

- You hire
- You do a tonne of sales
- Clients churn

And so you wait. Months pass. Maybe years.

All to add incremental growth.
Maybe 10%-20% max.

Meanwhile, the bigger players aren’t optimising their own business.

They just acquire:

Organic growth means building brick by brick.
Acquisition means buying the whole machine.

People say acquisitions are risky.

But so is spending 3 years hoping marketing works. So is hiring the wrong sales team. So is burning cash “figuring it out”.

I helped Navin buy a workwear business.

£500k revenue. £145k average EBITDA. £95k/year to him.

Here’s the part most people miss 👇

- He didn’t need hundreds of thousands in savings.
- He didn’t raise outside investors.
- He didn’t drain his personal capital.

The deal was structured like this:

- £300k purchase price
- £300k government-backed GGS loan
- £20k of his own cash injected
- £65k working capital left in the business

Important part:

That £20k wasn’t even used to fund the purchase price.

It was injected to strengthen cashflow and support the bank facility — not to “buy” the business.

The acquisition itself was funded.

The business was already doing ~£145k EBITDA.

After servicing the bank debt?

It still generates close to six figures per year in owner cashflow.

And since acquisition, he’s grown it further.

New contracts.
Stronger positioning.
Improved operational focus.

All from an initial £20k injection.

This is what most people don’t understand:

You don’t need massive capital.

You need:

- A fundable deal
- A bankable structure
- Sensible leverage
- Real cashflow

Most people think:

“I need 25% down.”
“I need to save for years.”
“I’m not ready yet.”

No.

You need the right structure and the right asset.

Buying a cashflowing business with supportable debt beats grinding from zero every time.

They don’t see the nights replaying decisions in my head.

Entrepreneurship isn’t glamorous.

It’s pressure.
Responsibility.
Loneliness.

But I’ve realised something:

I’d rather carry pressure
than carry regret.

So I keep buying.
Keep structuring.
Keep building.

Not because it’s easy.

Because it’s worth it.

I’ve helped 100s of people buy 7-figure businesses.

The No.1 trait I see of people who can do it?

Belief that they can do it...

The people who fail?

- They don’t trust themselves.
- They overanalyse everything.
- They second guess decisions.
- They wait for certainty.
- They look for guarantees.

They come in thinking:
“This probably won’t work for me.”

And they’re right.

Because if you don’t believe you can do it, you won’t take the actions required.

And deals don’t wait.

The people who succeed?

They say:
“I’ll figure it out.”

- They move before they feel ready.
- They trust the process.
- They trust themselves.

Both types of people get the same programme, same tools, same support.

But the mindset determines whether they succeed.

Buying a 7-figure business isn’t reserved for geniuses.

It’s reserved for people who decide they can.

My client bought a £2.7m business.

But he didn't have to use ANY of his own cash...

Graham was fed up of his business growth taking way too long.

- He was smart

But growing one sale at a time was painful for him.

So instead of building… He bought.

Within 12 months, he acquired 3 businesses.

This one looked like this:

- Nearly £2m revenue
- £460k yearly profit
- £1.7m in assets

Here’s the simple part.

He didn’t even write a cheque.

The deal was structured like this:

1. Part paid upfront using bank debt
2. Part paid over 5 years to the seller
3. The business’s own assets supported funding
4. Cash already inside the company helped
5. He personally injected £0.

In fact, the deal brought in extra working capital.

Most people think: “I can’t afford to buy a business.”

But the truth is:

You don’t buy businesses with savings.
You buy them with the right structure.

The wealthy don’t wait 10 years to grow.

They just buy the growth.

Is the No.1 reason people don’t ever buy.

- They assume good businesses aren’t available
- They assume everything decent is already taken
- They just have no clue where to find the right deals

That belief keeps them stuck.

I used to speak to brokers and never get a deal.

I then bought 3 in 9 months via off-market deals.

Most brokers (not all) are incentivised to:

- Tell the owner what they want to hear
- Inflate valuation expectations
- Take upfront retainers
- “Test the market”

And once it’s live?

Silence.

No serious buyer management.
No real deal strategy.
No positioning for completion.

Just a glossy IM and a listing.

The owner feels looked after.

The buyer gets overcooked numbers.

And the broker still gets paid.

Off-market changed everything for me.

No inflated ego pricing.
No artificial auction tension.
No middleman protecting fantasy valuations.

Just:

Owner.
Numbers.
Reality.

The best deals I’ve done didn’t start with a broker pack.

They started with a conversation.

If you’re only sourcing from listed deals…

You’re competing in the most expensive room in the building.

And wondering why nothing pencils.

£100K into property: £300 a month profit

£100K into a business: £10K a month

Same money.
Different vehicle.

Most people are told: “Buy property. It’s safe.”

So they save. Chuck a couple tens of thousands into a property.

And then?

£300 a month profit. Maybe £500 if they’re lucky.

- After costs
- After voids
- After maintenance

Now compare that to deploying £100K into a profitable business.

Not starting one. Buying one.

You could acquire:

1. Existing customers
2. Existing contracts
3. Existing cashflow
4. Existing team
5. Existing systems

And if structured properly?

£10K a month profit isn’t far-fetched at all.

Property relies on appreciation. Which means you're waiting 20+ years to see a juicy profit.
