BUT led me to what I'm actually passionate about.
 
2020 - Paralegal. Brisbane. Absolutely useless.
 
2021 - Equity capital markets analyst. Pitch decks, investor roadshows, financial modelling.
 
Thought this was 100% my path.

Nope.
 
2022 - Co-founded a crypto rewards card NFT.
 
150+ pre-orders. $52k in 24 hours. 15k Twitter followers.
 
Then the NFT market crashed. Awesome.
 
2023 - Discovered sales was actually a career (thank you Earlywork).
 
Joined Ofload. Realised for the first time there's a genuine skill to sales.
 
2024 - Started UGOKI HOUSE on the side.
 
Started building creator-led product brands.
 
So we did.
 
Merch.
 
A cat bed.
 
A sauce brand.
 
Snacks.
 
Cosmetics.
 
All of it. None of it worked.
 
Not because the market wasn't there.
 
Because we kept building products we knew nothing about. While ignoring the one thing we'd always been good at.
 
Sales.
 
So we started speaking to a few established solo content led founders 

Every single one said the same thing:
 
"Things are going well. But I'm drowning."
 
More clients = more sales calls.
 
More revenue = more founder involvement.
 
Growth felt like a trap, not progress.
 
The problem was never demand.
 
It was the absence of a system that worked without the founder being the system.
 
2025 - We stopped building products.
 
Now we partner with creator-led founders and build & manage their sales system for them.
 
Was a bit of a path getting here but for the first time actually feel confident in what we do.
 
Still a long way to go. And who knows what it all becomes.

I absolutely hate Claude Code.

For the past 21 days it has destroyed my life.

I don't know if everyone feels the same but it is the most addictive tool I've ever used.

I typically only jump on it at night when I'm building out automations.

But I've never had time just rip through so quickly.

And I've never had such a strong urge to stay up all night working on it (bit depressing...haha).

In the past, things would take months to develop.

So much iterating. So much tweaking. Just to get a basic MVP out.

And most of the time you’d have someone technical building it.

Now…

You have an idea at breakfast.

By the afternoon it exists.

The dopamine rush when it works seamlessly is just insane.

Sounds kind of sad to say but it’s just crazy.

1,600 layoffs at Atlassian got me thinking about the future of sales reps…
 
and it’s honestly terrifying.
 
Sales is about to change more in the next few years than it has in the last few decades.
 
In the last 4 weeks, what we’ve been able to build with tools like Claude and other AI agents is honestly mind-blowing.
 
But here’s the part most people get wrong.
 
This doesn’t mean SDRs disappear.
 
It doesn’t mean salespeople become redundant.
 
It means salespeople become dramatically more efficient.
 
The tools are incredible.
 
But tools only work if you know how to use them.
 
If you understand the skill behind sales…
 
You can train AI agents to execute those strategies at scale.
 
If you don’t understand sales?
 
Then your AI agent is just a bot sending bad outreach faster.
 
Jeremy Cabral made a point recently that stuck with me:
 
LLMs all know the same public data. Everything online.
 
So where’s the real advantage?
 
It’s not the model.
 
It’s the data.
 
Your proprietary data.
 
1. Your customer conversations
2. Your sales playbooks
3. Your messaging experiments
4. Your industry insights
 
That’s the moat.
 
An AI trained on your actual sales thinking is 100x more valuable than a generic chatbot.
 
The next few years will still come down to skill.
 
Great salespeople will use AI to become 10x more effective.
 
Average salespeople will just automate mediocre outreach.
 
And when we get to 2027/28? 
 
Honestly…who the f*ck knows.
 
Anyone claiming they know exactly where this goes is full of it.
 
AI is moving too fast.
 
But one thing feels certain:
 
The winners won’t just use AI.
 
They’ll train it on their unique data and expertise.

We 8x'd a client's revenue in 60 days by doing ONE thing. 

And honestly the first move was so simple it's embarrassing. 

