The manager title gets a bad wrap. 
Who's with me?!

Managers. Bad. 
Leaders. Good. 
I call BS. 

So many folks hold a "manager" title and yet it gets a bad wrap. Here’s how I like to think about it… 🤔 

We need managers. Managers deal with complexity. Organizational change lives and dies in the middle with managers. They have multi-directional influence, up, down and peer-to-peer.

Leaders, on the other hand, create simplicity. Leadership is a set of behaviors (decisiveness, compassion, confidence, and, hopefully accountability) and not a title. ❌ 

✅ What we need are more managers in title who also show up and behave as leaders do. 😊

It has come to my attention that it is World Kindness Day today. A few thoughts...

1) Love that we have a day AND let's make it a daily ritual, shall we?

2) Kind does not mean nice. Nice can be passive. Kind is the willingness to display candor with care. 

3) Curiosity is a gateway to kind. In an ever divided human experience, seeking to connect with those you may disagree with using respect and curiosity is a gateway to kindness. Let's use it. It's needed!

If we can't agree on the behaviors, we won't know who to follow.

2️⃣ Compassion
3️⃣ Confidence
