A few years ago, I hit a wall.

I learned this lesson later than I should have.

For years, I focused on building my skills and perfecting my work.

Main responsibilities as a SOC Manager:

•	Manage team efforts to monitor for security events and provide first and final escalation analysis
•	Lead staff to proactively identify, prevent and respond to security incidents
•	Revise and develop processes to continually improve the Security Operations Framework
•	Ensuring SLAs are met
•	Responsible for team & vendor management, overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required 
•	Collaborate with technical security assessment and cyber threat intelligence teams to validate security events and perform advanced analysis

Main responsibilities:

•	Monitor customer security systems
•	Work with clients to help remediate and answer questions regarding their security environment
•	Participate in client calls
•	Make recommendations to customers on improving their security posture
•	Use SIEM technologies and other native tools to perform the monitoring of security events
•	Perform analysis on logs produced by network devices utilised within SOC such as firewalls, content filtering, syslog from various devices, assorted Intrusion Detection capabilities, substantiating vulnerability scanner results, directory services, DHCP logs, Secure Email Gateway logs
•	Provide security events analysis and support to include identifying potential threat, anomalies and infections, documenting findings, providing recommendation within the SOC's incident management system, performing triage of incoming security events, performing preliminary and secondary analysis of those events, and validating the events
•	Perform technical analyses, such as analysis of malicious code, network traffic, web log data, cyber intelligence, hard drives, and other storage and forensics media, to control exploitative activity
