People are reading. Nobody's buying.

The comments are coming in. The likes are there. Someone shared it last week and said it changed how they think.

The calendar is still empty.

Engagement is not the problem. Converting it is.

Most people assume the pipeline follows the audience. Post good content, build a following, clients appear. That's not how it works.

Attention without a path to purchase is just flattery.

The people reacting to your content aren't thinking about hiring you. They're consuming. Nodding along. Moving on. Unless something in the post makes them stop and think — that's me, I need that, what's next.

That moment doesn't happen by accident.

The post has to do three things. 
- Create recognition in the right person. 
- Make them feel the cost of staying where they are. 
- Give them an obvious next step.

Most content does the first one. Almost none do the second or third.

That's the gap between an audience and a pipeline.

You're impressive in person, but your profile isn't.

The conversation lands. They lean in. They want to know more.

One is a mirror. The other is a brochure.

Most profiles are brochures. Credentials, certifications, years of experience, awards. Written for the person who already trusts you.

The person visiting doesn't trust you yet. They're deciding in five seconds whether you're worth reading.

Give them something to recognise, not something to admire.

Feels good. Does nothing.

The audience you're building is full of people who understand what you do but don't need it done. They engage because they relate, not because they're buying.

That's a content positioning problem.

The posts resonating with peers are written from the inside.

Industry language, practitioner perspectives, problems that practitioners recognise.

Buyers aren't practitioners. They're sitting with a specific problem that's costing them time or money and they need someone to fix it.

They don't engage with content that sounds like it's written for the room they're not in.

Writing for buyers means starting with their problem, not your expertise. Their world, not your methodology. The cost of staying stuck, not the elegance of your solution.

The reaction you want isn't "so true." It's "this is me, what's next."

One audience fills your feed with validation. The other fills your calendar with calls.
