What I do: As the Associate Vice President of Talent and Organizational Development within Human Resources I sit on the HR Leadership Team reporting to the CHRO/VP of Human Resources for the University of Miami. In addition to that team, I sit on the Executive HR Leadership team for UHealth & the Miller School of Medicine (the only academic medical center in the region) reporting the CHRO/VP of HR.  

I have the honor to lead the Talent & Organizational Development team as we get to partner with leadership and staff across "the U" and our academic healthcare system to conduct strategic planning sessions, design and run employee experiences such as I am the U and We Care which is our first-day orientation programs, executive coaching, team-building and intervention facilitation, change management/leadership, organizational design, conflict resolution, along with leadership and staff development programs. My team and I also administer our talent management and engagement program.

I have a wonderful and dedicated team who make this work come alive, every day at the highest levels. They truly make a difference and do their part together to transform lives at the U!

Talent and Organizational Development (TOD) serves the University community on all things cultural, setting the stage and enabling leaders to create the right work environment in making the University a great place to work, learn, and grow. A part of engagement is talent management, which is creating structure around succession planning and career paths in addition to  interpreting employee surveys that can bring about positive change. Another large part of TOD is diversity and inclusion. Understanding that diversity of thought and backgrounds is what makes UM s special place to be is in the fabric of this organization. 

Organizational Development (OD) also serves the entire University community, largely working with leaders and their teams from strategic planning, team building, change management, team interventions, and one-on-one executive coaching. OD gets to the heart of issues and helps teams work through their differences in a proactive and professional manner. Confidentiality and trust, when working with leaders, is the staple of OD.

Company: ✒Diona Pty Ltd was a loss-making entity within a group of three distinct businesses owned by Calibre Group. This forced Calibre to sell out of BuiltE Environment (Professional Services) business to EGIS Group in Jun 2022. Between June 2022 and Nov 2022, I worked intensely with NAB appointed liquidators from Korda Mentha. However, the report issued by Korda Mentha and subsequent failure to secure refinance forced Calibre to privately sell out QuadR by Dec 2022. Calibre was unable to secure buyers for loss making Diona and was forced to undertake aggressive business reengineering strategy. The strategy saw a part of 220 employees bucketed into distinct lists: termination, demobilization, redundancy. Diona was finally sold to SRD in Sep 2024

Profile: ✒In Oct 2021 I stepped into Diona Pty Ltd to fill in for a CFO who went on extended stress leave. My tenure saw turbulent times in prepping Diona for "either or" positions alternating between insolvency to fire sale. I concluded my tenure with an Application to Fair Work. My application was settled by off-court settlement offer. In considering my options factors such as Diona's financial viability to get to trial some months ahead and incurring legal costs to fight an entity forgone to potential insolvency played a significant role.  I thus entered a Deed of Release with Diona Pty Ltd on the 11th of April 2024. 
I further secured pre-trial settlement with Diona Pty Ltd accepting liability for and compensating me for sustaining medical damages through the course of my employment. The Claim was settled on the 17th of September 2024 minutes prior to kicking off the formal arbitration with the Personal Injury Commission.

Profile: ✒As a high-profile leadership team member, I partner directly with the Founders, the CEO, and the Board to serve as a conduit for key decision-making and advisor to the business. My mandate was to drive the finance function to deliver all internal and external financial reporting obligations. My role required me to remain all-inclusive in my endeavors with a strong focus on 360C management of resources to ensure the success of my team while pursuing the evolving broader agenda adopted by the business.

Portfolio: ✒I chaired balance sheet review meetings for 220 contracts ranging from construction to defence, logistics, immigration, infrastructure and asset operations, and facility management services. My brief was to streamline project reporting by establishing robust internal controls and standardizing the presentation and preparation of financial statements, specifically the statement of the financial position of individual projects
