Human behaviour, and how this is connected to the brain, is a highly interesting field of play. 

Consumer behaviour, awareness creation, and seeing how habitual changes can make or break corporate success are areas that have fascinated me from an early age. Spearheading this ever-growing interest in the (ir)rational behaviour of the ever-demanding consumer is what I thrive on.

With a bit of an obsession to stay abreast of the latest in the tourism and hospitality industry, and the agility this brings to turn around marketing and product-driven communication optimally, I very much like to stay on top of things. Connecting this with the rational and irrational, and you have my arena for persuasion and conviction laid out.

The broader roles I have taken on requires being organized. Quick actions require quick access.

Leadership and coaching teams are an extension of this. The world does not stand still and moves faster and faster. Those having their eyes in the same, long-term direction are the catalysers to evolve anything. It must be scalable; there must be room to optimise, grow, and evolve. It must be balanced out to alleviate the stress factor.

Throughout my career at leading tourism and hospitality companies in East and South-East Asia, the drive to bring this connection to the consumer is interwoven with my passion for team play. Choices and collaborating with different personalities with often irrational logic that lead to more understanding. Brainstorming together to put forward ideas that have been in my blind spot.

Habitual changes and the consistency needed to put health and wellness in the spotlight outside and on the work floor, I founded The Thrive Approach Health Coaching (www.thriveapproach.asia) in 2021. I firmly belief everyone is the secret of their own success to perform, think and inspire others to create awareness why health is wealth.

All the above is not attainable when balancing out your personal and professional goals are not on the agenda.

Aside from work, you can find me on the gym floor, traversing the globe for inspirational travel encounters, or immersing myself in new experiences with family and friends.

In today’s world, modern products are designed to hijack our biology rather than fuel it properly. When the results emerge (our bodies never lie), the investments in supplements and medication peak.

We are living longer, but at what cost?

Recent global reviews of over 100 long-term studies confirm that ultra-processed foods (UPFs) damage every major organ system at a cellular level. They negatively impact the liver, gut, heart, metabolism, and immune system.

It also affects our brain, too. These food products have now been associated with anxiety, depression and brain fog.

UPFs overwhelm literally the metabolic function and have a disruptive effect on our blood sugar regulation. These products trigger systemic inflammation and compromise gut integrity.

They burden your detoxification pathways and fundamentally alter biological performance, starting in your gut, damaging your mucosal lining. The body possesses an inherent capacity to heal when provided with real, whole, and minimally processed nutrition.

Should we then completely eliminate UPFs? 

There is no need for this. 

Losing control and awareness is what drives this.

Small habit changes in dietary choices initiate the reversal of inflammation and stabilise metabolic markers. 

It does not have to be perfect. 
Perfection does not exist.

👨‍🍳 Be critical and hit your kitchen and fridge.
🍽️ Audit your kitchen for products with more than five ingredients. Prioritize single-ingredient whole foods to restore cellular function. 
⚛️ Monitor energy levels as you reduce synthetic additives.

I’ve been talking about this for years. What we call “food” today often isn’t food at all.

Real food is an amazing medicine. It always has been.