It's probably the most boring strategy you'll ever hear. 

But it literally has the biggest impact.
 
We raised the price by 10% 🤯 

And kept doing it until the maths didn't make sense 🤯
 
Crazy 🤯
 
Most founders pick a number and never touch it. 

They assume raising prices kills close rate. 

It typically doesn't. 

A bit terrifying? Yes. 

But just run the test. 

Worst case you go back to your original price. 

Rule of thumb: increase by 10% for every 5 new clients.

In 10 days I met with 12 companies to talk about sales in 2026.
 
And honestly I was a bit shocked.
 
There are two types of companies right now.
 
𝟭. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹.
 
Most have sales reps doing what they've always done.
 
Standard outreach. SMS, email, LI, cold calling.
 
But there's a desire to get into automation, knowing where to start just seems overwhelming.
 
And honestly fair enough.
 
The amount of tutorials flooding my feed saying "try this tool, try this agent, try this workflow" makes it nearly impossible to know where to begin.
 
If this is you, just try this one simple thing:
 
Identify the most time-consuming task for you or your sales team. 
 
Could be lead generation. Could be lead scoring. Could be follow-up sequences.
 
Then open Claude and just blurt out your entire problem.
 
Don't overthink the message. Just explain what's happening and ask for a solution.
 
Go back and forth until you've worked out a way to automate a part of the process.
 
Then take that entire conversation and chuck it into Claude Code to build it.
 
That's it. Start there.
 
𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀.
 
Clay, Apollo, HeyReach, Lemlist, Instantly, Smartlead etc.
 
Absolutely no issues with these tools. Honestly they are seriously powerful.
 
But (and this is just my opinion)…the ability to recreate these tools using Claude Code is kind of insane.
 
More importantly, you can recreate them in a way that's fully customised to your business.
 
Something you own. Something you can keep evolving.
 
I've been genuinely shocked at what's possible.
 
And yes, I'm probably making it sound easier than it is.
 
It obviously takes time. It takes a STACK of back and forth with Claude. 

Like a lot of back and forth 🫠
 
But it is doable.
 
The bigger point though?
 
PhantomBuster is a useless tool if you don't know who your ICP is.
 
HeyReach doesn't help if you can't write a decent connection request.
 
The tool is never the problem. Knowing how to use it is.

Just me or is ‘For Dummies’ the #1 casualty of AI?

I walked past them in the library and couldn't stop thinking about it.

So I did some digging.


⏰ The history:

Started in 1991 with DOS (no clue what this is) For Dummies.

One book. One guy (Dan Gookin). $6,000 advance. Instant hit.

By the 2000s they had 300 million books in print. 

Over 6,000 titles published. 

$2 billion in retail sales. 

Windows For Dummies alone sold 15 million copies. 

They were releasing 150 to 200 new titles every single year (as of 2021).

And they are still releasing new titles today.

Marvel For Dummies just dropped in 2025 (everyone’s getting prepped for Avengers Doomsday obviously)


🚨 Then things got messy:

Parent company Wiley started struggling.

Revenue peaked at $2 billion in 2022. Fell the following year.

Operating income collapsed from $219 million to $56 million in a single year.

Layoffs across multiple rounds. Sold off three entire business divisions.


👾 NOW they're cashing in on AI as fast as possible:

$44 million in deals selling their content to AI companies to train large language models.

It's not a huge number relative to the business.

It feels more like a company quietly offloading its IP before the window closes.

And then they released "Artificial Intelligence For Dummies."

Selling books to humans about the very thing replacing the need for their books.


🥸 My honest take on where this ends:

They're done for. Just on a delay.

Think about who actually buys these books in 2026.

It's not young people. They just ask Claude, ChatGPT or watch a Youtube tutorial.

It's an older generation that grew up trusting these books.

That generation is shrinking every year.

Once the AI licensing money dries up and that customer base ages out…what's left?

The brand is iconic. The business model is not.
